Activity – Global Hand Washing Day

Celebrating the Global Hand washing Day, the Community Service and Environmental Affairs Committee organized three field activities in collaboration with internship program on the 26^th, 27^th and 29^th of October, 2015.

The dental interns visited El Tabaray Schools in El Sherouk, Banat El Ghad in 6th Of October and MSE schools to promote dental health and hand hygiene awareness.

A total number of 18 interns attended the three days to demonstrate to a total of 225 students how to wash their hands and brush their teeth. Their ages ranged between 5-15 years of both genders.

Dental interns carried out simplified presentations and demonstrations for the young children supervised by accompanying dental staff members. The children enthusiastically took part in the creative and interactive activities aimed at educating them about basic dental health and hand hygiene. They also taught them to avoid sweets as much as possible and head for sugarless foods and drinks.

This trip meant so much to the interns and gave them so much more to look up to and each of the young children left with a perfect smile on their face.
