The Faculty of Pharmacy embarked on a mission to raise awareness about diabetes at Fatima Al Zahraa Orphanage on Tuesday, November 21^st, 2023.

Faculty members, administrative staff, and 11 fourth and fifth-year students from the Faculty attended the event to raise the awareness of the orphanage’s children and staff about diabetes and its management.

The diabetes awareness campaign comprised various activities, including an informative lecture for the orphanage staff about diabetes in children, the proper use of diabetes medications, and how to monitor and manage the condition.

As part of the campaign, the orphanage staff’s blood sugar levels were measured. Additionally, the students engaged in different activities to educate the 20 children at the orphanage about healthy eating habits and ways to prevent diabetes. Candy Club, a participating company, contributed to the event by distributing healthy snacks among the children.

The visit exemplifies the commitment to community engagement and health education, reinforcing the importance of collective efforts in promoting well-being and awareness within society.

In a significant stride toward achieving Sustainable Development Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being), the Faculty of Pharmacy took the lead in hosting an informative and engaging seminar titled “Preventing Antimicrobial Resistance Together”. The event, held on Monday 13/11/2023, was attended by around 130 students.

The seminar featured esteemed members of the Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA) who shared valuable insights into the critical issue of antimicrobial resistance and its prevention. Under the slogan of “خليك واعي … بلاش مضاد حيوي من غير داعي”, the session aimed to emphasize the importance of responsible antibiotic use.

Antimicrobial resistance poses a significant threat to global health, requiring collaborative efforts for effective mitigation. The seminar included presentations and discussions by the EDA experts, shedding light on the different aspects of antimicrobial resistance and the role each individual can play in its prevention.

MIU is proud to have organized this event, contributing to the dissemination of knowledge and fostering a sense of responsibility among students, aligning with the global commitment to Sustainable Development Goal 3.

في خطوة مهمة نحو تحقيق الهدف 3 من أهداف التنمية المستدامة (الصحة الجيدة والرفاه) أخذت كلية الصيدلة زمام المبادرة في استضافة ندوة بعنوان «منع مقاومة مضادات الميكروبات معًا». شهدت الندوة التي أقيمت يوم الاثنين 13 نوفمبر 2023 حضور 130 طالبًا جامعيًا.

قدم الندوة أعضاء هيئة الدواء المصرية (EDA)، الذين تبادلوا رؤى قيمة حول مقاومة مضادات الميكروبات وسبل الوقاية منها. تحت شعار «خليك واعي … بلاش مضاد حيوي من غير داعي» هدفت الندوة إلى التأكيد على أهمية الاستخدام المسؤول للمضادات الحيوية.

تشكل مقاومة مضادات الميكروبات تهديدًا كبيرًا للصحة العالمية، وتتطلب جهودًا تعاونية للوقاية منها. وتضمنت الندوة عروضًا ومناقشات قدمها خبراء هيئة الدواء المصرية وسلطت الضوء على الجوانب المتعددة لمقاومة مضادات الميكروبات والدور الذي يمكن أن يؤديه كل فرد في الوقاية منها. تفخر جامعة مصر الدولية بتنظيم هذه الندوة وبالمساهمة في نشر المعرفة وتعزيز الشعور بالمسؤولية بين الطلاب، بما يتماشى مع الالتزام العالمي بالهدف 3 من أهداف التنمية المستدامة.

From 27/11/2022 to 1/12/2022 the Faculty of Pharmacy, in coordination with the Youth Leaders Foundation, a non-profit NGO, conducted awareness campaigns for MIU students about the Leaders Program. During this period, representatives of the Foundation were present daily from 10 am to 4:30 pm to give out application forms and conduct interviews to interested students.  

Two sessions were given by the Foundation representatives. The first was conducted on Sunday 27/11/ 2022, introducing the Program. The second was given on Wednesday 30/11/2022 by Mr. Ahmed Fathi, Executive Director of the Youth Leaders Foundation, about the activities of the Foundation and how they affect the various aspects of youth personalities.

قامت كلية الصيدلة بجامعة مصر الدولية بالتنسيق مع مؤسسة شباب القادة، وهي مؤسسة أهلية غير هادفة للربح، بعمل حملات توعية داخل الجامعة لطلاب الكليات المختلفة عن برنامج القادة، وذلك في الفترة من 27/11/2022 إلى 1/12/2022. وقد تواجد ممثلو المؤسسة خلال هذه الفترة يوميًا من الساعة العاشرة صباحًا إلى الرابعة والنصف مساء لتلقي استمارات التقديم للبرنامج وعمل المقابلات والاختبارات اللازمة للمتقدمين. وقد تم تنظيم جلسة تعريفية من قبل ممثلي المؤسسة عن البرنامج يوم الأحد الموافق 27/11/2022. كما قام الأستاذ أحمد فتحي، المدير التنفيذي لمؤسسة شباب القادة بإلقاء محاضرة عن أنشطة المؤسسة وكيفية تأثيرها في الجوانب المختلفة لشخصيات الشباب وذلك يوم الأربعاء الموافق 30/11/2022.
