Award-Winning Documentary to Be Screened at MIU
25 Feb 2024In an exciting event for film enthusiasts, the Faculty of Al-Alsun and Mass Communication will screen the award-winning documentary “The Maze- El Mataha” by the acclaimed Egyptian director Hanane Radi on the 27th of February. The film will be screened in room OOA from 11:30 am to 12:45 pm.
Hanane Radi, known for her focus on the human dimension and her dedication to documenting Egyptian folklore, will be present as a guest speaker during the event. This provides a unique opportunity for students to gain insights about the making of the documentary and engage with the director in a question-and-answer session.
“The Maze- El Mataha” has received notable recognition, including the first prize for Best Film in the Inter-Rives Competition, affiliated with the Permanent Conference of Mediterranean Audiovisual Operators (COPEAM) Foundation in Italy in 2020. Additionally, it received the Jury Committee Award from the National Egyptian Cinema Festival in 2021 and the Best Documentary Film Award at the Arab States Broadcasting Union Festival in Tunisia in the same year.
The screening of the documentary serves as a testament to the Faculty’s dedication to providing students with unique educational experiences and promoting their critical thinking skills, cultural awareness, and appreciation of art.
