Activity – MIU Dental Clinic Patient Awareness (December 2015)
The Community Service and Environmental Affairs Committee in collaboration with CDC (Community Dental Care) club members organized a 3-day dental and general health awareness campaign. The campaign targeted patients attending the MIU Dental Clinic Complex and their accompanying persons. The aims of the campaign included: raising awareness of dental and general health in addition to awareness regarding the dental services provided in the MIU Dental Clinic Complex.
A total of 610 attendees participated in this event. The attendees received educational sessions about oral and general health through educational materials and models, face to face interviews and question sessions with members of the CDC.
A questionnaire for determining treatment needs was administered to the attendees in addition to a satisfaction questionnaire.
The event was beneficial to the CDC members handling huge number of patients at the same time. The event was useful for the patients who were pleased with it and ask for repetition of awareness events.
