Activity – Dental Interns Visit Cairo British School – Thebes School Campus
On Thursday 15th of November 2018, MIU Community Service and Environmental Committee, in cooperation with the Haya Organization Medi-Life, organized a field trip to Cairo British School in Misr Ismalia Road upon an invitation from Haya organization to join a day dedicated to the physical and oral health of school students. A group of staff members, dental interns as well as a team from MIU Dental Clinic Complex (nurses and administrative personnel) joined the trip.
The purpose of the visit was to promote dental health awareness and to improve the oral health conditions of the school students. During the visit, Dental interns examined the school students (9-12 years old). The school students received cards explaining their oral health state as well as the suggested treatment to be handed to their parents.
Two forms of questionnaires were distributed: one at the beginning of the session for the school students, teachers, and administrative staff to determine their dental health care needs, and another one at the end of the session to evaluate the provided program and measure their satisfaction. A questionnaire was distributed to MIU participants as well. Educational materials and packs of tooth paste and tooth brushes were distributed among all school students.
The school supervisors and teachers appreciated the organization of the trip, and they recommended more field trips in cooperation with Haya Organization.
