On Tuesday the 21^st of May 2024, MIU organized a convoy to Qaramous village in Abu Kabir Center, Sharkia Governorate, in coordination with the Population Unit in the governorate and the Regional Tourism Activation Authority. Three faculties took part in the convoy, Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine and Faculty of Business Administration and International Trade.

At the beginning of the day, all participants, including faculty members, teaching assistants, and students, visited one of the papyrus manufacturing workshops to see the manufacturing stages from seed to paper. They also visited the fields where papyrus is grown.

15 students from the first, fourth, and fifth years of the Faculty of Pharmacy, under the supervision of the Head of the Pharmacognosy Department and with the participation of the Faculty Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, gave an awareness lecture to the villagers on the use of medicinal plants and herbs and their side effects. At the end of the activity, some medicinal herbs were distributed to the villagers.

A group of interns, supervised by the Faculty of Dentistry Community Service and Environmental Development Committee Vice Dean, the Committee Chair, a supervisor from the Internship Administration and a representative of the International Dental Federation, conducted a workshop at the village’s medical center on how to improve oral health care for employees, workers, and villagers. They also demonstrated the correct way to clean the mouth and teeth. 150 toothpaste tubes and brushes were distributed to the villagers, who were invited to be examined and treated for free at the university’s Dental Clinics Complex. At the end of the day, satisfaction questionnaires were distributed to the workers and participating villagers. The satisfaction rate was 100%.

Sixteen papyrus workshop owners and workers attended a training session presented by a Professor of Marketing, Faculty of Business Administration and International Trade, along with three student volunteers from the faculty. The session focused on marketing principles, highlighting how to market papyrus effectively and increase sales and emphasizing the workshops’ unique competitive advantage of being the only producers of papyrus in the world. A post-session satisfaction survey revealed that over 90% of the participants were satisfied with the workshop.

قافلة الجامعة لقرية قراموص بمحافظة الشرقية

نظمت الجامعة قافلة يوم الثلاثاء الموافق 21/5/2024 إلى قرية قراموص بمركز أبو كبير بمحافظة الشرقية بالتنسيق مع وحدة السكان بالمحافظة والهيئة الإقليمية لتنشيط السياحة بمشاركة ثلاث كليات وهي كلية الصيدلة وكلية طب الفم والأسنان وكلية إدارة الأعمال والتجارة الدولية.

في بداية اليوم تم عمل زيارة لجميع المشاركين من أعضاء هيئة التدريس والهيئة المعاونة والطلاب إلى إحدى ورش تصنيع ورق البردي لمشاهدة مراحل التصنيع من البذرة إلى الورق. كما تمت زيارة الحقول التي تتم فيها زراعة نبات البردي.

قام عدد ١٥ طالب وطالبة من الفرق الأولى والرابعة والخامسة من كلية الصيدلة تحت إشراف رئيس قسم العقاقير وأخصائي صيدلي وبمشاركة وكيل الكلية لشؤون خدمة المجتمع وتنمية البيئة بإلقاء محاضرة توعية لأهالي القرية عن استخدام النباتات والأعشاب الطبية وأعراضها الجانبية. وفي نهاية النشاط تم توزيع بعض الأعشاب الطبية على أهالي القرية للاستفادة منها.

كما شاركت لجنة خدمة المجتمع وتنمية البيئة بكلية طب الفم والأسنان تحت إشراف السيد وكيل الكلية لشؤون خدمة المجتمع وتنمية البيئة ومقرر اللجنة ومشرف من إدارة تدريب الامتياز وممثل عن الإتحاد الدولي لطب الأسنان ومجموعة من طبيبات وأطباء الامتياز عن طريق عمل ورشة عمل في المركز الطبي عن كيفية تحسين الرعاية الصحية للفم والأسنان للموظفين والعاملين وأهالي القرية بالإضافة إلى عرض الطريقة الصحيحة لتنظيف الفم والأسنان. وتم توزيع عدد 150 (علبة معجون أسنان وفرشاة) على أهالي القرية وكذلك تم دعوتهم للكشف وتلقي العلاج بالمجان في مجمع عيادات الأسنان بالجامعة. وفي نهاية النشاط تم توزيع استبيانات رضا عن الزيارة على العاملين والمشاركين من أهالي القرية وقد بلغت نسبة الرضا 100% كما بلغت نسبة رضا أطباء الامتياز 100% عن الزيارة.

تتميز القرية بزراعة ورق البردي وينقصها التسويق لذا قام مدرس التسويق بكلية إدارة الأعمال والتجارة الدولية بالاشتراك مع ثلاثة من الطلاب بعمل محاضرة عن تسويق المنتجات لأصحاب ورش صناعة ورق البردي مع تسليط الضوء على كيفية تسويق ورق البردي وزيادة المبيعات. شارك في ورشة العمل ١٦ من أصحاب الورش والعاملين بها. وكانت نسبة استبيان رضا المشاركين 90%.
