We are delighted to announce the significant involvement of our esteemed faculty members in the fourth Youth Leaders Foundation (YLF) Leaders League Competition. On Wednesday, 26^th of July 2023, Professor Dr. Nehad Samir, the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Dental and Oral Medicine, and Dr. Lobna Hatem, Assistant Professor of Pharmacology and the Academic Advisor of IHEPC student activity, served as distinguished members of the judging commission for the medical sector. Their pivotal roles in evaluating the medical league competition contributed to the success of the event that unites student organizations from all educational institutions in Egypt.

يسعدنا أن نعلن عن مشاركة أعضاء هيئة التدريس من جامعة مصر الدولية في مسابقة دوري القادة الرابعة لمؤسسة القادة الشباب (YLF). في يوم الأربعاء الموافق 26 يوليو 2023 شارك كلا من الأستاذ الدكتور نهاد سمير وكيل كلية طب الفم والأسنان والدكتورة لبنى حاتم مدرس علم الأدوية والسموم والمشرف الأكاديمي للنشاط الطلابي IHEPC كعضوتين متميزتين في لجنة التحكيم للقطاع الطبي. وقد ساهم دورهما المحوري في تقييم مسابقة الدوري الطبي في نجاح هذا الحدث الرائد الذي وحد المنظمات الطلابية من جميع المؤسسات التعليمية في جمهورية مصر العربية.

The Faculty of Pharmacy at MIU, in collaboration with the Community Service and Environmental Awareness Committee and the Microbiology Department, spearheaded the critical “Antibiotic Resistance Awareness Campaign” on February 26. This campaign was a pivotal step towards addressing a global health crisis.

The misuse and overuse of antibiotics, both in medicine and agriculture, are a pressing concern with global consequences. This campaign aimed to educate the community about this issue to help stop the development and spread of antibiotic-resistant infections.

Pharmacy students enthusiastically participated in this on-campus campaign. Through engaging posters, informative flyers, and insightful one-on-one discussions, the campaign raised awareness among university staff and students from various non-medical disciplines.

Educating the public about the dangers of antibiotic misuse is a vital first step towards achieving sustained behavioural change. This change will not only benefit individuals but will also have a far-reaching impact on public health. By supporting this campaign, the Faculty of Pharmacy at MIU is playing a vital role in safeguarding the effectiveness of antibiotics for future generations.

حملة التوعية بمقاومة المضادات الحيوية

أطلقت كلية الصيدلة في جامعة مصر الدولية بالتعاون مع لجنة تطوير المشاركة المجتمعية وقسم المايكروبيولوجي مبادرة مهمة يوم 26 فبراير 2024 بعنوان “حملة التوعية بمقاومة المضادات الحيوية”.

مقاومة المضادات الحيوية هي مصدر قلق يؤثر علينا جميعًا وتهدف هذه الحملة إلى الحد من تطور وانتشار العدوى المقاومة للمضادات الحيوية من خلال تثقيف المجتمع بشأن إساءة استخدام المضادات الحيوية والإفراط في استخدامها في الطب والزراعة.

شارك طلاب الصيدلة بحماس في هذه الحملة التي أقيمت في الحرم الجامعي وحضروا ملصقات ونشرات إعلامية ورفعت الحملة الوعي بين موظفي الجامعة والطلاب من مختلف التخصصات.

يعد رفع مستوى الوعي حول الاستخدام غير المناسب للمضادات الحيوية خطوة حاسمة نحو تعزيز التغيير المستدام في السلوك. لن يفيد هذا التغيير الأفراد فحسب، بل سيكون له أيضًا تأثير بعيد المدى على الصحة العامة. من خلال دعم هذه الحملة تلعب كلية الصيدلة في جامعة مصر الدولية دورًا حيويًا في حماية فعالية المضادات الحيوية للأجيال القادمة.

The Community Service Committee of the Faculty of Pharmacy is pleased to announce the successful completion of the three-part workshop series “Leading with Purpose and Influence: Unleash Your Leadership Potential.” This series, which was held on October 5th, November 16th, and November 23rd, comprised interactive sessions designed to empower 30 participants, including students and graduates, by instilling essential leadership skills.
Over the course of the workshops, participants explored the principles of “Appreciative Inquiry,” the history and impact of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), raised their awareness of personal preferences, and mapped MBTI strengths and challenges as change agents. The final session comprehensively covered six leadership styles, delved into strengths-based leadership theories, and equipped participants with essential skills for effective change agency.
Special thanks are extended to Professor Heba Amin, a FAIMER fellow and Professor at the Faculty of Medicine, Helwan University, for her leadership in facilitating these impactful sessions.

 نظمت لجنة خدمة المجتمع بكلية الصيدلة سلسلة من ورش العمل بعنوان “القيادة من خلال الهدف والتأثير: أطلق العنان لقدراتك القيادية”. قامت بإلقائها الأستاذة الدكتورة هبة أمين، زميلة FAIMER وأستاذ كلية الطب بجامعة حلوان وذلك في 5 أكتوبر و16 نوفمبر و23 نوفمبر 2023. تضمنت سلسلة ورش العمل جلسات تفاعلية تم تهدف إلى تمكين 30 مشاركًا من الطلاب والخريجين، من اكتساب المهارات القيادية الأساسية.
تعرف المشاركون إلى مبادئ وتاريخ وتأثير الاستقصاء التقديري، كما تم مناقشة مؤشر مايرز بريجز (MBTI)، مما ساهم في زيادة وعيهم بالتفضيلات الشخصية، وكيفية الاستفادة من نقاط القوة بإعتبارها عوامل للتغيير الفعال.
