MIU had the honor to be the sole sponsoring university for the 6th World Congress for Laser Dentistry held in Aachen, Germany. MIU laser center contributed scientifically with more than 15 oral presentations and one invited keynote speaker, and three sessions chair persons.

The Faculty of Pharmacy at Misr International University is honored to have Dr Sharon See, Pharm.D, M.S, Clinical Professor, St. John’s University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, as a visiting professor from September18th –29th, 2016 . During this period she will be teaching to senior students in the Pharmacotherapy I course various infectious diseases, with special emphasis on the new updates in the antibiotic treatment and the role of clinical pharmacists in providing Antibiotic Stewardship. Dr See will also present a session in the 11th Continuing Education Workshop of the Faculty of Pharmacy, that will be held on September 27 th, 2016.

Prof. Dr. Rowena Schwartz’s Visit to MIU

Prof. Dr. Rowena Schwartz, PharmD, BCOP, visited the Faculty of Pharmacy, MIU, from February 18th till March 2nd, 2017.
During her stay, Dr. Schwartz taught 5th year pharmacy students the common oncologic diseases and their pharmacotherapeutic approaches. She also discussed the role of Clinical Pharmacy in the oncology domain and necessary chemotherapy patient follow up and counseling concepts that will lead to the advancement of health outcomes in Egypt.
Dr. Rowena also presented two sessions in the 12th Continuing Education Workshop of the Faculty of Pharmacy that was held on Wednesday, March 1st, 2017 titled “New Frontiers in Cancer Care: Evolving therapies, optimizing therapies during care, and survivorship measures”. Her first topic was on “Optimizing Endocrine Therapy in Cancer: Enhancing Efficacy and Minimizing Toxicities”, while the second was on “Providing the Foundations for Patients and Caregivers in Cancer Care: Patient Counseling”.
Dentistry Students Summer Camp in RWTH Aachen University, Germany
Dentistry students at MIU went on an amazing summer camp in Aachen Dental Laser Center in Germany.
The students attended lectures given by world opinion leaders and keynote speakers in the field of laser dentistry.
They also enjoyed a hand-skills-workshop covering different dental disciplines; in addition to the state-of-the-art scientific program. The students took part in an unforgettable social program enjoying the historic essences of the city of Aachen besides visiting the historical cities: Amsterdam and Vaal in Holland.
Certainly they did not miss the three land borders between Germany, Belgium and Holland.
Prof. Phani Tej Adidam Visit
Prof. Phani Tej Adidam will be visiting the Faculty of Business Administration and International Trade from November 21st to November 30th, 2016.
During his visit, Professor Adidam will be teaching several topics in Marketing research, Brand Management, Advertising and Promotion, Sales Management, and Special Topics in Marketing.
Currently, Prof. Phani is Executive Management Education Professor and Chair of the Department of Marketing and Management, University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO), USA. Research interests of professor Adidam include marketing strategy, decision confidence, competitive intelligence, customer relationship management and sales management.
Professor Winfried Harzer visit
Prof Winfred Harzer, Ex- Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry and Prof of Orhtodontics, Technical University of Dresden, will be conducting his annual visit to the MIU campus from November 19th to 26th.
Professor Harzer will be giving a two day workshop for our intern students titled “straight wiring technique.” Furthermore, as a part of MIU’s continuing efforts to enhance teaching methodologies and develop its staff, Harzer will be giving a three-hour lecture titled “Risk and benefit of Tooth Transplantation.”
We look forward to having Professor Harzer for the ninth year in a row.
Professor Ebtesam Ahmed
Misr International University is always helping its students to develop their careers. MIU is honored to invite Professor Ebtesam Ahmed, Pharm.D, M.S, Clinical Associate Professor, St. John’s University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, MJHS Institute for Innovation in Palliative Care to give lectures to students of Faculty of Pharmacy.
Professor Ebtesam’s visit is from the 3rd to the 14th of April, 2016. During this visit she will be teaching senior students various oncologic diseases, with special emphasis on the role of the clinical pharmacist in providing supportive care in oncology.
Dr Ebtesam will also present a session in the 10th Continuing Education workshop for the Faculty of Pharmacy, that will be held on the 9th of April titled; “Integrating Targets in Oncology; A Perspective on Palliative, Supportive Care and Beyond.” The second workshop will be held in the Drug Information Center, at MIU, and will be directed to the oncology clinical pharmacists at the National Cancer Institute and Baheya Breast Cancer Hospital with the title:” Optimizing cancer pain management: stepping up to the challenge.”
CSC sophomore students went on a trip to the International Turnkey Systems Group Company
On May 15, 2018, CSC sophomore students went on a trip to the International Turnkey Systems Group Company (ITS) organized by Dr Fatma Helmy.
ITS is a leading integrated information technology and services solutions provider. ITS targets a wide range of industry segments to offer world-class IT solutions and has achieved remarkable success in implementing cutting-edge IT business solutions. The trip included a tour inside the company by the of head of the development sector, a speech given by the head of banking sector on the banking business and a live demo ofbanking systems demonstrated by the developers.
Prof. Shaun Shafer Visits MIU in April
Misr International University has invited Professor Shaun Shafer from Metropolitan State University of Denver to conduct workshops and guest lectures at MIU from April 1 to 16.
Professor Shafer will teach two specialized 12-hour workshops on “Sports Events Marketing” for the first time at MIU. The workshops are offered to Mass Communication and Business students. During his visit, Professor Shafer will also be guest lecturing in various Mass Communication classes.
Professor Shafer is the Faculty Associate to the Dean of the College of Professional Studies at the Metropolitan State University of Denver, as well as Program Coordinator and an Associate Professor of Journalism.
The upcoming visit will be Professor Shafer’s second visit to MIU. He was previously invited in 2012 to guest lecture in Mass Communication Journalism classes.
Professor Nasser Alsharif Visits MIU Faculty of Pharmacy
Misr International University invited Professor Naser Z. Alsharif to visit the Faculty of Pharmacy from February 26 to March 11, 2016. Prof. Alsharif, Ph.D., Professor of Pharmacy Sciences Creighton University School of Pharmacy & Health Professions was invited as a part of MIU’s continuing efforts to develop its educational process and provide the market with a generation of highly skilled and creative professionals.
During his visit, Dr. Alsharif taught third year pharmacy students the “Structure Activity Relationship of Antipsychotic and Antidepressant Drugs.” He also held several seminars for teaching assistant development on the following topics: “Role of the Pharmacist in Ambulatory Care” and “Principles of Toxicology in Chemical Research”.
Professor Alsharif also held two faculty development meetings with the department of medicinal chemistry where he did discussed the SAR of antihistamines and NSAIDS. To the curriculum development committee, he presented on “Integration of the Basic Science in the Curriculum” and new topics delivery.
