The Faculty of Computer Science at MIU is proud to announce that two of its distinguished faculty members, Prof. Eslam Amer and Associate Prof. Diaa Salama, have both achieved remarkable recognition in the 2024 Stanford University Ranking, USA. Prof. Amer has earned this honor for the second time, while Associate Prof. Salama has received it for the third time, placing them among the top 2% of the most widely cited scientists worldwide.

Stanford Ranking includes over 160,000 researchers from more than 8 million active academics worldwide, spanning across 22 scientific fields and 176 subfields. The list relies on Scopus data provided by Elsevier. The evaluation is based on a composite indicator known as the c-score, which takes into account several factors, including the number of citations a scientist has received, the h-index, and field-normalized citation impact. The c-score is designed to be a more comprehensive measure of scientific impact compared to conventional metrics, such as the total number of citations.

This is a remarkable achievement for Prof. Eslam Amer and Associate Prof. Diaa Salama, and it is a testament to their outstanding research contributions and the high quality of work being undertaken at the Faculty of Computer Science, MIU. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to them both for this well-deserved recognition.

The Faculty of Computer Science held its annual Graduation Projects Day on Monday, July 1st, 2024. Parents were invited to celebrate the hard work of their sons and daughters. Renowned representatives of the industry in Egypt were also invited. At this event, the faculty gets instant feedback on the technical and professional standard of the students and see how well they match the demands of the job market.

The day featured three sessions focusing on artificial intelligence, software engineering, and cybersecurity projects. Additionally, several companies conducted interviews with graduates, offering promising job opportunities.

كلية المعلومات والحاسبات – يوم مشاريع التخرج

أقامت كلية المعلومات والحاسبات يوم الإثنين 1 يوليو 2024، حفلها السنوي ليوم مشروعات التخرج. تم دعوة أولياء الأمور للاحتفال بجهود أبنائهم وبناتهم إلى جانب ممثلين مرموقين من الصناعة في مصر. يوفر هذا الحدث للكلية النتائج الفورية حول المستوى الفني والمهني للطلاب ومدى تطابقها مع متطلبات سوق العمل.

تضمن اليوم ثلاث جلسات ركزت على مشروعات الذكاء الاصطناعي، هندسة البرمجيات، وأمن المعلومات. بالإضافة إلى ذلك، قامت عدة شركات بإجراء مقابلات مع الخريجين وعرض فرص عمل واعدة عليهم.

The Faculty of Computer Science at Misr International University (MIU) is proudly organizing the 4^th International Mobile, Intelligent, and Ubiquitous Computing Conference (MIUCC-2024), which will be held in Cairo, Egypt on 13-14 November 2024. The MIUCC-2024 is sponsored by IEEE Egypt section. Conference proceedings of accepted and presented papers will be submitted for publication at IEEE Xplore Digital Library. The proceedings will be submitted to be indexed by Ei Compendex and Scopus after the conference.

The MIUCC-2024 is intended to provide a forum to exchange experiences and promote recent trends in the fields of intelligent technologies in mobile and ubiquitous computing environments. MIUCC 2024 promotes dialogue between academia and the industry to bridge the gap between academic research, industry initiatives and governmental policies. It is also an excellent opportunity for young researchers to demonstrate current developments in the research fields. We invite all authors to participate and contribute to the forum with their research work and innovative projects.

The Faculty of Computer Science staff and students enthusiastically joined the illuminating “CDIS – Egypt Cybersecurity & Data Integration Systems Conference & Expo” event. Held from May 19th to 21st, 2024, at the Egypt International Exhibition Centre (EIEC), this 3-day event focused on cybersecurity and defense intelligence systems.

CDIS served as a comprehensive platform where professionals, experts, organizations, and government representatives converged to deepen their understanding, foster collaboration, and contribute to progressing cybersecurity practices, technologies, and policies. It facilitated knowledge sharing, networking, and cooperation among various cybersecurity and Data Integration stakeholders.

Featuring a diverse array of speakers, including government officials, industry leaders, cybersecurity experts, and technology innovators, CDIS offered enriching discussions on collaboration, innovation, and strategic planning in the digital landscape. These discussions, filled with insights from varied experiences and success stories, should inspire and motivate the audience, nurturing a culture of collaboration and innovation in the digital sphere.

The Faculty of Computer Science took an active role in promoting participation, ensuring that students and staff were able to attend. تمت إشراك أعضاء هيئة التدريس والهيئة المعاونة وطلاب كلية المعلومات و الحاسبات في مؤتمر “CDIS – مؤتمر ومعرض أنظمة أمن المعلومات والبيانات في مصر”. تم عقد الحدث في الفترة من 19 إلى 21 مايو 2024 في مركز معارض مصر الدولي (EIEC)، وكان هذا الحدث الذي استمر لثلاثة أيام متخصصًا في مجالات أمن المعلومات وأنظمة المخابرات الدفاعية.

خدم CDIS كمنصة شاملة حيث اجتمع المحترفون والخبراء والمنظمات وممثلو الحكومة لتعميق فهمهم، وتعزيز التعاون، والمساهمة في تقدم ممارسات وتقنيات وسياسات أمن المعلومات. ساهم في تبادل المعرفة والتواصل والتعاون بين مختلف أصحاب المصلحة في مجالات أمن المعلومات وتكامل البيانات.

The Faculty of Computer Science staff and students participated in the enlightening “CDIS – Egypt Cybersecurity & Data Integration Systems Conference & Expo” event. The event is a 3-day cybersecurity and defence intelligence systems conference and exhibition, which took place on 19-21 May, 2024 at the Egypt International Exhibition Centre (EIEC).

CDIS featured a Hackathon, a 3-day platform that not only encouraged innovation but also fostered learning and skill development in the field of cybersecurity. This initiative, with its objectives, collectively contributed to developing a stronger and more resilient cybersecurity ecosystem, inspiring us all to strive for excellence.

MIU secured a commendable position in the hackathon thanks to the outstanding achievements of computer science student Gana Sherif Ibrahim, who was part of the team that won first place.

شارك أعضاء هيئة التدريس وطلاب كلية المعلومات و الحاسبات في فعالية “مؤتمر ومعرض مصر للأمن السيبراني وأنظمة استخبارات البيانات (CDIS)”. هذا الحدث أمتد لثلاثة أيام حول نظم الأمن السيبراني والدفاع الاستخباراتي، والذي عقد في الفترة من 19-21 مايو 2024 في مركز مصر للمعارض الدولية (EIEC).

تضمن مؤتمر CDIS مسابقة هاكاثون استمرت لمدة ثلاثة أيام. شجعت هذه المسابقة على الابتكار والتعلم وتطوير المهارات في مجال الأمن السيبراني. تسهم أهدافها مجتمعة في تطوير نظام أمني سيبراني أقوى وأكثر مرونة.

حققت جامعة مصر الدولية (MIU) مركزًا مشرفًا في مسابقة الهاكاثون بفضل الطالبة في كلية المعلومات و الحاسبات جنى شريف إبراهيم، التي كانت في الفريق الذي حصل على المركز الأول.

Faculty of Computer Science students visited Vodafone International Solutions (VOIS) premises, Smart Village, on Sunday, 18th February 2024. The trip was organized by the Alumni and Career Development Office.

The purpose of the visit was for students to learn more about the work environment and the latest technology available in a company that is regarded as one of Egypt’s top employers.

نظم مكتب الخريجين وتطوير المهارات المهنية زيارة لطلاب كلية المعلومات والحاسبات إلى مقر (_VOIS) في القرية الذكية يوم الأحد، 18 فبراير 2024.

كان الهدف من الزيارة هو اطلاع الطلاب على بيئة العمل وأحدث التقنيات المتاحة في شركة تعتبر واحدة من أفضل الشركات التي يعمل بها في مصر.
