The Community Service and Environmental Affairs Committee at the Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine organized a field trip to Al Tabary School in Al-Shorouk City on Sunday, May 11th. The team included eight interns accompanied by a supervisor, the Coordinator of Community Service and Environmental Affairs, a professor of Pediatric Dentistry, a professor of Restorative and Preventive Dentistry, and the Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Affairs, who also took part in the visit.

The field trip was organized as part of the collaborative efforts between the Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine and Operation Smile Egypt, represented by Professor Rania Bakry. During the event, the representative of the World Dental Federation (FDI) distributed toothpaste and toothbrushes.

During the community service visit, the team engaged with 130 primary school students and seven teachers and supervisors. This initiative aimed to educate participants on the importance of oral hygiene and provided them with essential dental care tools. The dental interns gave informative sessions about effective methods for maintaining oral hygiene emphasizing proper brushing techniques, as well as awareness on the oral health challenges facing children with cleft lips and palate and what can be provided for them in MIU Dental Clinic Complex.

 Children and school supervisors received250  dental hygiene kits containing a toothbrush and toothpaste and were encouraged to incorporate dental health reminders into their routines.

A questionnaire was distributed to the supervisors to evaluate the visit, and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with a 100% satisfaction rate. Both the children and supervisors expressed appreciation for the awareness which effectively highlighted the importance of dental health. Another questionnaire was administered for participating interns and staff members to assess the visit and its outcomes. The satisfaction rate was 90%, with recommendations to extend the sessions and tailor them to various age groups for greater impact.

فعاليات الزيارة الميدانية لمدرسة الطبري- بالشروق

قامت لجنة خدمة المجتمع وتنمية البيئة بكلية طب الفم والأسنان بزيارة ميدانية لمدارس الطبري يوم الاحد 11 مايو 2025. ضمّ الفريق المشارك ثمانية من طلاب الامتياز من الذكور والإناث، ومنسق لجنة خدمة المجتمع وشؤون البيئة، وأستاذًا في طب أسنان الأطفال، وأستاذًا في علاج الأسنان التحفظي والوقائي، بالإضافة إلى وكيل الكلية لشؤون خدمة المجتمع وتنمية البيئة، والذي شارك أيضًا في الزيارة.

نُظمت هذه الزيارة ضمن أنشطة التعاون المشترك بين كلية طب الأسنان ومنظمة عملية الابتسامة – مصر، والتي مثّلتها الأستاذة الدكتورة رانيا بكري. وخلال الفعالية، قام ممثل منظمة الاتحاد العالمي لطب الأسنان (FDI) بتوزيع معاجين أسنان وفرش على الأطفال.

خلال زيارة لجنة خدمة المجتمع، تم التواصل مع 130 طفلًا و7 من المشرفين بالمدرسة. وهدفت هذه المبادرة إلى توعية المشاركين بأهمية النظافة الفموية، بالإضافة إلى تزويدهم بأدوات العناية الأساسية بصحة الفم والأسنان. قام طلاب الامتياز بتقديم جلسات توعوية تفاعلية تضمنت شرحًا لطرق العناية الفموية الصحيحة، مع التركيز على تقنيات تنظيف الأسنان السليمة، بالإضافة إلى نشر الوعي حول التحديات الصحية الفموية التي يواجهها الأطفال المصابون بالشفة الأرنبية والشق الحلقى، والخدمات المتاحة لهم في مجمع عيادات الأسنان بجامعة MIU.

تلقى الأطفال والمشرفون 250 مجموعة نظافة فموية تحتوي على فرشاة ومعجون أسنان، وتم تشجيعهم على دمج عادات العناية بصحة الفم في روتينهم اليومي.

تم توزيع استبيان على المشرفين بالمدرسة لتقييم الزيارة، وقد جاءت ردود الفعل إيجابية للغاية بنسبة رضا بلغت 100٪. وقد عبّر كل من الأطفال والمشرفين عن امتنانهم للبرنامج التوعوي والتشخيصي، الذي سلّط الضوء بشكل فعّال على أهمية صحة الفم. كما تم توزيع استبيان آخر على طلاب الامتياز وأعضاء هيئة التدريس المشاركين لتقييم الزيارة ونتائجها، وقد بلغت نسبة الرضا 90٪، مع توصيات بتمديد مدة الجلسات التوعوية وتكييفها لتناسب مختلف الفئات العمرية لزيادة الفعالية.

The Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine’s Community Service and Environmental Affairs Department organized a visit to the New Administrative Capital Hospital, affiliated with the General Authority for Health Insurance, on Tuesday, April 29, 2025.

The visit was attended by the Faculty’s Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Affairs, the Head of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department at the university, a member of the Community Service and Environmental Affairs Committee, and a member of the team from the Internship Training Office.

The hospital’s Director, Prof. Dr. Ramzy Mounir, warmly welcomed the university delegation and said that he was looking forward to cooperating with the Faculty of Dentistry, upon the approval of the Chairman of the General Authority for Health Insurance, as the hospital is under the authority of the General Health Insurance.

Several ideas were discussed, including the possibility of contracting with the hospital to perform oral and maxillofacial surgeries under general anesthesia for cases related to the university, to be carried out by university professors and consultants in the field of oral and maxillofacial surgery, along with the supporting team from the faculty. The hospital director also explained that it is not currently possible to allow internship doctors to train at the hospital, as they do not yet have the training services in place.

At the end of the meeting, the committee toured the hospital, inspecting the operating rooms, recovery rooms, and doctors’ rooms, accompanied by Dr. Marwa Ragai, a consultant in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the hospital (a graduate of the Faculty of Dentistry, Misr International University).

It was agreed that a proposal would be prepared for presentation to the General Authority for Health Insurance.

زيارة تفقدية لمستشفى العاصمة الادارية

قامت إدارة خدمة المجتمع وتنمية البيئة بالكلية بعمل زيارة تفقدية لمستشفى العاصمة الادارية التابعة للهيئة العامة للتأمين الصحى في يوم الثلاثاء الموافق 29 ابريل2025.

وقد شارك في الزيارة السيد وكيل الكلية لشئون خدمة المجتمع وتنمية البيئة والسيد رئيس قسم جراحة الوجه و الفكين بالجامعة وعضو من لجنة خدمة المجتمع وتنمية البيئة وعضو من فريق العمل بادارة تدريب الامتياز.

قام السيد مدير المستشفىأ.د/ رمزى منير بإستقبال وفد الجامعة بحفاوة وقد أبدى سعادته بالتعاون مع كلية طب الفم والأسنان بالجامعة بشرط الحصول على موافقة السيد رئيس الهيئة العامة للتأمين الصحي ،حيث أن المستشفى تتبع الهيئة العامة للتأمين الصحي.

كما تم إستعراض عدة أفكار منها ،التعاقد مع المستشفى لعمل عمليات جراحة الفم والوجه والفكين تحت التخدير الكلي للحالات التابعة للجامعة بواسطة أساتذة واستشاريين جراحة الفم والوجه والفكين بالجامعة و فريق العمل المعاون من الكلية ،وأوضح السيد مدير المستشفى عدم امكانية الحاق أطباء الامتياز للتدرب لديهم في الوقت الحالي نظرا لعدم وجود هذه الخدمة التدريبية لديهم حتى تاريخه .

وبعد نهاية الإجتماع قامت اللجنة بجولة تفقدية بالمستشفى وتم تفقد غرف العمليات ،غرف الإفاقة ،غرف الأطباء وذلك بصحبة استشاري جراحة الفم والوجه والفكين بالمستشفى د/ مروة رجائي (خريجة كلية طب الفم و الاسنان جامعة مصر الدولية).

وتم الاتفاق على إعداد مقترح لعرضه على الهيئة العامة للتأمين الصحى.

The Community Service and Environmental Affairs Committee, Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine, in collaboration with Operation Smile Egypt and World Dental Federation (FDI), organized an awareness campaign for 40 workers from the Faculty of Oral and Dental medicine. The event, in celebration of World Oral Health Day was conducted by 15 dental interns under the guidance of faculty members and staff. It was held on Wednesday, February 26^th, 2025.

The campaign focused on educating patients about oral and dental health, highlighting the importance of proper hygiene practices.  The dental interns provided informative sessions about demonstrated effective methods for maintaining oral hygiene, as well as awareness on the oral health challenges facing children with cleft lip and palate and what can be provided for them in MIU Dental Clinic Complex. As part of the initiative, toothbrushes and toothpaste were distributed to all patients attending the session.

حملة توعية لصحة الفم والأسنان للعاملات و العمال

في يوم الاربعاء 26 فبراير 2025، نظمت لجنة خدمة المجتمع وتنمية البيئة بكلية طب الفم والأسنان حملة توعية للعاملين وعددهم 40 بكلية طب الفم والأسنان بالجامعة، وذلك بالتعاون مع مؤسسة عملية الابتسامة – مصر و الاتحاد العالمى لطب الفم و الاسنان على هامش الاحتفال باليوم العالمى لصحة الفم و الاسنان، وبمشاركة 15 من أطباء وطبيبات الإمتياز تحت إشراف السادة أعضاء هيئة التدريس والمعاونين.

تم خلال الحملة توعية المرضى بأهمية صحة الفم والأسنان، حيث قام الأطباء بشرح طرق العناية بصحة الفم و توعية عن التحديات التى تواجه الاطفال المصابين بالشق الحلقى و الشفة الارنبية و ما يمكن ان يقدم لهم فى مجمع العيادات بكلية طب الفم و الاسنان. كما تم توزيع 40 فرشاة ومعجون أسنان على العاملين.

In celebration of the World Oral Health Day, together with the World Dental Federation (FDI) and the Operation Smile Egypt, the Community Service and Environmental Affairs Committee at the Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine organized an awareness campaign about the challenges facing children with cleft lip and palate. The campaign took place on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, on MIU Campus. This campaign represents an important step in raising awareness about oral health and enhancing community responsibility among students and doctors at the university.

The MIU-Operation Smile community volunteers displayed informative banners about the importance of oral health and featured cases of cleft lip and cleft palate and about oral health services that can be provided by MIU dental clinic complex to help these cases. A screen was also set up inside the booth to show videos of some of the cases under the umbrella of the collaboration between the Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine and Operation Smile Egypt.

Many faculty members and assistants from various academic departments across the university participated in the campaign, along with 52 interns who provided awareness inside the booth and also toured the university campus to spread the message to students and staff from different faculties.

حملة توعية بصحة الفم والأسنان بحرم الجامعة

على هامش الإحتفال باليوم العالمي لصحة الفم والأسنان قامت لجنة خدمة المجتمع وتنمية البيئة بكلية طب الفم والأسنان بتنظيم نشاط مجتمعى بالتعاون مع الاتحاد العالمى لطب الاسنان و جمعية الإبتسامة- مصر بأحد الأكشاك بالجامعة لإطلاق حملة توعية بصحة الفم والأسنان وذلك يوم الأربعاء الموافق 26 من فبراير 2025.

شارك في الحملة العديد من السادة أعضاء هيئة التدريس والهيئة المعاونة من الأقسام العلمية المختلفة بالجامعة وقام بالتوعية عدد 52 من أطباء الإمتياز ،حيث تم عرض لافتات تعريفية بأهمية صحة الفم و الاسنان وحالات الشق الحلقي والشفاه الأرنبية كما تم تخصيص شاشة داخل الكشك لعرض صور و فيديو توعوى و ما يمكن ان تقدمه كلية طب الفم و الاسنان بمجمع العيادات لهذه الحالات.

قام طبيبات وأطباء الإمتياز بعمل التوعية داخل الكشك وكذلك قاموا بالتجول داخل حرم الجامعة لنشر التوعية بين الطلبة والعاملين من مختلف الكليات.

في نهاية اليوم تم توزيع استبيانات على أطباء الإمتياز المشاركين لتقييم مدى رضاهم.
و قد بلغت نسبة الرضا بين المشاركين على 100%.
