MIU Faculty of Pharmacy Promotes Community Health through Seasonal Influenza Vaccination Campaign

The Faculty of Pharmacy organised a seasonal influenza vaccination campaign on Tuesday, 13 October 2026, in collaboration with VBC. The campaign served faculty members, teaching assistants, staff, students, and university alumni, with 116 members of the MIU community receiving the vaccine.

The campaign offered Influvac Trivalent, manufactured by Abbott, at a discounted price of EGP 250 instead of EGP 322 per dose. Vaccinations were administered on campus in Room MG1 by VBC’s medical team. Participants also had the option to purchase the vaccine in specially designed packaging to maintain appropriate storage conditions, with guidance from the team on safe storage and transport.

DIMAS club students supported the organisation of the event and conducted an accompanying health awareness campaign. Their activities highlighted the differences between the common cold and seasonal influenza and the importance of vaccination in reducing the risk of influenza and its complications.

The initiative reflects the Faculty of Pharmacy’s commitment to promoting health awareness and disease prevention within the university community. The Faculty extends its appreciation to VBC and its medical team for their cooperation, and to DIMAS students for their efforts in organising the campaign and raising awareness.

كلية الصيدلة تعزز صحة المجتمع الجامعي بحملة للتطعيم ضد الإنفلونزا الموسمية

نظّمت كلية الصيدلة يوم الثلاثاء الموافق 13 أكتوبر 2026 حملة للتطعيم ضد الإنفلونزا الموسمية بالتعاون مع شركة مدينة اللقاحات والبيوتكنولوجي (VBC) واستهدفت الحملة أعضاء هيئة التدريس والهيئة المعاونة والعاملين والطلاب وخريجي الجامعة، وشهدت حصول 116 فردًا من الجامعة على اللقاح.
وقدّمت الحملة لقاح الإنفلونزا الموسمية الثلاثي Influvac Trivalent من إنتاج شركة Abbott بسعر مخفض قدره 250 جنيهًا بدلًا من 322 جنيهًا للجرعة. وتولّى الفريق الطبي التابع لشركة VBC إعطاء اللقاح داخل الجامعة بقاعة MG1 كما أُتيحت إمكانية شراء اللقاح في عبوات مخصصة للحفاظ على ظروف التخزين المناسبة مع تقديم الإرشادات اللازمة لحفظه ونقله بصورة سليمة.
وشارك طلاب DIMAS في تنظيم الفعالية وتنفيذ حملة توعوية تناولت الفروق بين نزلات البرد والإنفلونزا الموسمية وأهمية التطعيم في الحد من خطر الإصابة بالإنفلونزا ومضاعفاتها.
وتأتي هذه المبادرة في إطار التزام كلية الصيدلة بتعزيز الوعي الصحي والوقاية من الأمراض داخل المجتمع الجامعي. وتتوجّه الكلية بالشكر إلى شركة VBC وفريقها الطبي على تعاونهم وإلى طلاب DIMAS على جهودهم في تنظيم الحملة ونشر الوعي الصحي.
