On December 23rd, 2024, the Pharmaceutical Technology Department at the Faculty of Pharmacy hosted an exhibition showcasing the creative projects of 5th-year students as part of their Pharmaceutical Technology course. 

The students worked in teams to design and build small-scale models of pharmaceutical equipment, blending creativity with technical knowledge. Each team also presented their work, explaining how the equipment functions and its importance in the pharmaceutical industry.  This hands-on project allowed students to explore the practical side of industrial pharmacy, especially the production of different dosage forms.

في يوم 23 ديسمبر 2024 نظم قسم تكنولوجيا الصيدلة بكلية الصيدلة معرضًا لعرض مشاريع طلاب الفرقة الخامسة التي قاموا بها في مقرر التكنولوجيا الصيدلانية.
عمل الطلاب في مجموعات على تصميم وبناء نماذج مصغرة لبعض المعدات الصيدلانية كما قدمت كل مجموعة عرضًا لشرح طريقة عمل المعدات وأهميتها في مجال الصيدلة.

On October 16, 2024, the Faculty of Pharmacy at MIU had the privilege of hosting Dr. Rania El Hossary, the esteemed Manager of the Stability Department at the Egyptian Drug Authority.

Dr. El Hossary conducted an engaging lecture for second-year PharmD Clinical students as part of the Pharmacy Legislation and Professional Ethics course. She provided valuable insights into the intricate process of medicine registry, guiding students through the various steps involved in registering drugs in Egypt.

She emphasized the importance of adhering to strict quality standards and regulatory requirements to ensure the safety and efficacy of pharmaceutical products. The visit of Dr. Rania El Hossary offered students a unique opportunity to gain firsthand knowledge from a leading authority in the pharmaceutical industry.

كلية الصيدلة في جامعة مصر الدولية تستضيف محاضرة للدكتورة رانيا الحصري عن تسجيل الأدوية

في 16 أكتوبر 2024 تشرفت كلية الصيدلة بجامعة مصر الدولية باستضافة الدكتورة رانيا الحصري، مديرة قسم الثباتية بالهيئة المصرية للدواء.
قدمت الدكتورة الحصري محاضرة مميزة لطلاب السنة الثانية من برنامج PharmD Clinical كجزء من مادة التشريعات الصيدلية وأخلاقيات المهنة. تناولت المحاضرة خطوات عملية تسجيل الأدوية في مصر حيث شاركت بخبراتها الواسعة في هذا المجال.
وأكدت الدكتورة الحصري على أهمية الالتزام بمعايير الجودة الصارمة والمتطلبات التنظيمية لضمان سلامة وفعالية المنتجات الدوائية. كانت هذه الزيارة فرصة ثمينة للطلاب لاكتساب معرفة مباشرة من إحدى الخبراء البارزين في مجال صناعة الأدوية.

The Department of Pharmaceutical Technology at MIU was honored to host Dr. Mohamed Sarhan, the distinguished Deputy Plant Manager at Medical Union Pharmaceuticals, on Saturday, March 9, 2024.

Dr. Sarhan delivered a lecture to fifth-year pharmacy students enrolled in Pharmaceutical Technology II, discussing the complexities of scaling up pharmaceutical production and the challenges and considerations involved in increasing production capacity.

Dr. Sarhan shared real-world examples and answered students’ questions, providing them with a deeper understanding of this critical aspect of pharmaceutical technology.

استضاف قسم التكنولوجيا الصيدلانية الدكتور محمد سرحان نائب مدير المصنع بشركة الاتحاد للأدوية يوم السبت الموافق 9 مارس 2024.
حضر المحاضرة طلاب السنة الخامسة المسجلون في مقرر تكنولوجيا الصيدلة II حيث تناول الدكتور سرحان موضوع التوسع في الصناعة الدوائية موضحًا التحديات والعوامل التي يجب مراعاتها عند زيادة القدرة الإنتاجية. كما قدم أمثلة من الواقع العملي وأجاب عن أسئلة الطلاب لتوضيح المفاهيم بشكل أعمق.

On September 23, 2024 and for the first time in Egypt, the Faculty of Pharmacy at Misr International University (MIU) successfully hosted the international capstone Prescribing Skills Assessment (PSA) exam, organized by the British Pharmacological Society (BPS).

MIU senior pharmacy students became the first cohort in Egypt to take this internationally recognized capstone exam. After completing two preparatory mock exams, the students excelled in the final international assessment, showcasing significant improvements in both performance and competencies.

Each student received a certificate from the BPS, highlighting their success and adding valuable credentials to their professional portfolios.

On May 28, 2024, the Faculty of Pharmacy at Misr International University hosted its annual Drug Discovery Poster Day, showcasing the remarkable achievements of its students in computer-aided drug design, under the supervision of the Pharmaceutical Chemistry Department.

Throughout the semester, fourth year pharmacy students were divided into teams, each undertaking a unique drug discovery project. These teams applied their knowledge of computational chemistry and pharmacology to identify potential new drug candidates.

On the event day, 70 projects were presented as research posters, covering topics such as drug repurposing, virtual screening, and 3DQSAR modeling. These presentations highlighted the innovative research being conducted by the next generation of pharmaceutical scientists.

The event was a resounding success, demonstrating the impressive capabilities of pharmacy students and the university’s commitment to advancing the field of drug discovery.

نظمت كلية الصيدلة يوم ملصق اكتشاف الأدوية السنوي

في 28 مايو 2024 نظمت كلية الصيدلة بجامعة مصر الدولية يوم ملصق اكتشاف الأدوية السنوي حيث عرض الطلاب إنجازاتهم في تصميم الأدوية بمساعدة الكمبيوتر.

طوال فصل ربيع 2024 تم تقسيم طلاب الفرقة الرابعة من كلية الصيدلة إلى مجموعات واستخدم الطلاب معرفتهم بالكيمياء الحسابية وعلم الأدوية لتحديد الأدوية الجديدة المحتملة.

في يوم الحدث تم تقديم 70 مشروعًا كملصقات بحثية تغطي مواضيع مثل إعادة استخدام الأدوية والفحص الافتراضي والنمذجة 3DQSAR

وقد حقق الحدث نجاحاً باهراً حيث أظهر قدرات طلاب الصيدلة والتزام الجامعة بالتقدم في مجال اكتشاف الأدوية.

On Sunday the 26^th of May 2024, the Clinical Pharmacy Department at the Faculty of Pharmacy hosted the Egyptian Ambulance Authority.

The purpose of the visit was to educate third-year students enrolled in the First Aid course about the various tools and devices in the ambulance, their functions, how to respond to different accidents, and the correct protocols for ensuring the safety of individuals at risk in diverse scenarios.

The visit did not only improve students’ understanding of various concepts in the First Aid course, but also helped them appreciate the major role of the Egyptian Ambulance Authority.

زيارة هيئة الإسعاف المصرية لكلية الصيدلة

استضاف قسم الصيدلة الإكلينيكية بكلية الصيدلة هيئة الإسعاف المصرية يوم الأحد الموافق 26 مايو 2024.

وهدفت الزيارة إلى توعية طلبة الفرقة الثالثة المقيدين بمادة الإسعافات الأولية التابعة للقسم حول المعدات المختلفة والإجراءات المتبعة داخل سيارة الإسعاف. وتم في هذا اليوم تعريف الطلاب بكل الإمكانات والأجهزة المتواجدة في سيارة الأسعاف واستخداماتها و كيفية التعامل في حالات الحوادث المختلفة والطرق الصحيحة اللازمة للحفاظ على حياة الأفراد المعرضين للخطر في الحوادث المختلفة.

ساعدت الزيارة الطلاب على فهم مختلف مفاهيم مقرر الإسعافات الأولية وساعدتهم أيضًا على تقدير الدور الكبير الذي تلعبه هيئة الإسعاف المصرية.

MIU is pleased to announce the successful implementation of Interprofessional Education (IPE) for third-level medical students during the spring of 2023. This collaborative initiative, conducted under the supervision of the pharmacology department in both Pharmacy and Dentistry faculties, aimed to enhance collaboration and shared learning experiences. Students from both sectors were organized into interdisciplinary teams, solving diverse medical cases and applying theoretical knowledge to practical, patient-centered scenarios. The culmination of this approach was evident in oral presentations, emphasizing the importance of interdisciplinary cooperation in healthcare.

يسر جامعة مصر الدولية أن تعلن عن التنفيذ الناجح للتعليم المهني المتداخل (IPE) لطلاب القطاع الطبي من المستوى الثالث خلال ربيع عام 2023. وتهدف هذه المبادرة التعاونية، التي أجريت تحت إشراف قسم الأدوية و السموم في كليتي الصيدلة وطب الفم والأسنان، إلى تعزيز التعاون و خبرات التعلم المشتركة. تم تنظيم الطلاب من كلا القطاعين الطبيين في فرق متعددة التخصصات، حيث شاركوا في حل مجموعة متنوعة من الحالات الطبية، وتطبيق المعرفة النظرية في سياقات عملية ومركزة على المريض. وكان ذلك واضحًا في العروض الشفهية التي تمثلت في ختام هذا النهج، مؤكدة على أهمية التعاون التخصصي في مجال الرعاية الصحية

On November 14, 2023, the Pharmaceutical Chemistry Department organized an exhibition showcasing projects on 3D simulations and molecular modeling.

The projects were presented by first-year students under the guidance of Dr. Samar Mowafy and Dr. Mona Abdelatty as part of the Organic Chemistry course activities requirements.

Esteemed Faculty members, including Dr. Samy Emara, Dean of the Faculty; Dr. Lamiaa Nabil, Vice Dean of Student Affairs; and Dr. Mona Shaalan, Vice Dean of Postgraduate Studies, interacted with students during the exhibition, to deliberate upon their projects and offer valuable encouragement.

في 14 نوفمبر 2023، نظم قسم الكيمياء الصيدلانية معرضًا لعرض مشاريع المحاكاة ثلاثية الأبعاد والنمذجة الجزيئية.

قدم المشاريع طلاب السنة الأولى تحت إشراف د. سمر موافي و د. منى عبد العاطي كجزء من الأنشطة التعليمية لمقرر الكيمياء العضوية.

حرص الدكتور سامي عمارة عميد الكلية؛ ود. لمياء نبيل، وكيل الكلية لشؤون الطلاب؛ ود. منى شعلان، وكيل الكلية لشؤون الدراسات العليا، على مناقشة الطلاب خلال المعرض في مشاريعهم وتشجيعهم على مواصلة العمل الدؤوب.

Faculty of Pharmacy was honored to have Doctor Ola Abdel Qader who is quality and compliance consultant (SME technical pharmaceutical) on Wednesday 8^th of November,2023. During that day, Dr. Ola gave an in-depth workshop to Faculty staff members including a group of professors, lecturers, assistant lecturers, and teaching assistants. The workshop was about all aspects of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) going through its importance, principles as well as the guidelines used to apply and audit GMP.
