01. How can we apply at MIU?
Visit our official website http://www.miuegypt.edu.eg/ and press Apply Now tab to start your online application process.
Please fill in all the blank spaces and make sure to submit a valid email since all communications including the request for missing documents and final acceptance will be via this email.

02. Where is the application on the website?
Apply Now tab shows up as a popup screen as you visit our MIU website and can still be seen in the right top corner of our Home page.

03. Can we apply by visiting the Admissions Office in person?
In our recent developments to reduce waiting time and digitalize our procedures, students can only apply online.

04. How can the applicant reserve to sit for the MIU Placement Test?
The student him/herself will be able to choose his/her preferred day, time slot from the electronic calendar available and the venue (online- on campus) during the application process through the portal: https://apply.miuegypt.edu.eg/index.html#/Apply
It’s the student’s own responsibility to attend online/ on campus on the specified day.

05. Can the applicant reschedule the MIU Placement Exam?
Yes, applicants can change the exam date using the username and password of their MIU account, which is sent to them in the confirmation email (the first email an applicant receives once the application is successfully submitted).

06. What are the required fees for the application?
A nonrefundable amount of 1350 Egyptian pounds has to be paid online with a MasterCard / Visa credit card to book MIU placement exam.

07. What if applicants did not receive a confirmation email after submission of the online application?
Make sure that the email you registered in the application is correct.
If the applicant is sure the correct email was written in the application form, we can resend the confirmation email in response to an email request to [email protected] or a phone call.

08. How can applicants change their registered email?
The applicant can simply send us a request through the Admission Office active email ([email protected]) and s/he will automatically receive an MIU Confirmation Email.

09. How can applicants make sure that they have submitted a successful application online?
Once applicants have successfully completed and submitted an online application form they will receive an automated reply via the registered email confirming the receipt of your application with the applicant’s MIU account details: username ID, password, required documents, and instructions to follow.

10. How can applicants edit an MIU application form after submission?
If applicants have not yet taken the MIU placement exam then they can log in to their MIU portal using their username and password to access their application and make necessary changes, including changing faculty choices.

11. How can applicants change the faculty choices after taking the MIU placement exam?
After taking the MIU placement exam, faculty changes are only allowed by sending us a request through the Admission Office active email ([email protected]). The email should be sent from the applicant’s email previously registered in the application form.

12. When does the application for early admissions start each year?
Early admissions start in December annually. The admission process continues through the summer until the end of mid August or according to the dates set by the Ministry of Higher Education.

13. Does the early admission guarantee a place for applicants?
Early admission is a tool to ease the application procedures and does not guarantee acceptance or saving a place at MIU. According to the Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research acceptance is based on the candidate’s final high school scores and the results set by the Ministry of Higher Education. Acceptance is also based on passing the MIU placement test.

14. Does MIU offer campus tours before or during the application period?
Yes. You can tour MIU campus in person as well as meet different faculty members to answer any questions you may have.

15. What is the minimum percentage to be accepted at MIU?
The minimum percentage required for each faculty is announced annually by the Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

16. What are the required documents for the application?
Applicants can find all the required documents on the MIU website under the Admission Requirements section. Once applicants fill out MIU online application, then they will receive the detailed required documents via email.

17. What are the stamps required on the original documents?
Applicants can find all details regarding the required documents on the MIU website under the Admission Requirements section. Documents differ according to the type of certificate.

18. Should applicants submit original stamped documents during the application period?
MIU only requires copies of the original documents to be uploaded online. Each applicant can upload a PDF copy of his/her documents by logging in to the student portal using MIU username and password. You will find a labeled place for each document.

19. What are the mandatory assessments required for applying to MIU?
An English Placement Exam and a Reasoning (IQ) test are required for all faculties while an Aptitude Test is required for the Faculty of Engineering (whether the student is applying for the department of Architecture OR Electronics & Communication).

20- What are the passing grades for the English and Reasoning (IQ) placement tests?
English placement test is mainly a placement one; yet applicants should meet a minimum passing grade to be eligible for acceptance.

21- Can applicants retake the English Placement or Engineering Aptitude tests?
Applicants are not allowed to retake their English Placement exam or engineering Aptitude Test unless a year has passed since their exam date, in compliance with the university’s internal rules and regulations. It is highly recommended that the applicant doesn’t sit for the MIU placement tests unless he or she is well-prepared.

22. Does MIU offer any courses or academic material for practice?
The confirmation email delivered to candidates upon their successful submission of the application form will include an attachment sample of the English and Aptitude tests to prepare candidates for the actual assessment.

23. What does the Aptitude Test for the Faculty of Engineering assess?
The Aptitude Test for the Department of Architecture is a drawing assessment and general questions related to the study of architecture while the Electronics and Communication Aptitude is a mixture of basic questions in math and physics.

24. What happens if the applicant scores a lower percentage than the required for their chosen faculty preference?
If the applicant fails to score the minimum-passing grade set by the Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, then they will not be eligible to join this faculty. Applicants should be aware that the Admission Office will automatically switch to the second or third choice on their application.

Residence and Transportation

Does MIU provide any campus residence facilities for enrolled students from outside Cairo?
Unfortunately, MIU does not own on-campus dorms nor can provide housing assistance outside the university for candidates. Candidates should provide their own accommodation. MIU is 25 minutes away from Heliopolis.

Does MIU offer transportation and how much does it cost annually?
The university offers a first-rate transportation network. Subscription for MIU transportation is optional based on the student’s preference. The bus fees are announced annually on the MIU website and are not part of the tuition fees.

Do the transportation routes cover all Cairo neighborhoods and other cities?
MIU transportation network covers Cairo, Giza, and Zagazig while the 6th of October City and Ismalia are not covered by the university bus routes.

Can applicants know the detailed bus routes before acceptance?
When the applicant is finally accepted at MIU, s/he may contact our Transportation Office by phone for details. MIU offers 3 pickup and 4 drop-off times to suit our students’ academic schedules.
