The Community Service and Environmental Affairs Committee, Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine, participated in a field trip to Al-Mashhadi school in Sharqia governate on Thursday 14th of November 2024. A group of six female and male interns, Vice-Dean of Community Services and Environmental Affairs & Director of Internship Program from the faculty, Coordinator of Community Services and Environmental Affairs, three staff members from pedodontics department, three of the team of internship administration and a representative from the FDI joined the trip.

During the community service visit, the group engaged with 60 students and 20 teachers to promote dental awareness. This initiative, supported by the FDI, aimed to educate participants on the importance of oral hygiene and provide them with essential dental care tools. The interns held interactive sessions, using visual aids and demonstrations to make the information engaging and accessible. They emphasized proper brushing techniques, the benefits of daily dental care, and ways to prevent common oral health issues. Students, teachers, and school supervisors received dental hygiene kits containing a toothbrush and toothpaste, provided by FDI. Teachers and students were encouraged to incorporate dental health reminders into their routines.

The interns also had a great time visiting Kafr Gomaa, renowned as the oldest pottery factory, where they learned about the traditional pottery-making techniques used by the local people.

A questionnaire was distributed to the schoolteachers to evaluate the visit. Feedback from the school community was overwhelmingly positive. Both students and teachers expressed gratitude for the awareness program which successfully raised awareness for dental health’s significance. Another questionnaire was given to interns and staff members participating to evaluate the visit and its outcome, and the satisfaction rate was 100%.

فعاليات الزيارة الميدانية لمدرسة المشهدي في الشرقية

قامت لجنة خدمة المجتمع وتنمية البيئة بكلية طب الفم والأسنان بزيارة ميدانية إلى مدرسة المشهدي بمحافظة الشرقية بالإشتراك مع كلية الصيدلة يوم الخميس 14 نوفمبر 2024.

شارك في الزيارة السيد وكيل الكلية لشئون خدمة المجتمع وتنمية البيئة والسيد مقرر لجنة خدمة المجتمع وتنمية البيئة وممثل عن الإتحاد الدولي لطب الأسنان (FDI) وعضو هيئة تدريس من قسم طب أسنان الأطفال والصحة العامة والتقويم وإثنين من المعاونين بالقسم وكذلك ثلاثة أعضاء من فريق إدارة تدريب أطباء الإمتياز للإشراف على ستة من طبيبات وأطباء الامتياز ،وقد عرض أطباء الامتياز خلال الزيارة الطريقة المناسبة لتنظيف الأسنان.

تم عمل توعية للتلاميذ بالمدرسة وكذلك للسادة المعلمين والمشرفين بالمدرسة بكيفية الحفاظ على صحة الفم والأسنان وتم توزيع 150 فرشاة ومعجون أسنان على التلاميذ ومدرسين المدرسة وتم دعوتهم للكشف وتلقي العلاج بالمجان بجميع تخصصات طب الأسنان في مجمع عيادات الأسنان بالجامعة.

تم توزيع استبيانات على معلمين المدرسه لتحديد احتياجاتهم من صحة الأسنان وتقييم البرنامج المقدم وقياس مدى رضاهم عن الزيارة وقد بلغت نسبة الرضا 100%، كما تم توزيع استبيان آخر على أطباء الامتياز والمشاركين فى الزيارة لتقييمها وقد بلغت نسبة الرضا 100%.

وقد إستمتع أطباء الإمتياز بزيارة إحدى ورش صناعة الفخار والإطلاع على مراحل تصنيعه.

On Wednesday the 28^th of February 2024, the Community Service and Environmental Affairs Committee, Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine, in partnership with the World Dental Federation (FDI) and in celebration of the World Oral Health Day, organized an awareness session for patients in the waiting area in MIU Dental Clinics Complex.

The session was presented by 6 dental interns to raise awareness of oral and dental health.

The dental interns elaborated on how to take care of oral and dental hygiene and they distributed toothbrushes and toothpaste to all patients in the Dental Clinics Complex.

تنظيم حملة توعية للمرضى باستراحة مجمع العيادات بكلية طب الفم والأسنان

على هامش الاحتفال باليوم العالمى لصحة الفم نظمت إدارة خدمة المجتمع وتنمية البيئة بكلية طب الفم والأسنان بالاشتراك مع الإتحاد الدولي الفدرالى لطب الأسنان (FDI) جلسة توعية للمرضى باستراحة الانتظار بمجمع العيادات داخل الجامعة يوم الأربعاء الموافق 28 فبراير 2024 بمشاركة 6 من أطباء وطبيبات الامتياز.

قام أطباء الامتياز بعمل شرح توضيحى حول ماهية أمراض الفم والأسنان وكيفية العناية بنظافة الفم والأسنان كما قاموا بتوزيع فرشاة ومعجون أسنان على جميع المرضى الحاضرين.

The Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine’s Community Service and Environmental Affairs Committee organized a field trip for interns to El-Nour and El-Amal Association for visually impaired females on December 19, 2023. The field trip included the participation of 22 interns and staff members from the departments of Oral Medicine and Diagnosis, and Endodontics, along with a representative from the World Dental Federation (FDI).

The primary objective of the visit was to raise awareness among visually impaired females and their caregivers about dental health and strategies to improve oral and dental well-being. Interns conducted an informative session emphasizing the significance of proper tooth brushing and oral hygiene techniques.

During the visit, interns, under the supervision of faculty staff members, performed examinations for all individuals associated with the organization. To aid visually impaired females, interns personally guided them through the correct brushing techniques. A food elements gift was presented to the association, and FDI personnel distributed 150 toothbrushes and toothpastes to all individuals examined.

Questionnaires were administered to employees and caregivers of El-Nour and El-Amal Association to identify dental health needs and assess their satisfaction with the visit. The association recorded a 100% satisfaction rate, while participants expressed an 84.6% satisfaction rate.

نظمت لجنة شئون خدمة المجتمع وتنمية البيئة بكلية طب الفم والأسنان جامعة مصر الدولية زيارة ميدانية لاطباء الامتياز إلى جمعية النور والأمل للكفيفات بشارع ابو بكر الصديق بمصر الجديدة يوم الثلاثاء 19 ديسمبر 2023. شارك فى القافلة 22 من اطباء وطبيبات الامتياز وأعضاء هيئة التدريس من قسمى طب الفم وعلاج الجذور. بالإضافة إلى أعضاء من الاتحاد العالمي الفيدرالى لطب الأسنان.

وكان الهدف من الزيارة رفع مستوى الوعي لدى الكفيفات والموظفين ومقدمي الرعاية بالجمعية فيما يتعلق بصحة الفم والأسنان. وقد تم تقديم جلسة توعية توضح أهمية تنظيف الأسنان والطرق الصحيحة للعناية بالفم والأسنان.

قام اطباء وطبيبات الامتياز بعمل كشف لجميع الأفراد العاملين بالجمعية تحت إشراف السادة أعضاء هيئة التدريس من قسمى طب الفم وعلاج جذور حيث أمسكت طبيبات الامتياز أيدي الإناث الكفيفات بشكل فردي لتوجيههن إلى تقنية تنظيف الأسنان بالفرشاة المناسبة. وتم شراء مواد الغذائية وتقديمها للجمعية. كما قام عضو الاتحاد بتوزيع 150 فرشاة ومعجون أسنان على جميع الأفراد الذين تم فحصهم من كفيفات وموظفين.

وتم توزيع استبيانات على العاملين ومقدمي الرعاية في جمعية النور والأمل للمكفوفات لتقييم البرنامج المقدم وقياس مدى رضاهم عن الزيارة. وكانت نسبة رضا الجمعية عن الزيارة 100% في حين بلغت نسبة رضا المشاركين فى الزيارة 84.6%
