The MIU Community Service and Environmental Affairs Sector organized a staff development workshop on Sunday the 13^th of May, 2018 entitled “Research Ethics Principles and Applications”. It was conducted by Dr. Isabelle Nakhla, Research Scientist, NAMRU-3 and consultant of MIU-IRB Committee. The aim of the workshop was to train potential new IRB members to comprehend the history of research ethics and the origin of the international regulations, understand the principles of research ethics and their applications, including informed consent process, confidentiality and risks and benefits of research. Additionally, the workshop shed light on the composition, roles and procedures of an IRB, and how to review a protocol for ethical considerations.

The attendees were teaching assistants and faculty members from Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine as well as Faculty of Pharmacy. The instructor was rated excellent by 90% and Very Good by 10% of the attendees. The workshop was rated excellent by (50%) of the participants, very good by 40% and good by 10%. The attendees’  recommendations included introducing the workshop to all staff members and having other workshops emphasizing the ethical guidelines in animal and human research.

In celebration of WHO’s Global Annual Campaign for hand hygiene, the MIU Community Service and Environmental Affairs sector in collaboration with the Infection Control Department at the Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine – MIU, organized Hand Hygiene Awareness Campaign on Monday the 14^th of May 2018.  The target audience was the University staff, administrators, personnel, students as well as patients of the MIU Dental Clinics. The campaign included lectures, PowerPoint presentations, videos as well as distribution of educational materials  and hand sanitizers.

The campaign was held in two venues: Dental Clinics Complex Seminar room for patients’ awareness sessions, and on-campus Diversey-sponsored booth for all University personnel. It  was rated excellent by 80%, very good by 16% and good by 4% of the attendees. The recommendations included  launching more campaigns, providing more educational materials and conducting the campaign outside the university.

قامت أسرة “Campaigners” بجامعة مصر الدولية بدعوة طلبة مدرسة طيبة للغات ومدرسة العروبة للغات إلى الجامعة لحضور نشاط داخل الحرم الجامعي هدفه هو انشاء حملات توعية في مجال البحث عن السلوك السلبي وتحويله الى سلوك إيجابي من خلال اربعة جوانب (علم النفس، العلوم الانسانية والاجتماعية والمسار المهني وريادة الاعمال والفلسفة) وكان عدد الحضور في هذا الحدث هو 111 طالب وطالبة، ومدة الحدث أربعة أيام تنقسم إلى:

– اليوم الأول: يوم الجمعة الموافق 1/3/2019 محاضرات لطلاب وطالبات مدرستي “طيبة “بالعبور و”العروبة” بالمعادي عن التسويق الاجتماعي وتضمنت المحاضرة تعليم الطلاب تحديد أهدافهم وطموحاتهم، وما هي الوسائل التي ستساعدهم لتحقيق وتخطيط مستقبلهم. حيث كان الهدف من هذه المحاضرة هو تسهيل كيفية التعامل مع أي شيء يخص مستقبلهم وكيفية تحديد واستنتاج ما يعود عليهم بالنفع في حياتهم لأن تحديد الأهداف والطموحات تعد من أهم مقومات النجاح. من أهم النقاط في هذه المحاضرة هي معرفة النفس والشغف وربطها بالحياة المهنية.

– اليوم الثاني: يوم الثلاثاء الموافق 19/3/2019 محاضرات لطلاب وطالبات مدرستي “طيبة “بالعبور و”العروبة” بالمعادي عن التسويق الاجتماعي وتضمنت هذه المحاضرة شرح ما هو الشغف وما الفرق بين العاطفة والحب والربط بينهم بمعرفة الذات وحب الذات وقبولها.
علم النفس يعد من أهم العلوم لأنه يعلمك كيفية التعامل مع الأخرين من ناحية معرفة شخصيتهم، ميولهم، نقاط القوة، ونقاط الضعف لتسهيل وتحقيق عملية الأقناع عند المناقشة، حيث تعد عملية الأقناع من أصعب الأشياء.

– اليوم الثالث: يوم الأربعاء الموافق 20/3/2019 محاضرات لطلاب وطالبات مدرستي “طيبة “بالعبور و”العروبة” بالمعادي عن التسويق الاجتماعي وتضمنت هذه المحاضرة العلوم الإنسانية: الاستمرار في شرح علم النفس والبدء في العلاج بطرح أسئلة وربطها بالعاطفة مع شرح الفرق بين الإنسان والشخص والإنسانيات ومناقشة ما إذا كانت العاطفة جيدة أم سيئة.

– اليوم الرابع: يوم الأربعاء الموافق 10/4/2019 مسابقة بين طلاب وطالبات مدرستي “طيبة “بالعبور و”العروبة” بالمعادي عن طريق تقديم حملات عن التسويق الاجتماعي يتم بها تقسيم الطلاب الي عدة فرق ويتكون كل فريق من عدد معين من الطلبة هدفهم الاساسي هو ادارة حملة تسويق اجتماعي بكل محتوياتها ومن ثم تنفيذها مما يساعدهم على تعلم كيفية تحليل ووصف المشكلة بالإضافة الي تقسيم عناصرها وتحديد اهدافها ثم تنفيذ الخطة ماديا ومعنويا.
وفي نهاية الحدث تم توزيع شهادات وجوائز للفائزين بالمراكز المتقدمة.

On Monday the 30^th of April 2018 a workshop was held in collaboration between Elsevier and Egyptian Knowledge Bank. The workshop entitled “What is ClinicalKey?” was introduced by Dr Ahmed El Saeed, Project Manager, Elsevier.  The content of the workshop was introduction to clinicalkey and its content   how to get the most of it and how the user can access it.

The target audience was Faculty members and teaching assistants from both Faculty of Dentistry as well as Faculty of Pharmacy. Students from both Faculties were also invited. The instructor was rated excellent by 100% of the attendees. The workshop was rated excellent by 38.1% of the participants, very good by 47.6% and good by14.3%. The attendees asked for more time to cover the topic.

In cooperation with the Egyptian Knowledge Bank, The University Community Service Committee organized a workshop on Sunday the 17th of March 2019 entitled “SAGE Knowledge”
It was introduced by Dr Ahmed EL Saeed, Library Training Executive, one of the contributors from the Egyptian Knowledge Bank (EKB). The workshop focused on top 10 things to know about SAGE, how SAGE knowledge supports research and what is SAGE journals. Faculty members as well as teaching assistants from all faculties attended the workshop.
The instructor was rated excellent by 57%of the participants, very good by 29% and Good by 14%.

On Monday the 7th of May 2018 a workshop was held in collaboration with the Egyptian Knowledge Bank. It was given by Dr. Lea Gagnon, Editorial Development Advisor; Ph.D. University of Montreal and aimed at helping researchers discover, apply and create new tools.
It also presented ways to increase the chance of publication through planning the study, designing an RCT, collecting and analyzing data, avoiding biases and writing your manuscript. The attendees were teaching assistants and faculty members from Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine as well as Faculty of Pharmacy. The instructor was rated excellent by 100% of the attendees. The workshop was rated excellent by (53.8%) of the participants, very good (30.8%) and good (15.4%). The attendees asked for more time to cover the topic.

In its continued pursuit to attain the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and reach a higher international ranking than last year, Misr International University sets to apply for Times Education Impact Ranking 2021. The data that will be submitted covers the most significant achievements, endeavors, and activities made by the University during the academic year 2018/2019. The report will be submitted before the end of data collection cycle on 30/11/2020.
The SDGs addressed in the 2018/2019 report include SDG1 (No poverty), SDG3 (Good health and well-being), SDG 4 (Quality education), SDG5 (Gender equality), SDG6 (Clean water and sanitation), SDG10 (Reduced inequalities), and SDG17 (Partnerships for the goals) among others.
Last year MIU ranked 601+ by The Times Higher Education Impact Rankings – the only global performance tables that assess universities against the UNSDGs.

جامعة مصر الدولية تسعى للحصول على تصنيف دولي أعلى

استمرارًا لجهودها لتحقيق المزيد من أهداف التنمية المستدامة للأمم المتحدة وارتقاء مرتبة دولية أعلى بين أفضل الجامعات في العالم، بدأت جامعة مصر الدولية في إعداد التقرير الذي سيتم التقدم به إلى لجنة تصنيف التايمز البريطاني لمؤسسات التعليم العالي 2021. ويهدف التقرير إلى تسليط الضوء على أهم الإنجازات والمساعي والأنشطة التي حققتها الجامعة خلال العام الدراسي 2018/2019. وسيتم تقديم التقرير قبل نهاية دورة جمع البيانات في 30/11/2020.

ومن بين أهداف التنمية المستدامة التي يتناولها تقرير 2018/2019: هدف 1 (القضاء على الفقر) ، والهدف 3 (الصحة الجيدة والرفاه) ، والهدف 4 (التعليم الجيد) ، والهدف 5 (المساواة بين الجنسين) ، والهدف 6 (المياه النظيفة والنظافة الصحية) ، والهدف 10 (الحد من أوجه عدم المساواة. ) و الهدف 17 (عقد الشراكات لتحقيق الأهداف) من بين عدة أهداف أخرى.

يذكر أن جامعة مصر الدولية احتلت في العام الماضي المرتبة 601+ حسب مؤشرات تصنيف التايمز والتي تقيم الجامعات على أساس دورها في تحقيق أهداف التنمية المستدامة طبقاً لمعايير الأمم المتحدة.

The University Community Services and Environmental Affairs Committee organized a workshop titled “Research Quality and Performance” in cooperation with the Egyptian Knowledge Bank. It was held on Wednesday 16th of October 2019 and was introduced by Dr. Ayman Akil Senior Consultant in Research and Academics, Clarivate Analytics, and Dr. Amin Triki, Clarivate Analytics Company.
The objectives of the workshop were to define research subject areas, research methodology, quality matrix of indicators, what, where and why to publish, in addition to the applicability of our data to research planning, execution and translation.
The workshop was attended by faculty members and teaching assistants from all faculties.
The instructor was rated Excellent by 44.4% of the participants, Very Good by 44.4% and Good by 11%.

يوم السبت الموافق 10 نوفمبر في فندق الدوسيت تاني ليك فيو بالتجمع الخامس لرؤساء الجامعات والمراكز البحثية، وممثلين عن لجان التصنيف الدولي. ولقد مثل جامعة مصر الدولية كلاً من رئيس الجامعة ونائب رئيس الجامعة لخدمة المجتمع وتنمية البيئة ومسؤولي التصنيف الدولي بالجامعة. وحضر اللقاء الأستاذ الدكتور طارق شوقي وزير التربية والتعليم الفني والأستاذ الدكتور خالد عبد الغفار وزير التعليم العالي والبحث العلمي، وذلك لمناقشة الخبرات والتجارب الدولية والمحلية في استخدام سايفال.
