Faculty of Pharmacy Supports Abouelrish Japanese Hospital

On Saturday March 18, 2023, a delegate comprising 18 students & faculty members from Faculty of Pharmacy paid a visit to Abou El-Reesh Japanese Hospital, Cairo University. The visit comes in support of the effort of the hospital to deliver quality healthcare services.

The delegate was warmly welcomed by Prof. Dr. Hanaa El Karaksy, professor of Pediatrics, who expressed her appreciation for the university’s voluntary efforts & role in supporting institutions that contribute to the well-being of the community.

A monetary donation was presented, specifically designated to support the Pediatric Liver Disease Clinic. Students also distributed gifts to both the hospitalized children and the outpatients. Such contributions directly aid the hospital’s ongoing efforts to provide advanced medical treatments and exceptional patient care.

The Faculty of Pharmacy, MIU remains dedicated to its role in serving the community through strategic partnerships and initiatives. Their support to Abou El Reesh Japanese Hospital reflects their core values of integrity and social accountability, emphasizing their commitment to actively contribute to the improvement of healthcare services and the well-being of the community they serve.

Dr. Naser AlSharif – “Pharmacy Literacy: Essential for Career Planning”

The Career Counseling Committee at the Faculty of Pharmacy hosted a session for senior pharmacy students, titled “Pharmacy Literacy: Essential for Career Planning” on March 8th, 2023.  The event aimed to prepare future pharmacists to become competent pharmaceutical care providers. The session was given by Professor Naser Z. Alsharif, Pharm.D., M.S., Ph.D. Dean and Professor, School of Pharmacy, Lebanese American University and Former Professor of Pharmacy Sciences Creighton University, School of Pharmacy & Health Professions.

MIU Visits National Cancer Institute

On Tuesday March 14,2023, a delegation from Faculty of Pharmacy, 14 students & 2 Faculty members, paid a visit to National Cancer Institute. The visit comes as part of the Faculty’s commitment to social accountability, participation, and community service, as well as its  unwavering commitment to promoting the health and well-being of the public. The delegation was warmly received by Dr. Tarek Khairy, Deputy Director of the Institute for Community Service

During the visit, the delegation made a monetary contribution dedicated to the purchase of medications for the patients. Students also distributed gifts to both children and outpatients..

The visit, concluded with signing an agreement to foster the ongoing collaboration between the university and the institute to enhance the wellbeing of society and make a positive impact on the lives of cancer patients and their families.

Faculty of Pharmacy Signs MOU with Eva Pharmaceutical Company, Expanding Collaborative Opportunities in Pharmaceutical Industry

The Office of Pharmacy Experiential Training (OPET) at the Faculty of Pharmacy hosted a momentous Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony with Eva Pharmaceutical Company on Wednesday, March 8th, 2023. The MOU, signed by Prof. Dr. Samy Emara, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, and Dr. George Sadaan, People Operations Section Head at Eva Pharma, solidifies the partnership between the two parties.

The ceremony brought together distinguished representatives from Eva Pharma, such as Dr. Mina Fayez, People Operations Section Head, and Dr. Micheal Nagy Morgan, Commercial Account Manager. They were joined by MIU Vice-Deans, department heads, members of the Office of Pharmacy Experiential Training (OPET), Quality Assurance Unit, and faculty staff.

Held at the Eva Factory in 6th of October city, the event also featured an insightful tour of various factory departments, including the production lines and the Research and Development center.

This cooperation signifies a significant step towards fostering a stronger academic relationship between the Faculty of Pharmacy and Eva Pharma. It aims to provide valuable training opportunities for students in the pharmaceutical industry, enrich research collaborations, enhance educational programs, and foster the exchange of knowledge and experiences.

Faculty of Pharmacy Joins Hands with Limitless Care Pharmaceutical Company in a Monumental MOU Signing Ceremony

The Office of Pharmacy Experiential Training (OPET) at the Faculty of Pharmacy recently held a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony with Limitless Care Pharmaceutical Company on Wednesday, March 8th, 2023. The ceremony symbolized a significant milestone in the collaboration between the two institutions, solidifying their commitment to excellence in the field.

The MOU was signed by Prof. Dr. Samy Emara, the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, and Dr. George Sadaan, the People Operations Section Head of Limitless Care. The ceremony brought together a number of representatives from Limitless Care, including Dr. Mina Fayez, the People Operations Section Head, and Dr. Micheal Nagy Morgan, the Commercial Account Manager. Esteemed individuals such as Vice-Deans, department heads, members of the Office of Pharmacy Experiential Training (OPET), Quality Assurance Unit, and faculty staff also attended the event.

The ceremony took place at the Eva Pharmaceutical Factory in 6th of October city, offering faculty members the opportunity to explore various factory departments, including the production lines and Research and Development center. The MOU between the Faculty of Pharmacy and Limitless Care Pharmaceutical Company aims to provide MIU pharmacy students with training opportunities in emerging fields such as Pharmacovigilance and Medical Insurance. Faculty of Pharmacy Partners with El Ezaby Pharmacy to Enhance Student Training Opportunities

The Office of Pharmacy Experiential Training (OPET) at the Faculty of Pharmacy held a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony with El Ezaby Pharmacy on Monday, February 20, 2023.

The MOU was signed by Prof. Dr. Samy Emara, the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, and Dr. Tareq Hady, the People Development Director of El Ezaby Pharmacy.

The ceremony was attended by Dr. Ahmed El Shaffei, the Senior Manager of the Scientific Office and Training Department at El Ezaby Pharmacy, along with Vice Deans and department heads from the Faculty of Pharmacy. Members of the Office of Pharmacy Experiential Training (OPET), Quality Assurance Unit, and faculty staff were also present.

The MOU aims to provide valuable training opportunities for Pharm D and Pharm D-Clinical Pharmacy students at El Ezaby chain pharmacies. This collaboration further aims to strengthen the academic relationship between the two parties, allowing students to enhance their community pharmacy practice skills. It will also contribute to the improvement of educational programs through the exchange of knowledge and experiences.

في إطار مجهودات جامعة مصر الدولية لإعلاء قيم المثابرة والكفاح والعمل الجاد تم تنظيم معرض للمنتجات اليدوية للأسر المنتجة من منطقتي مصر القديمة ومدينة السلام يوم الأربعاء 15 فبراير 2023 بمناسبة اقتراب حلول شهر رمضان المبارك. وشاركت 22 أسرة وتم عرض منتجاتهم من منسوجات مطرزة ومفارش وإكسسوارات حريمي ولوحات فنية وفخار ملون وتحف وغير ذلك من المصنوعات اليدوية.

MIU Faculty of Pharmacy offers “Statistics for Clinicians” workshop

The Development, Awareness, and Training Committee of the MIU Faculty of Pharmacy collaborated with Trust Research Center to host a condensed six-day hybrid workshop titled “Statistics for Clinicians” from February 6 to February 16, 2023. The workshop was led by Prof. Dr. Ahmed Hassouna, CEO of Trust Research Center, and Dr. Mohammed Gumaa, Co-founder and Executive Manager of TRUST Research Center.

Attended by 23 staff members and preceptors from MIU affiliated hospitals, the workshop focused on the fundamentals of biostatistics, appropriate testing in clinical studies, statistical diagnostic accuracy testing, and proper statistical data interpretation. The participants received theoretical knowledge, statistical application quizzes, and hands-on training with the SPSS statistical program.

The workshop concluded with a question-and-answer session that reflected the participants’ interest in the workshop content. This workshop was organized to promote and develop research and offered a valuable opportunity for clinicians to learn and enhance their statistical skills.

MIU holds Pharmacy Preceptorship Day and MOU Signing Ceremony with Parkville Pharmaceuticals Company

The Office of Pharmacy Experiential Training (OPET) at the MIU Faculty of Pharmacy held a Preceptorship Day and Memorandum of Understanding Signing Ceremony with Parkville Pharmaceuticals Company on Wednesday, February 22, 2023. The event celebrated the company’s significant contribution to student training opportunities and academic activities.

During the ceremony, an MOU for the Educational MIU-Parkville Pharmacy was signed by Prof. Dr. Mahasen Farghaly, MIU Acting President, and Dr. Mahmoud Farrag, Parkville GM and Cofounder. Another MOU for experiential and educational collaboration was signed by Prof.Dr.Samy Emara, Faculty of Pharmacy Dean, and Dr Mahmoud Farrag. These agreements aim to strengthen the academic relationship between the two parties, enrich experiential and research opportunities, and exchange knowledge and experiences.

The signing ceremony was attended by the Faculty of Pharmacy Dean, Vice-Deans, Department Heads, Members of the OPET, and faculty staff members. Representatives of Parkville Pharmaceuticals, including Dr. Sahar Gohar, Education and Development Manager, Dr. Engy Nehad, Education and Development Operations Supervisor, Dr. Carine Makram, Talent Acquisition and Branding Head, and Dr. Mahmoud Fadel, Marketing Associate, received awards and certificates of appreciation.

Dr. Carine Makram, Talent Acquisition and Branding Head also granted training completion certificates to students who fulfilled their pharmaceutical industry training hours during the ceremony.
