Top MenuProfessor Paurav Shukla is visiting the Faculty of Business Administration and International Trade between October 2 and October 12, 2015. He is professor of Luxury Brand Marketing, Glasgow School for Business & Society, Glasgow Caledonian University, London, UK.
Professor Shukla possesses wide range of industry and academic experience. He has to his credit articles and research papers published and presented at national and international level conferences and seminars. He also serves as a track chair for the Marketing in Emerging and Transitioning Economies for the EMAC conference.
During his visit, Professor Shukla will contribute to teaching various topics to marketing major students mainly in three courses: Strategic Marketing, Brand Management, and Consumer Behavior.

Dr. Richard Lemm
After several successful visits to MIU, Dr. Richard Lemm, Professor of English Literature at the University of Prince Edward Island, Canada, is coming to MIU to give two literature courses to Al-Alsun students from 4/10/2015 till 18/10/2015. He is going to teach Shakespearean Studies and English Literature from the 17th Century to the 19th Century.
Mrs. Lee Ellen Pottie
Mrs. Lee Ellen Pottie, MA holder in English Literature and Creative Writing, is coming from the University of Prince Edward Island to deliver two courses for Al-Alsun students: English Grammar in Writing, and Conversation and Listening, from 4/10/2015 till 18/10/2015.
Dr. Azza El Remessy
Dr. Azza El Remessy, an associate professor from the University of Georgia, will visit the MIU Faculty of Pharmacy is October
Dr. El Remessy is the director of the Program in Clinical & Experimental Therapeutics at the College of Pharmacy in the University of Georgia. Her visit to MIU will extend from October 4 to October 15.
During her visit, Dr. Azza El Remessy will contribute to teaching the fourth year pharmacy students the endocrine disorders and their therapeutics. She will also be holding a presentation for the faculty.
Professor Rustin Greene Visit
A former TV director in Los Angeles and instructor of media production at James Madison University will be visiting MIU in September.
Professor Greene will be a distinguished visiting professor in the directing and documentaries classes of the Mass Communication department from September 25 to October 9.
Professor Greene is also offering a specialized workshop for the mass communication teaching assistants to train them on ideation techniques and proposal writing skills.
MCM establishes new student exchange program
The Mass Communication department has established a new student exchange program with Visiting Professor Shaun T. Schafer of Metropolitan State University (MSU) during his 6th visit to MIU. The student exchange program will offer transferable courses that allow Al-Alsun & Mass Communication students to spend a semester abroad at MSU’s Department of Journalism & Technical Communication (College of Professional Studies) in Colorado ,USA, without any delays in their graduation plans. During his two-week visit to MIU, Professor Schafer discussed the topic : “Egypt in Western Media” with highly engaged and interactive students of the Seminar of Current Affairs course (SER200). Furthermore, he conducted numerous lectures during a variety of courses on writing good editorials, preparing complete online news package, new trends in online news, and writing online press releases. Professor Schafer also held his first public lecture for the Mass Communication MA students on the latest research trends in the mass communication field in the United States. He discussed interesting PhD programs offered in the U.S. and all the different programs offered by the best universities with all their requirements. In addition, he discussed the means of reaching out to researchers in the U.S. for future research projects, highlighting researches of interdisciplinary nature.
Prof. Birud Sindhav
Between February 17th and March 2nd, 2018, Prof. Birud Sindhav visited the Faculty of Business Administration and International Trade. Professor Sindhav is Associate Professor of Marketing, University of Nebraska at Omaha, USA. Prof. His work is published in top marketing publications such as International Journal of Management Research, Journal of Marketing Channels, and Journal of Cases on Information Technology.
During his visit, Prof. Sindhav gave lectures in three marketing-major areas: Services Marketing, International Marketing and Marketing Strategy. He enriched the classes with his wide range of industry and academic expertise. Students benefited a great deal from such outstanding researcher and excellent instructor.
Naser Z. Alsharif, Pharm.D., Ph.D. Professor of Pharmacy Sciences Creighton University , School of Pharmacy & Health Professions
Prof. Dr. Naser Z. Alsharif, Pharm.D., Ph.D. Professor of Pharmacy Sciences visited the Faculty of Pharmacy, MIU, from February 24th – March 8th 2018. During this period, Dr Alsharif taught part of the Medicinal Chemistry II course to the third year pharmacy students’. He held two seminars on “Pharmacy Education and Practice” for pharmacy staff. The seminars defined active learning and summarized its techniques that are utilized in pharmacy schools. Also, key interactions required for the success of a course was discussed within the context of active learning.
Prof. Rowena Schwartz, Pharm D, BCOP, visited the Faculty of Pharmacy
Prof. Rowena Schwartz, Pharm D, BCOP, visited the Faculty of Pharmacy, MIU, from February 18th till February 22nd, 2018. During her visit, Dr Schwartz taught the 5th year pharmacy students the common oncologic diseases and their pharmacotherapeutic approaches. She also discussed the role of Clinical Pharmacy in the oncology domain, necessary chemotherapy patient follow up and counseling concepts that will lead to the advancement of health conditions in Egypt.

Prof. Ebtesam Ahmed, Pharm D, St John’s University, College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, New York, USA, visited the Faculty of Pharmacy, MIU, from September 29th till October 10th, 2019. During her visit, Dr. Ebtesam gave lectures to 5th year pharmacy students on a variety of medical topics such as Rheumatoid Arthritis, Hepatitis C and Inflammatory Bowel Syndrome. She effectively covered the recent guidelines and pharmacotherapeutic approaches used in management of these diseases.
