قامت كلية الألسن والإعلام بالتعاون مع كلية الصيدلة بإنتاج فيديو لتوعية المجتمع بأهمية تمهيد الطريق لسيارات الإسعاف. ويأتي ذلك كمحاولة لتحقيق الهدف الثالث من أهداف الأمم المتحدة للتنمية المستدامة “الصحة الجيدة والرفاه” من خلال رفع مستوى الوعي العام فيما يتعلق بجهود الإنقاذ الطارئة التي تساهم في إنقاذ العديد من الأرواح المعرضة للخطر. سيتم التبرع بالفيديو لهيئة الإسعاف المصرية للاستخدام العام.

في إطار سعي كلية الألسن والإعلام المستمر لتعزيز التواصل مع الجهات البارزة في سوق العمل، سيتم عقد ورشة عن الثقافة الإعلامية بالتعاون مع مؤسسة الفنار للإعلام (AFM)، وهي مؤسسة إخبارية رائدة غير ربحية هدفها تقديم تغطية إخبارية متوازنة ودقيقة في العالم العربي.

ويتم هذا التعاون مع مؤسسة الفنار بالشراكة مع مؤسسة فورد، وهي مؤسسة أمريكية تهدف إلى تعزيز رفاهية الإنسان.

ومن المقرر أن تعقد ورشة العمل في الفترة من 21 يناير إلى 24 يناير 2024. وستضم 10 طلاب من كليات مختلفة بجامعة مصر الدولية بالإضافة إلى 10 طلاب من جامعات أخرى.

الهدف الأساسي من الورشة هو تزويد الطلاب بفهم شامل لأنواع الوسائط المختلفة والقدرة على التمييز بينها. بالإضافة إلى ذلك سيتعرف الطلاب على أحدث الاتجاهات في وسائل الإعلام الجديدة والتحديات التي تطرحها. وستزود ورشة العمل الطلاب أيضًا باستراتيجيات لتحديد الأخطاء الشائعة وتجنبها مع الالتزام بالمعايير الأخلاقية والمبادئ التوجيهية في صناعة الإعلام.

As part of the commitment of the Faculty of Al-Alsun & Mass Communication to fostering collaborations with industry leaders, it is preparing to host a comprehensive “Media Literacy Workshop” in collaboration with Al-Fanar Media (AFM), a leading independent non-profit news organization dedicated to providing balanced, accurate, and insightful coverage in the Arab world.

This collaboration with AFM is held in partnership with the Ford Foundation, an American foundation aiming at advancing human welfare.

The Media Literacy workshop is scheduled to take place on MIU campus from January 21st to January 24th, 2024. It will be attended by 10 students from different MIU faculties, as well as 10 students from other universities.

The primary goal of the workshop is to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of various types of media and the ability to differentiate between them. Additionally, students will learn about the latest trends in new media and the challenges they present. The workshop will also provide students with strategies for identifying and avoiding common errors, all while adhering to ethical standards and guidelines set by the media industry.

عقدت كلية الألسن يوم الأربعاء الموافق 3 يناير 2024 جلسة مناقشة مشروع التخرج لطلبة المرحلة الرابعة والذي يحمل عنوان “اللغة في حياتنا”. ضمت لجنة المناقشة الدكتور مصطفى رياض، أستاذ الأدب في قسم اللغة الإنجليزية بكلية الآداب، جامعة عين شمس والدكتورة فيروز فؤاد، أستاذ مساعد اللغويات في قسم اللغة الإنجليزية بكلية الألسن، جامعة عين شمس.

وخلال هذا الفصل قام الطلاب بإجراء أبحاث تسلط الضوء على أهمية اللغة في حياتنا وشملت الموضوعات اكتساب اللغة الأولى والثانية مثل اللغة والجنس واللغة والذاكرة واللغة والمجتمع وتدخل اللغة الأولى في تعلم اللغة الثانية واللغة عند الأطفال المنعزلين وطرق التدريس التفاعلية.

ركز المشروع على الاستفادة من المهارات والمعرفة التي اكتسبها الطلاب خلال سنوات دراستهم لإنشاء محتوى يستعرض طرق اكتساب اللغة خلال المراحل العمرية وتأثيرها العميق على التطور اللغوي والاجتماعي.

تناول الجانب النظري من أبحاث الطلاب طرق اكتساب اللغة في المراحل العمرية المختلفة في حين تضمن الجانب العملي إجراء مقابلات مع أولياء الأمور والمعلمين والطلاب، والتي قاموا بترجمتها بعد ذلك مستخدمين مهاراتهم في ترجمة الشاشة.

وقام الطلاب بإنشاء موقع إلكتروني لعرض أبحاثهم والمقابلات التي أجروها بالإضافة إلى الألعاب التفاعلية التي صمموها لكل مرحلة.

On Wednesday, 3 January 2024, Al-Alsun Department welcomed Dr. Mostafa Riad, Professor of Literature, English Department, Faculty of Arts, Ain Shams University and Dr. Fayrouz Fouad, Associate Professor of Linguistics, English Department, Faculty of Al-Alsun, Ain Shams University as jurors in the Graduation Project committee.

The graduation project intended to shed light on the importance of language in our lives. The “Language in Our Life” project aimed to utilize skills and knowledge students gained along the past years to create content that explores language acquisition during different phases of our lives and its profound impact on both linguistic and social development.

In this project, students worked on monographs covering various topics related to First and Second language acquisition such as Language and Gender, Language and Memory, Language and Society, First Language Interference, Language in Isolated Children, and Interactive Teaching Methods.

Students conducted research on their assigned phases to gain an in-depth theoretical understanding and held interviews with those involved in these phases (parents, teachers, students, etc.) to gain a more practical insight from an experienced audience.

The interviews were conducted in Arabic and students employed their translation skills in subtitling them into English. Finally, they created a website showcasing their research, interviews, multimedia elements in addition to the interactive games they designed for each phase.

قام طلاب الألسن بزيارة مدرسة الغد المشرق لذوي الاحتياجات الخاصة كأحد متطلبات مقرر “موضوعات في اللغويات” يوم الأربعاء الموافق 13 ديسمبر 2023.

قام الطلاب بإعداد قائمة للملاحظات استخدموها أثناء مراقبة جلسات علاج النطق ودروس محو الأمية للأطفال المصابين بمتلازمة داون والتوحد والشلل الدماغي. وبعد ذلك حضر الطلاب جلسة تلقوا فيها إجابات على أسئلتهم من مدير المدرسة والمعلمين وأخصائيي النطق. أفاد الطلاب أن الرحلة الميدانية كانت مفيدة للغاية في الحصول على تجربة عملية تتوافق مع معرفتهم النظرية.

On December 13^th, 2023, Al-Alsun students visited AlGhad AlMoshrek School for Special Needs as a requirement for the ENG 427 Topics in Linguistics course.

The students prepared an observation checklist that they used while observing speech therapy sessions and literacy classes for children with Down Syndrome, Autism and Cerebral Palsy. This was followed by a session where the students received answers for their questions from the director of the school, the teachers and the speech therapists. The students reported that the field trip was highly beneficial in providing real-life observations that align with their theoretical knowledge.

The Department of Mass Communication at the Faculty of Al-Alsun and Mass Communication organized a seminar titled “Public Relations and the Development of Advertising Strategies.”

Moderated by Ranim Azzam and Ahmed Elanwar, both PR account managers at POD, Egypt’s leading integrated communications agency, the seminar discussed the latest trends in the field of PR. It also shed light on various aspects of integrated marketing communication that Mass Communication students can explore post-graduation. The discussion encompassed the challenges that fresh graduates may encounter and the internship opportunities available for senior year students at POD.

This initiative by the Department of Mass Communication underscores its commitment to fostering practical connections for students before graduation. By providing insights into the industry and addressing queries about post-graduation challenges, the department aims to equip students with the knowledge and experience needed for a seamless transition into their professional lives.

نظمت كلية الألسن والإعلام رحلة إلى السينما لطلاب مقرر URC 102 Cinema & Fiction يوم الخميس الموافق 30/11/2023. شاهد الطلاب فيلم The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes وهو النسخة السينمائية من الرواية التي تحمل نفس الاسم للكاتبة سوزان كولينز.

أثناء مشاهدة الفيلم قام الطلاب بالمقارنة بين الرواية والنسخة السينمائية المقتبسة منها واستخدموا تقنيات الاقتباس التي تعلموها في المقرر.

هدف الرحلة الميدانية إلى السينما كان أن يستخدم الطلاب مهارات التفكير النقدي بينما يستمتعون بوقتهم في تجربة تعليمية فريدة من نوعها.

The Faculty of Al-Alsun & Mass Communication organized a trip to the cinema for the students of the URC 102 Cinema & Fiction Course on Thursday 30^th November 2023. Students watched The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes which is the cinematic adaptation of the novel with the same name written by Suzanne Collins.

While watching the movie, students compared the novel to its adaptation, employing adaptation techniques they learned in the course.

The aim of the trip to the cinema was for students to employ their critical thinking skills while enjoying the day in a unique learning experience.
