On Sunday the 12th of May, Al-Alsun students visited AlGhad AlMoshrek School for Special Needs as part of their Topics in Linguistics Course. They observed speech therapy sessions and language classes for children with Down Syndrome and Autism. The students also had a Q&A session with the director of the school, the teachers and the speech therapists.
The visit was in line with Al-Alsun’s commitment to bridging the gap between theory and practical application, providing students with valuable real-world experiences.

قام طلاب الألسن يوم الأحد الموافق 12 مايو بزيارة مدرسة الغد المشرق لذوي الاحتياجات الخاصة كأحد متطلبات مقرر “موضوعات في اللغويات”. وقاموا بحضور جلسات علاج النطق ودروس اللغة للأطفال المصابين بمتلازمة داون والتوحد. كما تمكن الطلاب من طرح أسئلتهم على مدير المدرسة والمعلمين.
وتؤكد الزيارة على التزام قسم الألسن بتزويد الطلاب بتجارب واقعية مفيدة.
On Monday the 22nd of April, the Training, Evaluation and Research Writing Center organized a thrilling General Knowledge and Talent Competition on campus. The event showcased the exceptional abilities and knowledge of the university students, leaving the audience in awe and admiration.
The Talent Competition featured a diverse array of performances that captivated the crowd. Students demonstrated their skills in singing, playing music, and acting. The stage came alive with exciting melodies, and entertaining songs as the participants left no stone unturned to impress the judges and the enthusiastic audience.
In the General Knowledge Competition, students from various faculties tested their knowledge across a wide range of subjects, including history, science, literature, and more. The competition was a thrilling battle of wits, with participants taking pride in their quick thinking, depth of knowledge, and strategic reasoning.
The competitions drew an enthusiastic audience, including fellow students and faculty members, all eager to witness the incredible talents and knowledge on display. The winners of both competitions received financial rewards and recognition for their outstanding achievements.

في يوم الاثنين الموافق 22 أبريل نظم مركز التدريب والتقييم وكتابة الأبحاث مسابقة مثيرة للمواهب والمعلومات العامة في الحرم الجامعي، حيث استعرض طلاب الجامعة قدراتهم ومعارفهم الاستثنائية مما أثار إعجاب الحضور.
وتضمنت مسابقة المواهب عروضًا متنوعة شملت الغناء وعزف الموسيقى والتمثيل.
في حين أظهر الطلاب في مسابقة المعلومات العامة معارفهم في العديد من المجالات شملت التاريخ والعلوم والأدب وغيرها.
وحضر المسابقة زملاء الطلاب المشاركين وأعضاء هيئة التدريس والهيئة المعاونة الذين كانوا جميعًا حريصين على مشاهدة المواهب التي يتمتع بها طلاب الجامعة من مختلف الكليات وتشجيعهم على تنميتها. وحصل الفائزون في كلتا المسابقتين على مكافآت مالية وشهادات تقدير لإنجازاتهم المتميزة.

Dr. Shaun Schafer, Associate Vice President of Curriculum, Academic Effectiveness and Policy Development at the Metropolitan State University of Denver and distinguished professor in the Journalism and Media Production Department, enriched the Mass Communication Department with a two-week guest lecture series from February 17 to March 1, 2024.
Professor Schafer engaged students across various disciplines, including IMC, journalism, broadcasting, and comparative media postgraduate studies. He was particularly impressed by the students’ active participation and keen interest in the presented topics. The sentiment was mutual, with students and instructors expressing a strong desire for a repeat experience.

قام الدكتور شون شيفر نائب الرئيس للمناهج والفعالية الأكاديمية وتطوير السياسات في جامعة متروبوليتان ستيت في دنفر والأستاذ المتميز في قسم الصحافة والإنتاج الإعلامي بإثراء قسم الإعلام بسلسلة محاضرات لمدة أسبوعين اعتبارًا من 17 فبراير إلى 1 مارس 2024.
حاضر البروفيسور شيفر في عدة مقررات وأعرب عن إعجابه بالمشاركة النشطة للطلاب والاهتمام الشديد بالموضوعات المقدمة. وكانت المشاعر متبادلة حيث أعرب الطلاب وأعضاء هيئة التدريس والهيئة المعاونة عن رغبة قوية في تكرار التجربة.

سيستضيف قسم الألسن يوم الأحد الموافق 19 مايو في الساعة 11:30 في غرفة OOA الكاتبة البارزة لكتب الأطفال منى لملوم في ندوة حول عالم أدب الطفل.
تأتي هذه الندوة كجزء من مهمة قسم الألسن في تعزيز المواهب الأدبية وتعزيز حب الأدب بين الطلاب.
On Wednesday, April 24th, Al-Alsun senior students went on a memorable trip to the Center for Documentation of Cultural and Natural Heritage (CULTNAT). The aim of the trip was two-fold: to deepen students’ appreciation of language by exploring its power in narrating history and to get introduced to the latest digital technologies employed by CULTNAT in its mission to document Egypt’s rich historical and natural treasures.
The students were welcomed by CULTNAT staff and given a comprehensive tour of the Center’s facilities. The tour included an immersive experience that transported them through time with a 360-degree panorama showcasing Egypt’s history. The students also explored the Micro Gallery, where they had the chance to interact with information through augmented reality technology. The innovative approach followed by CULTNAT fostered a stimulating and informative environment, making the trip both educational and engaging.
The students were tasked with collecting terminology related to Egyptian history to be used in translation passages. They were also instructed to focus on historical figures and landmarks as the focal themes for their literary assignments.
طلاب الألسن في زيارة لمركز توثيق التراث الحضاري والطبيعي
قام طلاب السنة النهائية في كلية الألسن في يوم الأربعاء الموافق 24 أبريل، بزيارة لمركز توثيق التراث الحضاري والطبيعي بهدف تنمية تقدير الطلاب للغة باعتبارها أداة فعالة في رواية التاريخ والتعرف على أحدث التقنيات الرقمية التي يستخدمها المركز في توثيق كنوز مصر التاريخية والطبيعية.
خلال الزيارة، قام الطلاب بجولة تعريفية في أرجاء المركز المختلفة، اطلعوا خلالها على معروضات قيمة تسلط الضوء على تاريخ مصر الحضاري والطبيعي. وشملت الجولة عرض بانوراما التراث، وهو عرض تفاعلي يقدم رحلة عبر الزمن لاستكشاف تاريخ مصر عبر العصور المختلفة. كما زار الطلاب قاعة الميكرو جاليري، حيث تمكنوا من التفاعل مع المعلومات باستخدام تقنية الواقع المعزز. وقد أدى النهج المبتكر الذي اتبعه المركز إلى خلق بيئة محفزة وغنية بالمعلومات، مما جعل الرحلة تعليمية وممتعة في نفس الوقت.
تم تكليف الطلاب بجمع مصطلحات تتعلق بالتاريخ المصري لاستخدامها في الترجمة. كما ركزوا على الشخصيات والمعالم التاريخية لتكون محور تكليفات في مقررات الأدب.

طلاب الألسن يقضون فصلًا دراسيًا في كندا
تهنئ كلية الألسن الطالبة سلسبيل ياسر على قضائها فصلًا دراسيًا متميزًا في جامعة برنس إدوارد أيلاند بكندا.
كانت التجربة مثمرة حيث أظهرت الطالبة تفانيها وتميزها الأكاديمي وبذلك مثلت جامعة مصر الدولية خير تمثيل.
وإذ يعبر قسم الألسن عن فخره باجتهاد الطالبة ويتمنى أن يلتحق المزيد من طلابه في البرامج الدولية لما لها من أثر إيجابي على مسيرتهم الأكاديمية.
With the aid of AR technology, Al-Alsun students taking Shakespearean Studies and Survey of English Literature II courses experienced Shakespeare’s plays in a new and captivating way through the interactive game entitled “Play the Knave”. This unique experience combines augmented reality with motion capture technology, allowing students to step into the shoes of Shakespearean characters. Players design their own performance by selecting a scene, choosing avatars, and even picking their virtual theater space. Then, they deliver their lines in a Karaoke-style format, with the game transforming their movements into real-time actions performed by their 3D avatars on screen. This immersive and interactive experience helps students gain a better understanding of Shakespeare’s works and develop their communication skills and teamwork.

بمساعدة تقنية الواقع المعزز تمكن طلاب قسم الألسن الذين يدرسون مقرري “دراسات شكسبير” و”دراسة الأدب الإنجليزي 2″ من تعلم المزيد عن مسرحيات شكسبير بطريقة جديدة من خلال اللعبة التفاعلية بعنوان .”Play the Knave” باستخدام الواقع المعزز تمكن الطلاب من أن يحلوا محل شخصيات شكسبير حيث يختار الطلاب المشهد والشخصيات وحتى مساحة المسرح الافتراضية الخاصة بهم. تساعد هذه التجربة التفاعلية الطلاب على اكتساب فهم أفضل لأعمال شكسبير وكذلك تطوير مهارات الاتصال والعمل الجماعي الخاصة بهم.
Mass Communication students went on an enriching field trip to Islamic and Coptic Museums on Wednesday February 28, as part of the Introduction to Applied Arts course. The trip provided students with unique insights into the cultural heritage of both the Islamic and Coptic civilizations. Students had the opportunity to witness the diversity of artistic expression and learn about the various materials, tools, and processes used in creating the artworks. This exposure aimed to broaden their artistic horizons and inspire their creative endeavors. The field trip came as a part of the Faculty of Al-Alsun and Mass Communication ongoing mission to provide students with unique educational experiences while fostering creativity, critical thinking, and cross-cultural appreciation.
طلاب الإعلام في رحلة ثقافية إلى المتحفين الإسلامي والقبطي
ذهب طلاب قسم الإعلام في رحلة ميدانية إلى المتحفين الإسلامي والقبطي كجزء من مقرر “مقدمة إلى الفنون التطبيقية” يوم الأربعاء الموافق 28 فبراير 2024. قدمت الرحلة للطلاب رؤى فريدة حول التراث الثقافي الغني لكل من الحضارتين الإسلامية والقبطية. أتيحت للطلاب فرصة مشاهدة الأعمال الفنية المختلفة والتعرف على مختلف المواد والأدوات والعمليات المستخدمة في إنشاء هذه الأعمال الفنية بهدف توسيع آفاقهم الفنية والإبداعية. تأتي هذه الرحلة كجزء من رسالة كلية الألسن والإعلام المستمرة لتزويد الطلاب بتجارب تعليمية فريدة من نوعها وتعزيز إبداعهم ومهاراتهم في التفكير النقدي.

Held on Monday, 26th February 2024, on MIU campus, the session provided attendees with practical strategies and tips to elevate their business game.

أما السيدة إريكا ويد، مدير تطوير الأعمال في iTranslate، والتي تتمتع بخبرة واسعة في مجال الترجمة داخل وخارج مصر، فقد تناولت التحديات الرئيسية التي يواجهها المترجمون المحترفون في سوق العمل حاليًا. استعرضت السيدة ويد بعض النصائح العملية حول كيفية التغلب على التحديات واستغلال الفرص لتحقيق النجاح.
