كلية الصيدلة تنظم مؤتمرها العلمي الطلابي السابع “الذكاء الاصطناعي: تغيير العقول، بناء المستقبل”

في ضوء استراتيجية كلية الصيدلة جامعة مصر الدولية لمواكبة التطور العلمى الحديث وتزويد خريجيها بالمعرفة والمهارات التي تؤهلهم للمنافسة فى سوق العمل، نظمت الكلية مؤتمرها العلمي الطلابي السابع بعنوان “الذكاء الاصطناعي” يوم السبت الموافق 16 سبتمبر 2023.

حضر المؤتمر الاستاذ الدكتور ممدوح غراب، محافظ الشرقية، والأستاذ الدكتور ماهر الدمياطى، رئيس لجنة قطاع الدراسات الصيدلية بالمجلس الأعلى للجامعات، والأستاذ الدكتور أيمن الخطيب، نائب رئيس هيئة الدواء المصرية، والاستاذ الدكتور غادة على يونس رئيس الإدارة المركزية للشئون الصيدلية بوزارة الصحة والسكان، والأستاذ الدكتور محاسن فرغلى، قائم بعمل رئيس جامعة مصر الدولية، والأستاذ الدكتور أحمد عماد الجندى، نائب رئيس الجامعة لشئون التعليم والطلاب، بالإضافة إلى عمداء بعض كليات الصيدلة وممثلين عن شركات الادوية ووزارة الصحة وبعض الجمعيات الدولية والمراكز العلمية.

وقد القى الاستاذ الدكتور سامى عمارة، عميد الكلية، كلمة الافتتاح مرحبًا بالسادة الحضور ووجه كلمة للطلاب لتشجيعهم على تطوير قدراتهم العلمية والمساهمة فى تحسين جودة الرعاية الصحية في مصر. ودارت محاور المؤتمر حول أهمية الذكاء الاصطناعي فى خدمة مجالات الصيدلة. وشارك الطلاب فى المؤتمر بعرض اثنتي عشرة مشروعًا يتضمن تطبيقات الذكاء الاصطناعي في الصيدلة الاكلينيكية وعلم الادوية والسموم وتصميم المركبات الدوائية بالإضافة الى تكنولوجيا الصناعات الدوائية.

وشاركت نخبة من السادة الأساتذة بكليات الصيدلة في لجان التحكيم لاختيار أفضل المشاريع المقدمة. وفى ختام الحفل، تم تكريم الفائزين وتوزيع شهادات التقدير على جميع المشاركين، إضافة إلى تقديم دروع للفرق الفائزة.

MIU Faculty of Pharmacy Organizes its Seventh Senior Students Scientific Conference “Artificial Intelligence: Shaping Minds, Changing Future.”

In light of its strategy to keep pace with modern scientific development and provide its graduates with the knowledge and skills that qualify them to compete in the labor market, MIU Faculty of Pharmacy organized its seventh Senior Students Scientific Conference titled “Artificial Intelligence: Shaping Minds, Changing Future” on Saturday, September 16, 2023.

The conference was attended by Professor Dr. Mamdouh Ghorab, Governor of Sharkia, Professor Dr. Maher Al-Damiati, Head of the Pharmaceutical Studies Sector at the Supreme Council of Universities, Professor Dr. Ayman Al-Khatib, Deputy Head of the Egyptian Pharmaceutical Authority, Professor Dr. Ghada Ali Younis, Head of the Central Administration for Pharmaceutical Affairs at the Ministry of Health and Population, Professor Dr. Mahasen Farghaly, Acting President of Misr International University, and Professor Dr. Ahmed Imad El Gendy, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, in addition to the deans of some faculties of pharmacy and representatives of pharmaceutical companies, the Ministry of Health, international associations and scientific centers.

Professor Dr. Sami Emara, Dean of the Faculty, delivered the opening speech, welcoming the distinguished guests and addressing the students to encourage them to develop their scientific abilities and contribute to improving the quality of health care in Egypt. The conference topics revolved around the importance of artificial intelligence in serving the various fields of pharmacy practice. Pharmacy seniors presented twelve projects that included applications of artificial intelligence in clinical pharmacy, pharmacology, toxicology, drug compound design, in addition to pharmaceutical industry technology.

A panel of pharmacy professors was convened to select the most outstanding projects presented during the conference. At the end of the ceremony, the winners were honored, and certificates of appreciation were distributed to all participants, in addition to presenting shields to the winning teams.

“يوم تكريم طلاب الصيدلة: الاحتفال بتميز الطلاب”

أقامت كلية الصيدلة بجامعة مصر الدولية يومها السنوي لتكريم طلاب الصيدلة يوم 28 مايو. يهدف هذا الحدث إلى تكريم طلاب الصيدلة المتميزين تقديرًا لأدائهم المتميز في جميع المجالات.

نظمت لجنة الإعلام والموقع الإلكتروني بكلية الصيدلة هذه الاحتفالية تحت رعاية أ.د. أحمد عماد نائب رئيس الجامعة لشؤون التعليم والطلاب وأ.د. سامي عمارة عميد كلية الصيدلة.

خلال هذا الحدث، تم تكريم الطلاب المتفوقين من جميع الدفعات بسبب إنجازاتهم المتميزة. كما تم تكريم الفرق التي تفوقت في مشروع الحركيات الدوائية السريرية، وكذلك أولئك الذين أظهروا إبداعًا استثنائيًا في تنفيذ مشاريع ثنائية وثلاثية الأبعاد في مجال الكيمياء العضوية. علاوة على ذلك، تم تكريم الطلاب المشاركين في مشروع دورة الإسعافات الأولية.

بالإضافة إلى ذلك، كرمت الكلية اثنين من طلابنا هذا العام على مشاركتهما في “المسابقات الدولية للقضايا المهنية I2C2” التي نظمتها جامعة فيرجينيا كومنولث. و تم تكريم ستة طلاب من الفرقة الرابعة لمشاركتهم وترشيحهم في نهائيات “تحدي الابتكار في مجال الاستدامة الدوائية” خلال المؤتمر العلمي الدولي الحادي عشر لـ.FOPCU

كما تم تكريم طلاب كلية الصيدلة المشاركين بمؤتمر ومعرض Duphat الثامن والعشرين. وكان الدعم الثابت الذي قدمه طلابنا خلال عملية الاعتماد من مجلس اعتماد التعليم المعتمد (ACPE) موضع تقدير كبير.

وقمنا أيضًا بتكريم طلاب الصيدلة الذين أظهروا مهارات استثنائية في ريادة الأعمال من خلال إدارة أعمالهم الخاصة، بالإضافة إلى الطلاب الذين تفوقوا في الألعاب الرياضية المختلفة والذين عرضوا مواهبهم الفنية بالمعارض المختلفة وشاركوا في الأنشطة الخيرية والاجتماعية.

تفتخر كلية الصيدلة في جامعة مصر الدولية بجميع طلابها الذين يواصلون تجاوز التوقعات وإثبات تميزهم.

Pharmacy Student Recognition Day: Celebrating Excellence in Curricular, Co-curricular, and Extracurricular Endeavors!

Misr International University’s Faculty of Pharmacy held its highly anticipated annual Pharmacy Student Recognition Day on May 28th. This special event aimed to honor our exceptional pharmacy students, recognizing their outstanding performance in curricular, co-curricular, and extracurricular activities.

The Media and Website Committee at the Faculty of Pharmacy organized this celebration under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Ahmed Emad, university, Vice President for Education and Students Affairs and Prof.Dr. Samy Emara, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy.

During the event, the top two students from each of the five pharmacy classes were commended for their outstanding achievements. Recognition was also given to the teams that excelled in the clinical pharmacokinetics project, as well as those who demonstrated exceptional creativity in the execution of 2D and 3D projects in organic chemistry assessment. Furthermore, an impactful project was undertaken as part of the first aid course, aiming to make a difference in the lives of the less fortunate. The students involved in this project were duly honored for their remarkable contributions.

In addition, two of our students received recognition this year for their participation in the “International Interprofessional Case Competitions I2C2” organized by Virginia Commonwealth University. Moreover, six fourth-level students were acknowledged for their participation and nomination in the finals of the “Pharma Sustainability Innovation Challenge” during the FOPCU 11th International Scientific Conference.

We also take pride in acknowledging the contributions of MIU pharmacy students who presented at the 28th Duphat Conference and Exhibition. Additionally, the unwavering support of our students during the ACPE accreditation process was highly appreciated and recognized.

Last but not least, we recognized pharmacy students who demonstrated exceptional entrepreneurial skills through running their own businesses, as well as those who excelled in athletics, showcased their artistic talents in exhibitions, and actively engaged in charity and social activities. Their outstanding accomplishments were celebrated and acknowledged during this special day.

The MIU Faculty of Pharmacy is incredibly proud of all our students who continue to surpass expectations and demonstrate that the sky is truly the limit.

MIU Faculty of Pharmacy Industrial Visit to ACDIMA International Trading Company

As part of MIU Faculty of Pharmacy constant care for continuous learning, the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology organized an industrial visit for second year students on Sunday 21st of May, 2023. The students, accompanied with staff members, went to ACDIMA International Trading Company in 6th of October. The aim of this visit was to gain practical knowledge and technical skills in the field of drug production. The visit started with a session to get acquainted with the stages of drug production and quality control. It was then followed by a tour in the factory to observe all these stages starting from purchasing the raw materials until de-batching the final product.

Quality Management Systems in Pharmaceutical Industry

On May 3, 2023, Dr. Ola Abdel Kadir, Quality Consultant, visited the Faculty of Pharmacy and gave a lecture on quality management systems to fifth year Pharmacy students taking Quality Control course. During the lecture Dr. Ola held case discussions to provide students with actual problems encountered daily and means of handling them.

Dr. Ola’s wide range of industry expertise was a big addition to the students’ learning experience and an enrichment of their career prospects.

MIU Pharmacy Students Visit Giza Ambulance Centre

The Faculty of Pharmacy at MIU organized a visit to the Giza Ambulance Centre for 26 students on December 20, 2022. The visit was held in collaboration with the Egyptian Ambulance Authority Center, which provided an opportunity for the students to learn about the various departments of the authority and how to deal with emergency situations.

The ambulance staff first demonstrated the different departments of the authority in a meeting room, followed by dividing the students into groups. The students then entered the operating room and responded to real emergency calls, gaining valuable hands-on experience.

Additionally, the students were given a detailed explanation of the authority’s capabilities, including the river ambulance and motorcycle ambulance. The visit proved to be an enriching experience for the students, allowing them to gain practical knowledge and skills to aid them in their future careers

قامت مجموعة مكونة من 26 طالب وطالبة من كلية الصيدلة في 20 ديسمبر 2022 بزيارة ميدانية لهيئة الإسعاف المصرية بالجيزة حيث تعرف الطلاب على أقسام الهيئة المختلفة وطريقة التعامل مع بلاغات الطوارئ ثم تم تقسيم الطلاب الي مجموعات ودخلوا غرفة العمليات واستمعوا إلي مكالمات الطوارئ كما أستمعوا إلى شرح مفصل عن إمكانيات الهيئة المختلفة بما فيها الإسعاف النهري والموتوسيكل الإسعافي.

Annual Seniors Scientific Conference

The Faculty of Pharmacy, Misr International University, hosted the Annual Seniors Scientific Conference, “Navigating to the Future,” on August 7th at the Tolip Garden Plaza Hilton Hotel. The Conference was held in collaboration with Parkville Pharmaceutical Company.

Students presented their research findings through oral presentations and scientific posters under the supervision of faculty members. The conference research papers covered important topics in a variety of scientific research disciplines, including cardiology, nutrition, neuropharmacology, cancer treatment, microbiology, and nanotechnology.

All the presented research projects were evaluated by a panel of distinguished academics from the Faculty of Pharmacy at various Egyptian universities.

Furthermore, distinguished speakers gave speeches regarding the various pharmacy career paths that await future graduates.  Dr. Heba Anees El-shesheni, head of Inpatient Clinical Nutrition Services at the National Cancer Institute (NCI), gave a talk entitled “Clinical Nutrition: A Multispecialty Career “. 

Dr. Samar Mowafy, Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Faculty of Pharmacy, Misr International University, also gave a talk entitled “Studying Abroad: Tips for Getting a Scholarship “.  

Eva Pharmacovigilance Training Day

As part of the MIU annual Med Safety awareness campaign about patient safety and in collaboration with the International Society of Pharmacovigilance—Egypt (ISOP), the Office of Pharmacy Experiential Training (OPET) along with Eva Limitless organised a full pharmacovigilance training day in the Pharmacovigilance Centre.

The aim of the day was to provide students with distinguished training experiences in various pharmaceutical fields to become pharmacists capable of taking responsibility and accountability for drug therapy management.

Twenty senior Pharmacy students had the opportunity to learn about the drug reporting system and the pharmacovigilance aspects that ensure the safe, economical, and rational use of pharmaceuticals.

International Interprofessional Case Competition

MIU is pleased to announce that four of our medical sector students, two from the Faculty of Pharmacy and two from the Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine, have been selected to participate in the “International Interprofessional Case Competition (I2C2)”, organised by Virginia Commonwealth University.  

Interprofessional education (IPE) is a fundamental pedagogical approach that encourages teamwork and collaboration among healthcare students to provide patient care. Teams from diverse professions and prestigious universities from around the world are participating in the competition to provide the best treatment plan for a clinical case.

Misr International University is eager to provide early IPE training and experience to pharmacy professionals; thus enhancing its graduates’ leadership, collaboration, and communication competencies as members of healthcare teams, and promoting public health and wellbeing at the national and regional levels.
