The Statistical Unit plays a crucial role in supporting research activities within the dental school by providing statistical expertise, data analysis, and methodological support.
The initiative aims to empower TAs and staff by providing cutting-edge knowledge and skills in teaching, research, quality assurance, and some clinical tips and tricks. By fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement, and delivering high-quality, relevant, and up-to-date educational content that addresses the evolving needs of the dental school’s academic and clinical staff.
- Provide expert advice on statistical methodologies for research projects, including study design, data collection, sampling techniques, and analysis plans.
- Collaborate with researchers to identify appropriate statistical methods for their specific research questions and hypotheses.
- Assist in the design and development of surveys, experiments, and observational studies, ensuring robust and valid results.
- Conduct statistical analyses of research data, including descriptive statistics, inferential analyses, and multivariate techniques.
- Interpret and report statistical findings in a clear and accessible manner, tailored to the needs of researchers and stakeholders.
- Prepare comprehensive statistical reports that summarize research findings, including visualizations such as charts, graphs, and tables.
- Collaborate with the eLearning and staff development units to create and deliver training sessions on statistical methods and data analysis tools for TAs and staff.
