On Friday the 3rd of May, students of the Drug Information and Medical Awareness Services (DIMAS) Club held their annual medical campaign at Al-Zohour Club, Fifth Settlement branch.
Every year DIMAS students tackle a health problem profoundly and address new ways of raising awareness towards that problem. This year’s campaign focused on prevention and management of Type 2 diabetes, giving attendees the information they need to safeguard and improve their wellbeing. The campaign also shed light on common skin disorders that occur during the summer season.

On Wednesday the 28th of April, the Faculty of Al-Alsun and Mass Communication organized a First Aid Training Workshop given by Professor Fetouh Hassanien, MIU Director of Health Care and Emergency.
During the workshop, Professor Fetouh highlighted the importance of being prepared and equipped to handle emergencies, emphasizing that anyone can find themselves in a situation where immediate medical assistance is needed. By familiarizing the students with potential dangers and the necessary steps to address them, the workshop aimed to instill confidence and empower them to act swiftly and effectively during critical moments.
Students received hands-on training in the life-saving steps required to perform cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on adults.
Implementing first aid training aligns with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically the fourth goal of “Quality Education”. The workshop serves as a testament to the faculty’s commitment to promoting a holistic education that equips students with practical life skills and empowers them to be responsible and compassionate individuals.

نظمت كلية الألسن والإعلام يوم الأربعاء الموافق 28 أبريل ورشة عمل حول الإسعافات الأولية قدمها د. فتوح حسانين مدير الرعاية الصحية والطوارئ بجامعة مصر الدولية.
أثناء ورشة العمل سلط د. فتوح الضوء على أهمية الاستعداد للتعامل مع حالات الطوارئ مؤكدًا على أن أي شخص يمكن أن يحتاج إلى مساعدة طبية فورية. وتعرف الطلاب على المخاطر المحتملة والخطوات اللازمة لمواجهتها.
وفي نهاية ورشة العمل تلقى الطلاب تدريبًا عمليًا على الخطوات المطلوبة لإجراء الإنعاش القلبي الرئوي للبالغين.
تتماشى ورشة العمل على الإسعافات الأولية مع أهداف الأمم المتحدة للتنمية المستدامة وتحديدًا الهدف الرابع المتمثل في “التعليم الجيد”. تنظيم ورشة العمل يؤكد على التزام الكلية بتعزيز التعليم الشامل الذي يزود الطلاب بالمهارات الحياتية العملية.
On April 15th to 20th 2024, the Faculty of Business Administration conducted a “Stock Market Simulation” designed to provide a realistic and engaging learning experience by mirroring the actual workings of the stock market. The simulation hosted 138 students from Faculties of Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Science and Pharmacy.
Held from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm each day, the event allowed MIU students to gain hands-on experience in managing their own virtual portfolios, making informed investment decisions, and navigating the ups and downs of the market. From day one to three an overview of how the stock market works was given. From day four to six, the students played the roles of investors, brokers, bankers, and mutual fund managers, engaging in a spirited competition to determine the best in each category.
The event was a unique opportunity for MIU students to develop their financial literacy, learn from each other’s strategies, and gain valuable insights into the world of finance.

قامت كلية إدارة الأعمال في الفترة من 15 إلى 20 أبريل بإجراء “محاكاة سوق البورصة”. استضافت المحاكاة 138 طالبًا من كليات إدارة الأعمال والهندسة والحاسبات والمعلومات والصيدلة والأسنان والألسن والإعلام. أقيمت هذه المحاكاة من الساعة 9:00 صباحًا حتى 3:00 مساءً كل يوم، وقد سمح لطلاب الجامعة باكتساب خبرة عملية في إدارة محافظهم الاستثمارية الافتراضية، واتخاذ قرارات استثمارية مستنيرة، والتنقل بين صعود السوق وهبوطه. خلال الأيام الثلاثة الأولى، تم تقديم لمحة عامة عن كيفية عمل سوق الأوراق المالية. وفي الأيام الثلاثة التي تلت ذلك، لعب الطلاب أدوار المستثمرين والوسطاء والعاملين في البنوك ومديرين صناديق الاستثمار المشتركة وتنافسوا على لقب الأفضل في كل فئة.

On Monday the 22nd of April, the Training, Evaluation and Research Writing Center organized a thrilling General Knowledge and Talent Competition on campus. The event showcased the exceptional abilities and knowledge of the university students, leaving the audience in awe and admiration.
The Talent Competition featured a diverse array of performances that captivated the crowd. Students demonstrated their skills in singing, playing music, and acting. The stage came alive with exciting melodies, and entertaining songs as the participants left no stone unturned to impress the judges and the enthusiastic audience.
In the General Knowledge Competition, students from various faculties tested their knowledge across a wide range of subjects, including history, science, literature, and more. The competition was a thrilling battle of wits, with participants taking pride in their quick thinking, depth of knowledge, and strategic reasoning.
The competitions drew an enthusiastic audience, including fellow students and faculty members, all eager to witness the incredible talents and knowledge on display. The winners of both competitions received financial rewards and recognition for their outstanding achievements.

في يوم الاثنين الموافق 22 أبريل نظم مركز التدريب والتقييم وكتابة الأبحاث مسابقة مثيرة للمواهب والمعلومات العامة في الحرم الجامعي، حيث استعرض طلاب الجامعة قدراتهم ومعارفهم الاستثنائية مما أثار إعجاب الحضور.

On April 23rd, the Student Activity IHEPC and the Community Service Committee at the Faculty of Pharmacy collaborated to organize an addiction awareness campaign at Dover International School.
The campaign aimed to educate students in grades 9 through 11 about the dangers of various addictions, such as smoking and anabolic steroids, encouraging seeking help if needed. It also emphasized the importance of maintaining one’s physical and mental well-being.
Emphasizing the duty of the Faculty of Pharmacy to the community, these service activities aim to raise awareness and promote a healthier community, contributing to the betterment of the society.

في يوم ٢٣ أبريل تعاون النشاط الطلابي IHEPC ولجنة خدمة المجتمع بكلية الصيدلة لتنظيم حملة توعية بالإدمان في مدرسة دوفر الدولية.
هدفت الحملة إلى تثقيف الطلاب في الصفوف من 9 إلى 11 حول مخاطر أنواع الإدمان المختلفة مثل التدخين والمنشطات. وشددت أيضا على أهمية الحفاظ على السلامة البدنية والعقلية.
MIU Faculty of Pharmacy, in collaboration with the Egyptian Red Crescent and DIMAS Club, joined forces for a blood donation campaign. The initiative underscores MIU’s dedication to community service and its efforts to raise awareness of blood donation among students and staff.
The two-day campaign, which was organized by DIMAS students, took place on April 15 and 16, 2024. The main objective of the campaign was to advocate for the importance of donating blood as a social responsibility and a noble humanitarian act that can save the lives of thousands by ensuring that safe blood of different types will always be accessible to patients in need.
The campaign began with a social media promotion program aimed at educating individuals about different blood types, donation eligibility criteria, and the significance of blood donation. To ensure the donor’s overall health, a comprehensive health assessment, including assessment of hemoglobin levels and blood pressure, was conducted.
At the conclusion of the event, the Egyptian Red Crescent collected a total of 129 units of blood from university students and faculty members. This collective effort highlights the importance of blood donation and its positive impact on the community.
كلية الصيدلة تتعاون مع الهلال الأحمر المصري ونادي ديماس الطلابي لتنظيم حملة تبرع بالدم
في إطار الدور الفعال الذي تلعبه جامعة مصر الدولية في خدمة المجتمع وبهدف رفع مستوى الوعي حول أهمية التبرع بالدم بين الطلاب وأعضاء هيئة التدريس، نظم أعضاء النادي الطلابي ديماس حملة للتبرع بالدم بالتعاون مع كلية الصيدلة بالجامعة والهلال الأحمر المصري. تهدف الحملة، التي تم تنظيمها على مدار يومي 15 و 16 أبريل 2024، إلى تعزيز الوعي بأهمية التبرع بالدم بإعتباره مسؤولية مجتمعية وعمل إنساني نبيل يمكن أن ينقذ حياة الآلاف من خلال ضمان توفر الدم للمرضى المحتاجين.

Dr. Shaun Schafer, Associate Vice President of Curriculum, Academic Effectiveness and Policy Development at the Metropolitan State University of Denver and distinguished professor in the Journalism and Media Production Department, enriched the Mass Communication Department with a two-week guest lecture series from February 17 to March 1, 2024.
Professor Schafer engaged students across various disciplines, including IMC, journalism, broadcasting, and comparative media postgraduate studies. He was particularly impressed by the students’ active participation and keen interest in the presented topics. The sentiment was mutual, with students and instructors expressing a strong desire for a repeat experience.

Third year MIU Architecture Engineering students had an enriching experience immersing themselves in El Gouna’s distinctive urban and architectural landscape. This was part of their Aquatic Research Center design course, a three-day event, held from February 21st to 23rd. This educational excursion aimed to provide students with practical insights into site analysis and urban planning, bridging the gap between classroom theories and real-world applications.
On the first day, students explored El Gouna’s natural and artificial features, including topography, vegetation, street patterns, public spaces, and connectivity. They also evaluated two proposed design sites: the Mangrove Area and the Old Town Area, collecting data on their development potential.
The second day involved students presenting their detailed reports and visual aids, followed by discussions with El Gouna residents. These interactions provided valuable community insights and feedback on the proposed development sites.
Overall, the El Gouna visit emphasized the importance of incorporating local perspectives in architectural design, equipping students with essential skills for future challenges in urban planning. It reflects the faculty’s commitment to experiential learning and prepares students for their careers in architecture.”

Faculty of Computer Science students visited Vodafone International Solutions (VOIS) premises, Smart Village, on Sunday, 18th February 2024. The trip was organized by the Alumni and Career Development Office.
The purpose of the visit was for students to learn more about the work environment and the latest technology available in a company that is regarded as one of Egypt’s top employers.

The Faculty of Computer Science collaborated with Odoo, a well-known Belgian company specialized in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software in organizing two workshops on December 4th, 2023.
During the first workshop, students learned how to create a new company ERP system using Odoo software. This interactive workshop offered practical knowledge of ERP and its applications in real-life scenarios.
The second workshop aimed at training faculty members on how to integrate Odoo into their courses effectively. The workshop covered Odoo’s functionalities, best practices, and pedagogical strategies to help deliver engaging and practical learning experiences to students.

تعلم الطلاب أثناء ورشة العمل الأولى كيفية إنشاء نظام ERP جديد للشركات باستخدام برنامج Odoo وتضمنت الورشة، التي قُدمت بأسلوب تفاعلي، معلومات عملية بشأن تخطيط موارد المؤسسات وتطبيقاته في الواقع.
في حين هدفت ورشة العمل الثانية إلى تدريب أعضاء هيئة التدريس على كيفية دمج برامج Odoo بشكل فعال في مقرراتهم. تضمنت ورشة العمل وظائف Odoo وأفضل الممارسات والاستراتيجيات للمساعدة في تقديم خبرات تعليمية عملية للطلاب.
