انتهت زيارة أعضاء فريق لجنة زيارة تجديد الاعتماد الموقرة من قبل الهيئة القومية لضمان جودة التعليم والاعتماد لكلية الألسن والإعلام وذلك يوم الثلاثاء الموافق 27 فبراير 2024.

Three Faculty members from Al-Alsun Department participated in MIU’s prestigious conference “Creating a Sustainable Future: Innovations, Challenges and Opportunities” that was held on Saturday, 17 February 2024. The conference brought together experts and researchers from different universities to present research that serves the Sustainable Development Goals.

The Faculty members representing Al-Alsun Department are Dr. Sama Dawood, Dr. Shereen Ali and Dr. Hanan Sharaf. Their presentations helped shed light on how the SDGs can be attained through translation studies and literature research.

The participation of these members reflects Al-Alsun Department’s commitment to academic excellence and research contributions in the field of sustainability.

أعضاء هيئة التدريس بقسم الألسن في مؤتمر الاستدامة بجامعة مصر الدولية

 شارك ثلاثة من أعضاء هيئة التدريس من قسم الألسن في مؤتمر جامعة مصر الدولية “خلق مستقبل مستدام: الابتكارات والتحديات والفرص” الذي عقد يوم السبت 17 فبراير 2024. وقد جمع المؤتمر خبراء وباحثين من جامعات مختلفة لتقديم أبحاث تخدم أهداف التنمية المستدامة.

 أعضاء هيئة التدريس الذين يمثلون قسم الألسن هم د. سما داود ود. شيرين علي ود. حنان شرف. وساعدت عروضهم التقديمية في تسليط الضوء على كيفية تحقيق أهداف التنمية المستدامة من خلال دراسات الترجمة والأبحاث الأدبية.

 وتعكس مشاركة أعضاء هيئة التدريس التزام قسم الألسن بالتميز الأكاديمي والمساهمات البحثية في مجال الاستدامة.

في حدث فريد من نوعه، ستعرض كلية الألسن والإعلام الفيلم الوثائقي الحائز على جوائز عالمية “المتاهة” للمخرجة المصرية الشهيرة حنان راضي.

حنان راضي تركز في أعمالها على البعد الإنساني وتوثيق الفلكلور المصري وستستقبلها كلية الألسن والإعلام خلال الحدث. وهذا يقدم فرصة فريدة للطلاب لمعرفة المزيد عن صنع الفيلم والتفاعل مع المخرجة.

حقق فيلم “المتاهة” نجاحًا كبيرًا حيث حصل على الجائزة الأولى كأفضل فيلم في مسابقة Inter-Rives التابعة لمؤسسة COPEAM في عام 2020. وفاز بجائزة لجنة التحكيم من المهرجان القومي للسينما المصرية في عام 2021 وجائزة أفضل فيلم وثائقي في مهرجان اتحاد الإذاعات العربية في تونس في عام 2021 أيضًا.

In an exciting event for film enthusiasts, the Faculty of Al-Alsun and Mass Communication will screen the award-winning documentary “The Maze- El Mataha” by the acclaimed Egyptian director Hanane Radi on the 27^th of February. The film will be screened in room OOA from 11:30 am to 12:45 pm.

Hanane Radi, known for her focus on the human dimension and her dedication to documenting Egyptian folklore, will be present as a guest speaker during the event. This provides a unique opportunity for students to gain insights about the making of the documentary and engage with the director in a question-and-answer session.

“The Maze- El Mataha” has received notable recognition, including the first prize for Best Film in the Inter-Rives Competition, affiliated with the Permanent Conference of Mediterranean Audiovisual Operators (COPEAM) Foundation in Italy in 2020. Additionally, it received the Jury Committee Award from the National Egyptian Cinema Festival in 2021 and the Best Documentary Film Award at the Arab States Broadcasting Union Festival in Tunisia in the same year.

The screening of the documentary serves as a testament to the Faculty’s dedication to providing students with unique educational experiences and promoting their critical thinking skills, cultural awareness, and appreciation of art.

تستقبل أ. م. د./ مها فتحي قائم بأعمال عميد كلية الألسن والإعلام فريق لجنة المراجعة الخارجية لتجديد الاعتماد من قبل الهيئة القومية لضمان جودة التعليم والاعتماد خلال الفترة من الأحد الموافق 25 فبراير 2024 وحتى الثلاثاء الموافق 27 فبراير 2024 وستبدأ اللجنة تنفيذ برنامج الزيارة وفقًا للجدول الزمني المحدد عقب الاجتماع البروتوكولي مع القيادات الأكاديمية بالجامعة.

والوفد يضم الأستاذ الدكتور/ سحر محمد وهبي عبد الموجود المزلاوي (عضو) والأستاذ الدكتور/ صالح السيد عراقي إبراهيم (عضو) والأستاذ الدكتور/ أمل محمد أمين يوسف خطاب (عضو) و الأستاذ الدكتور/ أماني محمد شريف عبد السلام سليمان (ملاحظ).

The Faculty of Al-Alsun and Mass Communication held a workshop in cooperation with Al-Fanar Media, a renowned news organization that provides accurate and insightful news coverage. The “Media Literacy Workshop” was held from 21/1/2024 till 24/1/2024 and was attended by 10 MIU students from the Faculties of Business Administration, Pharmacy and Al-Alsun Department, as well as 7 students from other universities.
During the workshop, students learnt about the different types of media and how to evaluate the quality of news media productions. The workshop also enabled them to create reliable and engaging media content.
The workshop came as part of the Faculty’s ongoing mission to cooperate with industry leaders and to promote students’ knowledge and competencies in the fields of media and language, presenting them with different opportunities and career prospects.

كلية الألسن والإعلام تقيم ورشة عمل حول الثقافة الإعلامية

 أقامت كلية الألسن والإعلام ورشة عمل بالتعاون مع الفنار للإعلام وهي مؤسسة إخبارية شهيرة تقدم تغطية إخبارية دقيقة. أقيمت ورشة العمل في الفترة من 21/1/2024 حتى 24/1/2024 وحضرها 10 طلاب من جامعة مصر الدولية من كليات إدارة الأعمال والصيدلة وقسم الألسن، بالإضافة إلى 7 طلاب من جامعات أخرى.

 أثناء ورشة العمل تعرف الطلاب على الأنواع المختلفة لوسائل الإعلام وكيفية تقييم جودة المحتوى الإعلامي كما تمكن الطلاب من إنشاء محتوى إعلامي شيق ودقيق.

 وجاءت ورشة العمل كجزء من مهمة الكلية المستمرة للتعاون مع رواد الصناعة وتعزيز معارف وكفاءات الطلاب في مجالات الإعلام واللغة، وتزويدهم بفرص وآفاق وظيفية مختلفة.

Al-Alsun students enrolled in the Translation and New Technology Master’s Program at MIU have made significant research contributions as part of their coursework in the Machine Learning course.

The course has provided a platform for students to explore advanced topics such as text classification and sentiment analysis. Students have conducted research papers on how to professionally categorize newsgroups, distinguishing between authentic and fake news articles. Their contributions have also covered proposing techniques to automate the categorization of articles into diverse categories and conduct comprehensive sentiment analysis of tweets and Amazon reviews, enabling the machine to auto-differentiate between positive, neutral, or negative sentiments.

These research contributions underscore the interdisciplinary nature of Al-Alsun Master’s Program designed to respond to the advances in computer technology that have revolutionized translation studies and practice.

في تعاون جديد مع مجموعة iTranslate، شارك 18 طالبًا من قسم الألسن بكلية الألسن والإعلام في المعسكر التدريبي الشتوي للترجمة، في الفترة من 17 إلى 25 يناير 2024.

خلال المعسكر، مارس الطلاب الترجمة القانونية والتوطين والترجمة للأمم المتحدة، تحت إشراف السيد مؤمن راوي، المدير العام لشركة iTranslate. كما تم تعريفهم بأدوات الترجمة بمساعدة الحاسب الآلي.

أظهر الطلاب الاهتمام خلال التدريب وحرصوا على التفاعل مع المدرب وزملائهم.

وبعد انتهاء المعسكر التدريبي، علق السيد مؤمن راوي قائلاً:”نحن نؤمن بأن تعزيز تنمية الجيل القادم من المواهب هو أمر بالغ الأهمية. نحن نرى أن قسم الألسن بجامعة مصر الدولية يحرص على تنمية المهارات الاستثنائية لطلابه، ونحن واثقون من أن التعاون بيننا سيعود بالفائدة على الطرفين.”

ويفتخر قسم الألسن بتعاونه مع مجموعة iTranslate ويتطلع إلى المزيد من الفرص لطلاب القسم والخريجين.

In a new collaboration with iTranslate Group, 18 senior students at the Department of Al-Alsun, Faculty of Al-Alsun and Mass Communication, successfully participated in the Translation Winter Bootcamp, from January 17, 2024, to January 25, 2024.

During the camp, students practiced legal translation, localization and UN translation, under the supervision of Mr. Momen Rawi, iTranslate Managing Director. They were also introduced to Computer Assisted Translation Tools (CAT Tools) and SDL Trados Project Cycle.

Al-Alsun students eagerly interacted with their trainer and with their colleagues during the sessions.

After the end of the Winter Bootcamp, Mr. Rawi commented, “We believe that fostering the development of the next generation of talent is a crucial matter. We see the Department of Al-Alsun, at MIU as a breeding ground for exceptional minds, and we are confident that our collaboration would be mutually beneficial.”

The Department of Al-Alsun remains proud of its collaboration with iTranslate Group and looks forward to upcoming opportunities for our students and Alumni.

The Faculty of Al-Alsun and Mass Communication, in cooperation with the Faculty of Pharmacy, produced a video guide to raise community awareness about the importance of clearing the way for ambulances on the road. This comes as an attempt to address the third UN sustainable development goal of ensuring good health and promoting well-being by raising public awareness regarding emergency rescue efforts that contribute to saving many lives in danger. The video will be donated to the Egyptian Ambulance Organization for public use.
