The Faculty of Computer Science at Misr International University (MIU)has recently awarded students the “Network Security” certificate as part of its collaboration with the Cisco Networking Academy. This initiative aims to equip students with essential cybersecurity skills to protect digital networks and infrastructure.

The program, taught by expert instructors such as Eng. Mostafa Abdelrahman, provides students with hands-on knowledge in securing network environments, mitigating threats, and implementing cybersecurity protocols.

The Faculty of Computer Science at Misr International University (MIU), teamed up with NVIDIA to organize a workshop titled Fundamentals of Deep Learning. This hands-on training session took place from January 27, 2025, to January 30, 2025, providing in-depth coverage of key deep learning concepts.

This specialized workshop was designed for senior students and academic staff, offering a unique opportunity to deepen their knowledge and skills in the rapidly evolving field of artificial intelligence (AI).

The Fundamentals of Deep Learning workshop is designed to provide participants with deep technical insights into AI and accelerated computing. NVIDIA, a global leader in AI technology, delivers cutting-edge training for developers, data scientists, technical artists, and researchers aiming to tackle complex challenges through advanced AI methodologies.

This workshop was conducted by Dr. Ahmed Mansour, an NVIDIA Deep Learning Institute (DLI) Ambassador, who brought his expertise to guide participants through the core concepts and practical applications of deep learning.

Participants explored the transformative power of deep learning, an advanced AI approach that leverages multi-layered artificial neural networks to deliver state-of-the-art accuracy in various critical applications.

The Graduation Projects Committee of the Faculty of Computer Science hosted a Technical Documentation Workshop on January 26, 2025, designed for students working on their graduation projects.

The session was led by Dr. Nisreen Elsaber and Eng. Nada Ayman Shorim, members of the Software Engineering Department. They provided in-depth guidance on the essential elements of technical documentation, including the expectations, standards, and resources necessary to ensure the success of each project.

A key focus of the workshop was the significance of technical documentation in graduation projects. Students were introduced to the Software Requirements Specification (SRS) and Software Design Document (SDD), both critical components that outline the project’s requirements and design architecture.

نظمت لجنة مشروعات التخرج بكلية المعلومات والحاسبات ورشة عمل حول كتابة الوثائق التقنية يوم 26 يناير 2025، واستهدفت هذه الورشة الطلاب المشاركين في مشروعات تخرجهم.

أدار الجلسة كل من الدكتورة نسرين الصابر والمهندسة ندى أيمن شريم، وهما من أعضاء قسم هندسة البرمجيات. وقد قدّموا إرشادات مفصلة حول العناصر الأساسية لكتابة الوثائق التقنية بما في ذلك التوقعات والمعايير والموارد اللازمة لضمان نجاح كل مشروع.

ركزت الورشة بشكل رئيسي على أهمية الوثائق التقنية في مشروعات التخرج. وتعرف الطلاب على مواصفات متطلبات البرمجيات (SRS) ووثيقة تصميم البرمجيات (SDD)، وهما عنصران أساسيان يحددان متطلبات المشروع وهيكلية التصميم.

The Faculty of Computer Science has held its regular “Meeting with the Dean” sessions in 00A Hall on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, for freshman students and Wednesday, December 11, 2024, for sophomore students.

The meetings are led by the Dean, Dr. Ayman Nabil, and are also attended by the esteemed vice presidents, Prof. Abdelnaser Hussein, Prof. Khaled Hussein, and Prof. Alaa Hamdy. Together, they aim to foster an open and collaborative environment for addressing student concerns.

The Faculty of Computer Science hosts its annual “Meeting with the Dean” sessions twice a year, during the fall and spring semesters. These sessions provide an invaluable opportunity for students to engage directly with the faculty’s leadership team.

The primary objective of these sessions is to facilitate meaningful dialogue between students and faculty leadership. Students are encouraged to voice their opinions, share their challenges, and propose solutions. The leadership team is committed to listening attentively and working collaboratively with students to resolve issues and enhance the overall educational experience.

انعقدت في كلية المعلومات و الحاسبات اللقاءات الدورية مع العميد في القاعة 00A يوم الأربعاء الموافق 27 نوفمبر 2024 لطلاب السنة الأولى، ويوم الأربعاء الموافق 11 ديسمبر 2024 لطلاب السنة الثانية.

تُدار الجلسات من قبل عميد الكلية، الدكتور أيمن نبيل، بحضور السادة الوكلاء الكرام: الأستاذ الدكتور عبد الناصر حسين، الأستاذ الدكتور خالد حسين، والأستاذ الدكتور علاء حمدي. تهدف هذه الجلسات إلى خلق بيئة مفتوحة وتعاونية لمعالجة قضايا الطلاب.

تعقد كلية المعلومات و الحاسبات جلسات “لقاء مع العميد” السنوية مرتين في العام، خلال فصلي الخريف والربيع. توفر هذه الجلسات فرصة جيدة للطلاب للتواصل المباشر مع فريق قيادة الكلية.

الهدف الأساسي من هذه الجلسات هو تسهيل الحوار المثمر بين الطلاب وقيادة الكلية. يُشجع الطلاب على التعبير عن آرائهم، ومشاركة التحديات التي يواجهونها، واقتراح الحلول. يلتزم فريق القيادة بالاستماع باهتمام والعمل بشكل تعاوني مع الطلاب لحل المشكلات وتحسين التجربة التعليمية بشكل عام.

Computer Science senior students had a very fruitful experience during their visit to the VOIS event at their premises in Smart Village.

The visit was held on Tuesday, November 19th, 2024, under the coordination of the Alumni office. This is part of the faculty’s ongoing efforts to engage students with industry experts and bridge the gap between academic life and the professional market.

The visit to VOIS aims to connect academia with the actual job market, equipping students with the skills they need to thrive in today’s dynamic environment. We believe in fostering strong partnerships with corporates to create a win-win situation for students.

نظمت كلية المعلومات والحاسبات رحلة للطلاب لزيارة النسخة الثامنة والعشرين من معرض القاهرة الدولي لتكنولوجيا المعلومات والاتصالات (Cairo ICT) تحت إشراف أعضاء هيئة التدريس بالكلية. يُعد Cairo ICT المعرض والمؤتمر التكنولوجي الرائد في الشرق الأوسط وأفريقيا، وقد أُقيم في الفترة من 17 إلى 20 نوفمبر بمركز مصر للمعارض الدولية في القاهرة الجديدة.

تضمنت فعاليات Cairo ICT ميزات خاصة منها:

The Faculty of Computer Science at Misr International University organized the 4th International Intelligent and Ubiquitous Computing Conference (MIUCC24). MIUCC24 was held, in a hybrid manner, on November 13-14, 2024, under the sponsorship of IEEE.

Researchers were invited to contribute to the conference by submitting articles that illustrate research results, projects, surveys, and industrial experiences that describe significant advances along several tracks. A total of 110 papers were submitted and reviewed by the technical committee comprising Egyptian and international reviewers. The committee accepted 69 papers to be included in MIUCC24.

The MIUCC24 provided an international forum for sharing knowledge on theories, methodologies, and applications of the significant computer science disciplines. This conference aimed to bring together researchers and practitioners from academia and the industry to focus on understanding recent concepts and establishing new collaborations in major computer science areas.

The conference included several keynote speeches by distinguished speakers from the industry, academia, and government sectors. The event also included panels and forums, sessions featuring technical papers, workshops focusing on the latest trends in various technologies, and tutorials delivered by experts in respective disciplines as well as exhibits, and a relaxing and entertaining banquet.

All accepted papers will be published in IEEE Xplore. Congratulations to all authors who contributed to MIUCC24!

المؤتمر الدولي الرابع لكلية علوم الحاسب الآلي

نظمت كلية المعلومات والحاسبات بجامعة مصر الدولية المؤتمر الدولي الرابع للحوسبة الذكية والشاملة (MIUCC24) في يومي 13 و14 نوفمبر 2024. عُقد MIUCC24 بصيغة هجينة تحت رعاية IEEE.

دُعي الباحثون للمشاركة في المؤتمر من خلال تقديم أبحاث تعرض نتائج أبحاث ومشروعات واستطلاعات وتجارب صناعية تصف تطورات كبيرة في عدة مسارات. تلقى المؤتمر 110 بحث تم تقييمها من قبل اللجنة الاكاديمية التي تضم مراجعين مصريين ودوليين. وقد قبلت اللجنة 69 ورقة بحثية ليتم تضمينها في MIUCC24.

وفر MIUCC24 منتدى دوليًا لتبادل المعرفة حول النظريات والمنهجيات وتطبيقات التخصصات الرئيسية في علوم وهندسة الحاسب. هدف المؤتمر إلى جمع الباحثين والممارسين من الأوساط الأكاديمية والصناعية للتركيز على فهم المفاهيم الحديثة وإقامة شراكات جديدة في مجالات علوم الحاسب الرئيسية.

تضمن المؤتمر العديد من الكلمات الرئيسية التي ألقاها متحدثون بارزون من القطاع الصناعي والأكاديمي والحكومي. كما شمل المؤتمر جلسات نقاش ومنتديات، وجلسات لعرض الأوراق التقنية، وورش عمل ركزت على أحدث الاتجاهات في مختلف تقنيات الحاسبات، ودروسًا تعليمية قدمها خبراء في المجالات المعنية، بالإضافة إلى معارض وحفل عشاء مريح وممتع.

تهانينا لجميع المؤلفين الذين ساهموا في MIUCC24. سيتم نشر جميع الأوراق المقبولة في مكتبة IEEE Xplore.

The Faculty of Computer Science hosted the annual Scientific Day on Wednesday, September, 25, 2024, in appreciation for  the achievements and contributions of students and staff members throughout the 2023/2024 academic year.

The Scientific Day aimed at providing motivation and support for both the students and the staff members who showed promising and exceptional performance in various areas.

The event began by honoring the top students with the highest cumulative GPA from each of the four classes.  Awards were also presented to students who had made remarkable academic contributions through their participation in course projects, and competitions. The event was concluded by honoring the Lecturers and Teaching Assistants who have consistently demonstrated excellent academic and research work.  The administrative staff with outstanding performance were also recognized.

The Scientific Day is always a memorable occasion, inspiring all attendees to strive for greatness and continue making valuable contributions to the field of computer science.

استضافت كلية المعلومات والحاسبات يومًا علميًا مميزًا يوم الأربعاء، 25 سبتمبر 2024، لتقدير إنجازات ومساهمات الطلاب وأعضاء هيئة التدريس على مدار السنة الأكاديمية 2023/2024.

ان الهدف من اليوم العلمي هو تحفيز ودعم الطلاب والسادة أعضاء هيئة التدريس الذين أظهروا أداءً واعدًا واستثنائيًا في مختلف المجالات العلمية والأكاديمية.

The Faculty of Computer Science, Misr International University is took part in the Ebhar Misr scholarship program, which is offered to talented students in Egyptian public schools. The scholarship includes a two-week summer camp to teach modern technologies, where Professor Alaa Hamdy taught embedded systems, while Dr. Ahmed Mansour taught artificial intelligence.

This participation reflects the university’s commitment to the development of technological skills for talented students and enhancing their capabilities in modern scientific fields.

This scholarship is sponsored by Crédit Agricole Egypt for Development and the Education First Foundation, and supervised by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Social Solidarity. The scholarship aims to discover talented students in the fields of science, technology, and arts across Egypt, targeting students aged 14 to 18. شاركت كلية المعلومات والحاسبات بجامعة مصر الدولية في منحة إبهار مصر و هي منحة مقدمة للطلاب الموهوبين بالمدارس الحكومية المصرية. تضم المنحة معسكر صيفي لمدة أسبوعين لتعليم التقنيات الحديثة، حيث قام الأستاذ الدكتور علاء حمدي بتدريس نظم التحكم المدمجة، بينما قام الدكتور أحمد منصور بتدريس الذكاء الاصطناعي. تعكس هذه المشاركة التزام الجامعة بالمساهمة في تنمية المهارات التكنولوجية للطلاب الموهوبين وتعزيز قدراتهم في المجالات العلمية الحديثة.
