The Faculty of Pharmacy at MIU proudly celebrates another remarkable achievement at the 30th Dubai International Pharmaceutical and Technologies Conference and Exhibition – DUPHAT (DUPHAT’25), held from January 9th to January 11th at the World Trade Centre in Dubai. 14 Pharmacy students from the Analytical Chemistry and Clinical Pharmacy Practice Departments attended the conference. 

The Fifth Best Structured Pharmacy Poster Award at this year’s conference went to MIU Pharmacy students Ahmed Tarek, Zeina Amin, Paula Wassim, Nadine Saeid, Sandra Hani and Hana Islam, supervised by Dr. Rasha Mahmoud and TA Tasnim Tarek, for their research “Greenness Profile and Whiteness Assessment of Chromatographic Method for the Assay of Caffeine and Some Artificial Sweeteners in Commercial Energy Drinks”. This marks the twelfth consecutive year of MIU student success at the conference and highlights the university’s commitment to academic and research excellence. The Faculty of Pharmacy extends its sincere congratulations to its students and their supervisors, anticipating continued success in the years to come.

On November 25, 2024, the Faculty of Pharmacy at Misr International University (MIU) organized an educational visit for third and fourth-year students to the MUP factory in Abo-Sultan. A total of 41 students participated, gaining valuable insights into one of Egypt’s leading pharmaceutical factories. 

During the visit, students toured key departments, including Research and Development (R&D), Quality Control and Production. They observed the detailed pharmaceutical manufacturing processes and learned about the rigorous standards that ensure high-quality products. 

In addition to the tour, students attended lectures by the factory’s experts who shared their knowledge about modern manufacturing practices, challenges in the industry, and the latest advancements in pharmaceutical technology. This visit offered a practical experience to complement students’ academic studies at MIU. 

زيارة طلاب الصيدلة إلى مصنع المهن الطبية

في 25 نوفمبر 2024 نظمت كلية الصيدلة بجامعة مصر الدولية زيارة تعليمية لطلاب السنة الثالثة والرابعة إلى مصنع المهن الطبية في أبو سلطان. شارك في الزيارة 41 طالبًا وأتيحت لهم الفرصة للتعرف على أحد أبرز مصانع الأدوية في مصر.
شملت الزيارة جولات داخل أقسام البحث والتطوير(R&D) ومراقبة الجودة والإنتاج حيث اطلع الطلاب على خطوات تصنيع الأدوية والمعايير الدقيقة لضمان جودة المنتجات.
كما حضر الطلاب محاضرات قدمها خبراء المصنع ناقشت تقنيات التصنيع الحديثة والتحديات التي تواجه الصناعة وأحدث التطورات التكنولوجية.

Misr International University (MIU) and Gulf Medical University (GMU) in Ajman, UAE have successfully partnered.

Two GMU students recently completed oncology clinical pharmacy rotations at the International Medical Center in Cairo, Egypt, from March 17th to April 18th, 2024, and two MIU students completed adult medicine rotations at Thumbay University Hospital in Ajman from July 1st to July 26th, 2024.

This exchange program not only enhanced the educational experience of our students but also fostered cross-cultural collaboration and professional development. 

We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to making this initiative a success and look forward to future collaborative opportunities.

نجاح برنامج التبادل الطلابي بين جامعة مصر الدولية وجامعة الخليج الطبية لصيف 2024

يسعدنا أن نعلن عن نجاح تنفيذ برنامج التعاون الدولي بين جامعة مصر الدولية (MIU) وجامعة الخليج الطبية (GMU) في عجمان، الإمارات العربية المتحدة.
أكمل اثنان من طلاب جامعة الخليج الطبية مؤخرًا دورات الصيدلة السريرية للأورام في المركز الطبي الدولي في القاهرة، مصر، في الفترة من 17 مارس إلى 18 أبريل 2024، وأكمل اثنان من طلاب جامعة الخليج الطبية دورات طب البالغين في مستشفى جامعة ثومباي في عجمان في الفترة من 1 يوليو إلى 26 يوليو 2024.
عزز برنامج التبادل الخبرة التعليمية لطلابنا وعزز أيضًا التعاون بين الثقافات والتطوير المهني.

To enhance our students’ understanding of the pharmaceutical industry sector, the Pharmaceutical Technology Department arranged a visit for fourth and fifth-year students to one of the largest healthcare pharmaceutical companies in Egypt, MUP, on the 8^th of May 2024.

The tour aimed to familiarize students with Egyptian pharmaceutical companies, their operational procedures, pharmaceutical production lines, how these lines adhere to international pharmaceutical quality standards, and the most effective ways to keep an industrial setting safe and clean.

Students had an introductory tour of the company production, quality control, and R&D departments. A total of 29 students participated in the tour and had the chance to witness the daily operations of these departments.

In addition, MUP staff thankfully provided our students with insightful responses to all their inquiries concerning the pharmaceutical industry, allowing them to integrate their theoretical knowledge with real-world experiences.

حرصًا من كلية الصيدلة على تعزيز تجربة طلابنا الجامعية وتعميق فهمهم لقطاع صناعة الأدوية، قام قسم تكنولوجيا الصيدلة بترتيب زيارة لطلاب الفرقة الرابعة والخامسة إلى شركة المهن الطبية للأدوية التي تعد واحدة من أكبر شركات الأدوية في مصر، وذلك في 8 مايو2024.
كان الهدف من الجولة هو تعريف الطلاب بشركات الأدوية المصرية، وإجراءات التشغيل بها، وخطوط إنتاج الأدوية، وكيفية التزام هذه الشركات بمعايير الجودة الدولية في مجال صناعة الأدوية، والطرق الأكثر فعالية للحفاظ على بيئة صناعية آمنة ونظيفة.
وقام الطلاب بجولة تعريفية حول أقسام الإنتاج ومراقبة الجودة والبحث والتطوير في الشركة. وقد شارك في الجولة 29 طالبًا وأتيحت لهم فرصة مشاهدة العمليات اليومية لهذه الأقسام.
بالإضافة إلى ذلك، تفضل المسؤولون بشركة المهن الطبية للأدوية بتقديم إجابات متعمقة على جميع استفسارات الطلاب المتعلقة بصناعة الأدوية، مما أتاح للطلاب الفرصة لتعزيز ما اكتسبوه من معلومات نظرية بالخبرة العملية في بيئة العمل الحقيقية.

On Thursday, March 7, 2024, the Pharmaceutical Technology Department at the Faculty of Pharmacy, MIU, hosted Dr. Ola Abdel Kader, Quality and Compliance Consultant of Technical Pharmaceutical Operations, for a lecture on reference standards.

The session was attended by fifth-year students enrolled in the Pharmaceutical Quality Control course. Dr. Ola delivered an in-depth lecture, highlighting the importance in ensuring consistency, accuracy and reliability in measurements.

تشرف قسم التكنولوجيا الصيدلانية بكلية الصيدلة – جامعة مصر الدولية – باستضافة الدكتورة علا عبد القادر مستشارة الجودة والامتثال في العمليات التقنية الصيدلانية لإلقاء محاضرة يوم الخميس 7 مارس 2024. وحضرها طلاب السنة الخامسة المسجلون في مقرر ضبط جودة المستحضرات الصيدلانية. تحدثت الدكتورة علا عن موضوع المواد المرجعية موضحة أهميتها في ضمان التناسق والدقة في القياسات.

The Pharmaceutical Technology Department at MIU was honored to host Dr. Emad George, the distinguished Quality Assurance Director at Global Napi Pharmaceuticals, on Thursday, March 7, 2024.

Dr. George delivered a lecture to fifth-year pharmacy students enrolled in the Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) course. His presentation emphasized the importance of adhering to GMP standards for sterile products, highlighting their crucial role in ensuring product safety and quality.

Drawing on his extensive industry experience, Dr. George also discussed the regulatory requirements for GMP compliance, providing students with a deeper understanding of this essential topic.

تشرف قسم التكنولوجيا الصيدلانية بكلية الصيدلة – جامعة مصر الدولية -باستضافة الدكتور عماد جورج مدير ضمان الجودة بشركة جلوبال نابي للأدوية يوم الخميس الموافق 7 مارس 2024.
ألقى الدكتور جورج محاضرة لطلاب الصيدلة في السنة الخامسة المسجلين في مقرر ممارسات التصنيع الجيد (GMP) وأكد على أهمية الالتزام بمعايير ممارسات التصنيع الجيدة للمنتجات المعقمة ودورها الحاسم في ضمان سلامة المنتج وجودته.
كما ناقش الدكتور عماد المتطلبات التنظيمية للامتثال لممارسات التصنيع الجيد وقدم رؤى مستمدة من خبراته العملية الواسعة التي ساعدت الطلاب على تعميق فهمهم لهذا الموضوع الأساسي.
