Field Trip of Al-Alsun Students to Al Moez Street in Old Cairo

In an immersive experience aimed at connecting academic learning with Egyptian history, a group of Al-Alsun students enrolled in the Writing for Digital Media course, ENG 322, embarked on a field trip to Al Moez Street in Old Cairo on Monday, 21^st of October 2024. The trip was planned to fulfill an assignment in which students were required to write and present a travelogue about an interesting travel experience in an appropriate digital media format.

Students were guided through the street’s remarkable collection of historic mosques and palaces, enjoying the intricate designs and learning about the stories behind each building. The trip also included a visit to Khan El Khalili bazaar, where students interacted with local artisans and learned about traditional crafts.

The field trip to Al Moez Street not only enriched students’ understanding of Cairo’s history but also provided them with valuable material for their travelogues, which they successfully presented in their first class after the trip.

ذهب الطلاب المسجلون في مقرر الكتابة للإعلام الرقمي في قسم الألسن في رحلة ميدانية إلى شارع المعز بالقاهرة القديمة يوم الاثنين 21 أكتوبر 2024. وكان الهدف من الرحلة هو كتابة وتقديم قصة حول تجربة سفر مثيرة للاهتمام.
شاهد الطلاب العديد من المساجد والقصور التاريخية وتعرفوا على قصة كل مبنى. وتضمنت الرحلة أيضًا زيارة إلى سوق خان الخليلي حيث تفاعل الطلاب مع الحرفيين المحليين وتعرفوا على الحرف التقليدية.
عززت الرحلة الميدانية إلى شارع المعز من فهم الطلاب لتاريخ القاهرة وساعدتهم على كتابة قصصهم والتي قدموها بنجاح في أول محاضرة بعد الرحلة.
