On Sunday the 19th of May, Al-Alsun Department hosted the renowned author of children’s literature, Ms. Mona Lamloum, as a guest speaker for the Topics in Literature Course. During the session, Ms. Lamloum emphasized the importance of tailoring literary topics and themes to suit the psychological development of children at various stages of their lives.
The session comes as part of Al-Alsun’s mission to provide its students with opportunities to engage with industry professionals and gain practical knowledge.

الكاتبة المشهورة منى لملوم تثرى طلاب الألسن بخبراتها عن أدب الطفل

استضاف قسم الألسن يوم الأحد الموافق 19 مايو مؤلفة كتب الأطفال الأستاذة منى لملوم في ندوة حول أدب الطفل.

خلال الندوة تحدثت الأستاذة منى لملوم عن المواضيع الأدبية المناسبة لكل فئة عمرية استنادًا إلى التطور النفسي للطفل.
وتأتي هذه الندوة كجزء من مهمة قسم الألسن لتزويد طلابها بفرص للتفاعل مع المتخصصين في المجال واكتساب المعرفة العملية.

On Monday the 20^th of May, the Training Unit at the Faculty of Al-Alsun & Mass Communication hosted an engaging workshop titled “Using Technology for the Documentation of Research” presented by Dr. Sarah Shawky, Assistant Professor, Mass Communication Department.

The workshop was attended by teaching assistants from both departments, Al-Alsun and Mass Communication, and it aimed to empower them with technological tools for their research.

Organizing this event stands as a testament to the Faculty’s commitment to the professional growth and development of its staff.

تعزيز المهارات البحثية باستخدام التكنولوجيا

استضافت وحدة التدريب بكلية الألسن والإعلام يوم الاثنين الموافق 20 مايو ورشة عمل بعنوان “استخدام التكنولوجيا في توثيق الأبحاث” قدمتها د. سارة شوقي المدرس بقسم الإعلام.

استهدفت الورشة على وجه التحديد أعضاء الهيئة المعاونة بالكلية بهدف تمكينهم بالأدوات التكنولوجية اللازمة لأبحاثهم.

ويؤكد تنظيم ورشة العمل على التزام الكلية بالنمو المهني والتطوير للهيئة المعاونة.

In support of the vulnerable groups in our community, the Community Service Committee in the Faculty of Al-Alsun and Mass Communication organized a visit to Mustafa Asaker Mosque Charity House for girls on Monday, May, 13, 2024. The visit comes in alignment with the fourth and fifth goals, quality education and gender equality, of the 2030 Agenda for sustainable development.

Two workshops were conducted during the visit. The first workshop was presented by Haidy Wael, a Mass Communication teaching assistant, and it introduced e-marketing through effective guidelines for creating, designing and managing Facebook-sponsored advertising campaigns. The second workshop was conducted by Al-Aslun teaching assistant, Nadine Nasif, and it introduced common nutritional and health terms that are used in daily life, in both English and Arabic (such as expiration dates, food ingredients, calories, etc.).

The Community Service Committee members handed out posters designed by Al-Alsun & Mass Communication students to raise awareness about environmental issues such as planting trees, air pollution and plastic-free drinking bottles.

The charity house principals and residents expressed their satisfaction with the workshops, requesting more training workshops in the future.

كلية الألسن والإعلام تنظم ورش تدريبية لدار مسجد مصطفى عساكر الخيرية للفتيات

نظمت لجنة خدمة المجتمع بكلية الألسن والإعلام زيارة إلى دار مسجد مصطفى عساكر الخيري للفتيات يوم الاثنين الموافق 13 مايو 2024.

وتم عقد ورشتي عمل خلال الزيارة. الورشة الأولى قدمتها هايدي وائل المعيدة بقسم الإعلام وتحدثت عن التسويق الإلكتروني وقدمت للفتيات إرشادات فعالة لإنشاء وتصميم الحملات الإعلانية التي ترعاها شركة فيسبوك. أما الورشة الثانية قدمتها نادين ناصف المعيدة بقسم الألسن وتطرقت إلى المصطلحات الغذائية الشائعة المستخدمة في الحياة اليومية باللغتين الإنجليزية والعربية (مثل تاريخ انتهاء الصلاحية ومكونات الطعام والسعرات الحرارية وغيرها).

وقام أعضاء لجنة خدمة المجتمع بتوزيع الملصقات التي صممها طلاب الألسن والإعلام للتوعية بالقضايا البيئية مثل زراعة الأشجار وتلوث الهواء وزجاجات الشرب الخالية من البلاستيك.

On Monday the 13^th of May, Al-Alsun Department held a Postgraduate Seminar for the MA in Translation and New Technology Program. The seminar was an invaluable opportunity for the MA students to receive insightful guidance and feedback on their proposed thesis topics from esteemed Faculty members.

As part of Al-Alsun’s commitment to academic excellence, the seminar aimed to provide students with the necessary resources and support to refine their research ideas and start their thesis writing journey with confidence.

ندوة الألسن للدراسات العليا

نظم قسم الألسن يوم الاثنين الموافق 13 مايو ندوة لطلاب الدراسات العليا المسجلين في برنامج ماجستير الترجمة والتكنولوجيا الحديثة. وأثناء الندوة تلقى طلاب الماجستير آراء مفيدة بشأن مواضيع رسائلهم المقترحة من أعضاء هيئة التدريس الموقرين.

وكجزء من التزام قسم الألسن بالتميز الأكاديمي هدفت الندوة إلى تزويد الطلاب بالموارد والدعم اللازمين لتحسين مقترحاتهم البحثية والبدء في كتابة رسائلهم بثقة.
