Students from the Computer-Assisted Translation course visited the “Forever is Now” contemporary art exhibition held at the Giza Pyramids with the aim of creating a “Bilingual Digital Guide”, enhancing their copywriting and translation skills. 

Students explored the artwork and installations, documenting the trip through photos and interviews with both artists and curators. This offered them a unique opportunity to admire the blend of ancient history and modern art and gain a deeper understanding of the cultural significance of the Pyramids of Giza.

قام طلاب مقرر “الترجمة بمساعدة الكمبيوتر” بزيارة معرض الفن المعاصر الذي أقيم في أهرامات الجيزة بهدف كتابة دليل رقمي باللغة العربية والإنجليزية لتعزيز مهاراتهم في كتابة النصوص والترجمة.
استكشف الطلاب الأعمال الفنية في المعرض وقاموا بتوثيق الرحلة من خلال الصور والمقابلات مع الفنانين. وقد أتاح لهم ذلك فرصة لاكتساب فهم أعمق للأهمية الثقافية لأهرامات الجيزة.

The English Language Program at MIU organized a trip for Freshman I students to watch the critically acclaimed movie, “The Wild Robot,” at Point 90 Cinema. To enhance their critical thinking skills, students engaged in a post-movie discussion to analyze the film’s themes, characters and narrative techniques. This analysis serves as a foundation for their upcoming essay writing assignment.

رحلة سينمائية لطلاب مقرر Freshman I

نظم برنامج اللغة الإنجليزية في جامعة مصر الدولية رحلة لطلاب مقرر Freshman I لمشاهدة فيلم “The Wild Robot” لتعزيز مهارات التفكير النقدي لديهم. شارك الطلاب في مناقشة بعد الفيلم لتحليل موضوعاته وشخصياته مما سيساعدهم في كتابة المقالات القادمة.

Through the integration of AR technology, students enrolled in the “Survey of English Literature II” course had the opportunity to explore classic literature in a dynamic and interactive way. Using the innovative game Play the Knave, students took on the roles of characters from Henrik Ibsen’s A Doll’s House and performed key scenes through animated avatars, bringing the play’s dramatic moments to life.

By choosing their own avatars and performing scenes, students were able to creatively embody the characters and explore the themes of the play in a modern and technologically enhanced setting.

من خلال دمج تقنية الواقع المعزز أتيحت للطلاب المسجلين في مقرر “دراسة الأدب الإنجليزي 2” الفرصة لاستكشاف الأدب الكلاسيكي بطريقة تفاعلية. باستخدام اللعبة المبتكرة Play the Knave تولى الطلاب أدوار شخصيات من مسرحية A Doll’s House لهنريك إبسن وقاموا بتمثيل المشاهد الرئيسية في المسرحية.
ومن خلال اختيار استخدام تكنولوجيا الواقع المعزز تمكن الطلاب من تجسيد الشخصيات بشكل إبداعي واستكشاف موضوعات المسرحية بطريقة عصرية.

On Monday, October 21, 2024, Mr. Yasser Mustafa, a researcher and consultant in the field of capacity development of civil society organizations, gave a seminar organized by the Faculty of Al-Alsun and Mass Communication Community Service Committee on “How to Combat Corruption in the Light of Social Transformations and Moral Values”.

The seminar aligned with the 16th SDG goal that acknowledges the importance of anti-corruption as an institutional principle and with Egypt’s 2030 vision.

ندوة توعوية حول مكافحة الفساد

نظمت لجنة خدمة المجتمع بكلية الألسن والإعلام ندوة بعنوان “كيفية مكافحة الفساد في ظل التحولات الاجتماعية والقيم الأخلاقية” يوم الاثنين الموافق 21 أكتوبر 2024 ألقاها الأستاذ ياسر مصطفى الباحث والمستشار في مجال تنمية قدرات منظمات المجتمع المدني.
وجاءت الندوة تماشيًا مع الهدف السادس عشر من أهداف التنمية المستدامة الذي يؤكد على أهمية مكافحة الفساد كمبدأ مؤسسي ورؤية مصر 2030.

On Sunday 20th of October 2024, Al-Alsun Department has incorporated AI technology into the “Phonetics in Practice” course. Students learnt to identify specific English sounds in AI generated content, enhancing their practical skills and theoretical understanding of English sounds and patterns. This initiative marks an exciting development in the use of AI for language education and comes in alignment with the department’s commitment to provide its students with interactive, engaging learning experiences.

يوم الأحد 20 أكتوبر 2024 قام قسم الألسن باستخدام تقنية الذكاء الاصطناعي في مقرر “الصوتيات” حيث تعلم الطلاب التعرف على أصوات إنجليزية محددة في المحتوى الذي تم إنشاؤه بواسطة الذكاء الاصطناعي مما عزز مهاراتهم العملية وفهمهم النظري لأصوات اللغة الإنجليزية. تؤكد هذه المبادرة على التزام القسم بتقديم تجربة تعليمية تفاعلية للطلاب.

On Tuesday, the 22^nd of October, Al-Alsun Department had the pleasure of hosting Pablo Garcia, an instructor at the Instituto Cervantes – Spanish Cultural Center.

Garcia shared insights into the rich Spanish culture, giving students a lot of interesting details from the history, traditions and contemporary life in Spain. His engaging presentation sparked lively discussions allowing students to practice introducing themselves in Spanish.

The event was a resounding success, highlighting Al-Alsun’s Department commitment to promoting cultural exchange and international collaboration in language learning.

استضاف قسم الألسن يوم الثلاثاء الموافق 22 أكتوبر بابلو جارسيا وهو مدرس بمعهد ثربانتس – المركز الثقافي الإسباني.
شارك جارسيا رؤاه حول الثقافة الإسبانية الغنية وقدم للطلاب الكثير من التفاصيل المثيرة للاهتمام عن التاريخ والتقاليد والحياة المعاصرة في إسبانيا. كما تفاعل جارسيا مع الطلاب وشجعهم على التحدث باللغة الإسبانية وساعدهم على تقديم أنفسهم باللغة الإسبانية.
وقد لاقت المحاضرة نجاحًا باهرًا وسلطت الضوء على التزام قسم الألسن بتعزيز التبادل الثقافي والتعاون الدولي في تعلم اللغات.

In alignment with the tenth goal of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, which aims to reduce inequality by promoting the inclusion of all individuals, including those with disabilities, the Community Service Committee of the Faculty of Al-Alsun and Mass Communication at Misr International University (MIU) welcomed five trainees from the Vocational Rehabilitation Department at the Friends of Bright Tomorrow Association for the Care of Special Groups on October 2, 2024.

The trainees were invited to participate in a practical training session at MIU’s photocopying department, focusing on paper photography techniques. Ms. Iman Al-Safoury, Head of the Vocational Rehabilitation Department at the Friends of Bright Tomorrow Association, expressed her appreciation for the practical training experience and requested future opportunities for on-campus practical photocopying training.

تمكين ذوي الاحتياجات الخاصة من خلال التدريب على مهارات التصوير في جامعة مصر الدولية

تماشياً مع الهدف العاشر من خطة التنمية المستدامة 2030 والذي يهدف إلى الحد من عدم المساواة من خلال دمج جميع الأفراد بما في ذلك الأشخاص ذوي الإعاقة استقبلت لجنة خدمة المجتمع بكلية الألسن والإعلام بجامعة مصر الدولية خمسة متدربين من قسم التأهيل المهني في جمعية أصدقاء الغد المشرق لرعاية المجموعات الخاصة في 2 أكتوبر 2024.

تمت دعوة المتدربين للمشاركة في دورة تدريبية عملية في قسم التصوير في الجامعة مع التركيز على تقنيات التصوير الورقي. وعبرت السيدة إيمان الصفوري رئيس قسم التأهيل المهني في جمعية أصدقاء الغد المشرق عن تقديرها لتجربة التدريب العملي وطالبت بفرص مستقبلية للتدريب العملي على التصوير داخل الحرم الجامعي.

Within the framework of the commitment of the Department of Al-Alsun, Faculty of Al-Alsun and Mass Communication, to developing the capabilities of its students and preparing them for the labor market, the Department, in collaboration with the Middle East News Agency (MENA), organized a 30-hour online intensive training program for 32 students during the period from 20 to 31 August 2023, under the title “International Organizations Translation.”

Ms. Sahar Nuhi, a translation trainer at MENA, undertook the task of training the participants on the latest methods and techniques in the field of translation, discussing various rules of accurately conveying meaning.

تدريب وكالة أنباء الشرق الأوسط لطلاب قسم الألسن

في إطار حرص قسم الألسن على تنمية قدرات الطلاب وتأهيلهم لسوق العمل نظم قسم الألسن بالتعاون مع وكالة أنباء الشرق الأوسط برنامج تدريب مدته 30 ساعة لـ32 طالبًا خلال الفترة من 20 إلى 31 أغسطس 2023، تحت عنوان “ترجمة المنظمات الدولية”.
تولّت الأستاذة سحر نوحي مدرب الترجمة في وكالة أنباء الشرق الأوسط مهمة تدريب الطلاب على أحدث الأساليب والتقنيات في مجال الترجمة وتحدثت عن أهمية الدقة في نقل المعنى.
