Prof. Phani Tej Adidam Visit

Prof. Phani Tej Adidam will be visiting the Faculty of Business Administration and International Trade from November 21st to November 30th, 2016.
During his visit, Professor Adidam will be teaching several topics in Marketing research, Brand Management, Advertising and Promotion, Sales Management, and Special Topics in Marketing.
Currently, Prof. Phani is Executive Management Education Professor and Chair of the Department of Marketing and Management, University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO), USA. Research interests of professor Adidam include marketing strategy, decision confidence, competitive intelligence, customer relationship management and sales management.

“Design Thinking” Lecture

The Faculty of Business Administration and International Trade, Marketing Department, is inviting Dr. Mohamed Radwan on Saturday, November 16th and Monday, November 18th 2019, to give a lecture on “Design Thinking” to our Marketing students.
Dr. Radwan is the founder and Managing Director of Platinum Partners, a strategic business development consulting firm. He is also a Corporate Governance Consultant to the International Finance Corporation (IFC) World Bank.

Association for Consumer Research 2019

On October. 18, 2019 Dr. Irene F. Shaker, MIU Marketing Department, presented a paper in ACR 2019 on “Conceptualizing and Mapping Parent-Child Interactions in the Intra-Family Decision-Making Process”. The conference was held in Atlanta, Georgia, from October 17 till October 20, 2019.
The research has a valuable contribution in enhancing the understanding of how the classic models of socialization work.

Pricewaterhouse Coopers Program

Misr International University’s Faculty of Business Administration and International Trade joined the “Go Audit” program for the 5th time as 16 students from the Accounting major participated in this session held in Los Angeles. The previous editions of the program were held in Barcelona, Belgium, and Portugal where a total of 75 MIU students participated in the PWC Program.

The program was held from the 6th to the 19th of August 2016, by PricewaterhouseCoopers, in Los Angeles aiming at measuring the improvements of the four learning dimensions (skill development, knowledge transfer, learning through experience, and demonstrating behavior) throughout the program.

In addition to business analysis, risk awareness and procedures, the competencies addressed in the program included product knowledge, business and market awareness, people management and teamwork, and persuasiveness and sales ability. The improvement in performance of the participants was measured as part of the appraisal process.

Being keen on developing its students’ skills; MIU always seeks the advantages of such programs and workshops.

“Design Thinking” Lecture

Design Thinking” That was the title of the lecture organized by the Department of Marketing, Faculty of Business Administration and International Trade.

The lecture was given on Monday 12th November, and Tuesday 13th November, 2018 by Dr. Mohamed Radwan, the founder and Managing Director of Platinum Partners, a strategic business development consulting firm. He is also a Corporate Governance Consultant for the International Finance Corporation (IFC) World Bank.

Dr. Mohamed Radwan showed MIU students Stanford design thinking process which consists of five phases: Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and finally Test.

Management Department Seminar: What PR Communications Does Not Say?

Misr International University hosted Mr. Aly Osman, Founder of Egy Funny Society Instagram page, in a speech on November 27, 2017

Mr. Osman is also a Founding Partner of the Influencers Social Media Agency and Managing Partner of Star AD Events Agency.  He gave a very important speech about life opportunities and how students should pursue them.  In addition, the talk included live case studies of how he benefited from his own life experience and he shared these experiences with the students so they could learn from them. About 201 students attended.

 

“Strategies for Recruitment & Selection” Workshop

MIU offered a workshop for management students under the name of “Strategies for Recruitment & Selection” by Dr. Sally El Feky on October 17, 2017.
The number of students who attended the workshop was about 45 Students. The workshop provided a brief discussion about recruitment and selection techniques, planning and forecasting, and internal and external sources of candidates. In addition, the workshop also discussed designing and methods of conducting an effective interview. Furthermore, the session provided a discussion on the topic of “competencies”.
The workshop offered a great experience for management students that will greatly benefit them in their careers in the future.

 

I Camp Workshop – INJAZ Egypt with CITI Bank

As Misr International University is always keen on enriching its students’ knowledge, the faculty of Business Administration and International Trade, Management department, organized a workshop under the name of “I Camp Workshop – INJAZ Egypt with CITI Bank” on Tuesday 11th of July, 2017.
The workshop aimed at getting the students to collaboratively address a specific business challenge and come up with ideas to solve the challenge using leadership, critical-thinking and team-work skills.
Given access to specific tools, information and resources the students were divided into teams that competed in proposing a solution to a business challenge within a very limited time frame. Thus it was such an enriching experience for the participating students.

Throughout the program, the students have developed both their interpersonal and their problem-solving skills, and have learned to work under very tight deadlines using the available market resources innovatively.

MIU-SMS Organizes “SMS Juniors”

Misr International University’s Stock Market Simulation organized a two-day academic event on February 19th and 20th, 2017 called “SMS Juniors” for high school students of Nefertari International School. The students attended a mini SMS simulation where they had the chance to be part of the virtual stock market as investors, bank owners, brokers, or mutual funds owners. In addition, SMS Academic Committee briefly explained the basics and nature of the stock market in a simple and entertaining way.

At the end of the virtual simulation, the participants received certificates signed by Dr. Wael Mostafa, Club Adviser and Prof. Dr. Tarek El Domiaty, Dean of Faculty of Business Administration.
