“Organization Development and Transformation”

On Monday 3rd December 2018, a workshop on “Organization Development and Transformation” was held by the Department of Management, Faculty of Business Administration and International Trade. The workshop was presented by Dr Nabil El Hady and it was attended by 39 students. The workshop aimed at providing Business Faculty students with knowledge and applications about the transfer of behavioral science knowledge to the planned development, improvement, and reinforcement of the strategies that lead to organization effectiveness. Organization Development and Transformation is one of the new core functions of HR Generalist Certificate which is becoming a very promising department in the organizations nowadays to support the organization Transformation Process.

“Corporate Treasury Management” seminar

On  March 5th 2018, a seminar on “Corporate Treasury Management” was  held by the Department of Management,Faculty of Business Administration and International Trade. The seminar was presented by Mr. Hesham Abouldahab, a corporate treasurer at Mansour Automotive  Co. and was attended by about 140 students.  It aimed at providing MIU students with an idea about a promising and currently growing activity  in the Corporate business which is “Corporate Treasury Management CTM”.   Mr. Abouldahab elaborated that the CTM is a mixture of financial, economic & business related activities responsible for the  management of cash resources for any organization  aspiring to achieve its strategic targets. He added that  the primary goal of treasury management is to efficiently manage the cash and related financial assets of an organization to provide the financial flexibility needed to achieve the organization’s objectives in a manner consistent with  its overall strategic plan. About the job of the Corporate Treasurers, Mr. Abouldahab clarified that they  are currently playing an increasingly critical role as advisors to their organizations especially as the global/regional companies are looking to centralize the underlying flows to minimize the operating cash required for the effective cash management of the company. After his presentation, a rich discussion was opened between Mr. Aboueldahab and the students. It focused on how the function of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is practiced through the “corporate treasury management”. Mr Abouldahab also  gave a hint  about ‘Corporate Governance and Ethical Management Practices’ and he indicated with several examples that this is actually practiced through the anti- bribery and anti-terrorism policies as one of the main guidelines of the “Corporate Treasure Management” that aim at making sure that the corporate transactions, cash investments and products never being penetrated or vitiated by such criminal activities.

“Management Strategy” Seminar by Dr. Khaled Shedid

MIU Management Department of the Business Administration and International Trade Faculty organized a seminar entitled “Management Strategy for the 21st Century” on November 22, in continuation of the university’s efforts to provide limitless opportunities for its business students to grow academically.

The seminar hosted guest speaker Dr. Khaled Shedid, the General Manager of the Wholesale & Dealer Network at Bavarian Auto Group (BMW). Dr. Shedid tackled how to overcome the challenges of the 21st century and how to be a more adaptable, innovative and inspiring place for creativity.

Prof. Phani Tej Adidam Visit

Prof. Phani Tej Adidam will be visiting the Faculty of Business Administration and International Trade between February 14th to February 21st, 2020.
Currently, Prof. Phani is Executive Management Education Professor and Chair of the Department of Marketing and Management, University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO), USA. Research interests of professor Adidam include Brand Management, Competitive Intelligence, Consumption Experiences and Decision Making.
During his visit, Prof. Phani will be will be giving lectures in several topics in Marketing Research, Marketing Strategy and Special Topics in Marketing.

Compensation & Benefits Workshop by Dr. Magued Naguib

MIU welcomed Dr. Magued Naguib in the first part of a workshop on “Compensation and Benefits” on November 28.
The workshop was conducted under the supervision of the Faculty of Business Administration, Management Department for 60 students. The first part of the workshop covered the topics of establishing a strategic pay plan. The workshop also included the designing of an Effective Performance- based Incentive Plan.

“Deadline 30 Minutes! Business Simulation”

On Monday 3rd December 2018, “Deadline 30 Minutes! Business Simulation” was held by the Department of Management, Faculty of Business Administration and International Trade. The simulation was moderated by 360 Experiential Solutions and it was a highly participative activity to illustrate a whole range of skills in just 30 minutes! The outcome provided an immediate measure of team performance. The students practically learned the importance of accuracy and attention to detail; to get organized as a team and to allocate roles; to work to a tight deadline, to share information with others in a helpful way as well as to show the need for objectives to be clear and for a method of working to be agreed on right at the start.

Prof. Jack Armitage Visit

Professor Jack L. Armitage is visiting the Faculty of Business Administration and International Trade from February 28th till March 12th, 2015.

Professor Armitage is professor of accounting at the University of Nebraska, USA. He served as the chair of the accounting department twice; the first was between 1999 and 2003, and the second from 2006 till 2009.

In addition to his academic achievements, Professor Armitage holds two professional certificates:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE)

Also, he has attended many professional development activities, especially in the area of auditing, fraud examination, and forensic accounting.

During his visit to MIU, professor Armitage will participate in teaching three courses:

  • Intermediate accounting
  • Auditing
  • Governmental accounting

The Company Program is a comprehensive and exciting program that allows students to set up and run their own business enterprise. With the support and guidance of professional volunteers from the Egyptian business community who meet with their team once a week for 10 weeks, students will learn to appreciate and better understand the role of business in Egyptian society. The program takes students and their companies through four main stages:

  1. organizing the company
  2. developing a business plan
  3. managing the company
  4. liquidating the company

By organizing and operating an actual business of their choosing, students not only learn how businesses function, they also learn about the structure of Egypt’s free enterprise system and the benefits it provides.


“Driving Business Results with Talent Management” workshop

On Monday 22nd October 2018, a workshop on “Driving Business Results with Talent Management” was held by the Department of Management and Marketing, Faculty of Business Administration and International Trade. The workshop was presented by Dr Magued Naguib and it was attended by 42 students. It aimed at providing Business Faculty students with knowledge and applications about the Competency – Based Job Analysis, adding to the requirements and the applications related to Talent Acquisition (Planning & Recruitment), Talent Development, Talent Identification (Performance Management & Succession Planning) and Talent Retention (Fostering Engagement).

“Managing Growth and planning for Exit in SMES” seminar

Misr International University welcomed Engineer Mohamed Farag at the “Managing Growth and planning for Exit in SMES” seminar on October 16, 2017.
The seminar was conducted for the Management department and 300 students attended it. The content included a brief discussion about companies’ growth strategies. In addition, it provided a great background for students about how entrepreneurs take corrective actions and decisions when facing economic changes.
