On Monday, May 5, 2025, Misr International University (MIU) hosted its 2nd annual sustainable development conference, “AI for a Sustainable Future: Advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals”. The event focused on AI’s applications across diverse fields like dentistry, medicine, engineering and the humanities and social sciences. Participants emphasized the need to integrate AI into scientific research while addressing ethical considerations, viewing AI as a supportive tool for humans.

The conference brought together prominent researchers and experts from institutions such as Cairo University, Ain Shams University, the Egyptian Drug Authority and the National Research Centre, along with representatives from the World Dental Federation and the Ministry of Higher Education. Feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with a 93% satisfaction rate. Many suggested extending the conference to two days for greater attendance.

This conference underscores MIU’s commitment to aligning scientific research with societal needs, achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals and supporting Egypt Vision 2030, while also aiming to boost MIU’s international academic standing.

جامعة مصر الدولية تنظم مؤتمرها الثاني حول الذكاء الاصطناعي والتنمية المستدامة

في يوم الاثنين الموافق 5 مايو 2025 نظمت جامعة مصر الدولي مؤتمرها السنوي الثاني للتنمية المستدامة تحت عنوان “الذكاء الاصطناعي من أجل مستقبل مستدام: تعزيز أهداف الأمم المتحدة للتنمية المستدامة”. ركز المؤتمر على تطبيقات الذكاء الاصطناعي في مجالات متنوعة مثل طب الأسنان والطب والهندسة والعلوم الإنسانية والاجتماعية. أكد المشاركون على ضرورة دمج الذكاء الاصطناعي في البحث العلمي معتبرين الذكاء الاصطناعي أداة داعمة للبشر.

جمع المؤتمر باحثين وخبراء بارزين من مؤسسات مثل جامعة القاهرة وجامعة عين شمس وهيئة الدواء المصرية والمركز القومي للبحوث بالإضافة إلى ممثلين من الاتحاد العالمي لطب الأسنان ووزارة التعليم العالي. كانت ردود الفعل إيجابية للغاية حيث بلغت نسبة الرضا 93%. اقترح العديد من المشاركين تمديد المؤتمر إلى يومين لزيادة الحضور.

يؤكد هذا المؤتمر على التزام جامعة مصر الدولية بتوجيه البحث العلمي لخدمة قضايا المجتمع وتحقيق أهداف التنمية المستدامة ورؤية مصر 2030 وتعزيز مكانتها في التصنيفات الدولية.

Misr International University (MIU) has been ranked 171-180 among 246 Arab universities in the QS Arab University Rankings 2025. The ranking, which assessed universities across 20 Arab countries, considered factors including academic reputation, international research network, faculty-student ratio, and research impact.

The announcement was made during the annual QS Arab Forum held in Amman, Jordan, from October 16-17, 2024. Prof. Dr. Mahassen Muhammad Farghaly, Acting President of MIU, represented the university at the event. This recognition is a testament to MIU’s dedication to providing high-quality education and fostering a vibrant research environment.

حصلت جامعة مصر الدولية على المركز 171-180 من بين 246 جامعة عربية في تصنيفات QS للجامعات العربية لعام 2025. وشمل التصنيف 20 دولة عربية وأخذ في الاعتبار عوامل تشمل السمعة الأكاديمية وشبكة البحث الدولية ونسبة أعضاء هيئة التدريس إلى الطلاب وتأثير البحوث.

جاء هذا الإعلان خلال منتدى QS العربي السنوي الذي عقد في عمان، الأردن في الفترة من 16 إلى 17 أكتوبر 2024. ومثلت جامعة مصر الدولية في هذا الحدث أ.د. محاسن محمد فرغلي القائم بأعمال رئيس الجامعة.

يعد هذا الاعتراف بمثابة شهادة على تفاني جامعة مصر الدولية في توفير تعليم عالي الجودة وتعزيز البيئة البحثية.

Misr International University obtained a ranking in the QS Arab Region University Rankings 2024, which included 36 Egyptian universities (23 public universities and 13 private universities).
The university ranked (171-200) in the overall rating, 29th among Egyptian universities and 8th among private universities.

حصلت جامعة مصر الدولية على ترتيب في تصنيف QS للجامعات في المنطقة العربية 2024 والذي ضم 36 جامعة مصرية منها 23 جامعة حكومية و13 جامعة خاصة.

جاءت جامعة مصر الدولية في المرتبة (171-200) في التصنيف العام والمرتبة 29 على الجامعات المصرية والمرتبة 8 على الجامعات الخاصة.

Misr International University (MIU) has achieved an important milestone, being ranked among the best universities in the world in the Times Higher Education Impact Ranking.

As one of the universities contributing most to the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, MIU has ranked 1001-1500 among 2152 universities from 125 countries worldwide. In Goal 3, Good Health and Well-being, MIU ranked 401 – 600, in Goal 6, Clean Water and Sanitation, it ranked 401 – 600, in Goal 16, Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, it ranked 401 – 600 and in Goal 17, Partnership for the Goals, the university ranked 1001-1500.

This rank highlights the commitment of the University’s Faculty, staff, and students to actively pursue the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, thereby enhancing the university’s international standing.

حققت جامعة مصر الدولية إنجازًا مهمًا، حيث تم تصنيفها من بين أفضل الجامعات في العالم في تصنيف التايمز للتعليم العالي للسنة الخامسة. وجاء تصنيف جامعة مصر الدولية بين أكثر المؤسسات مساهمةً في تحقيق أهداف الأمم المتحدة للتنمية المستدامة في المرتبة من 1001-1500 ضمن 2152 جامعة من 125 دولة على مستوى العالم.

جاءت الجامعة في المرتبة من 401 – 600 في تحقيق الهدف الثالث من أهداف التنمية المستدامة (الصحة الجيدة والرفاه) وجاءت في المرتبة من 401 – 600 في تحقيق الهدف السادس (المياه النظيفة والنظافة الصحية) وجاءت في المرتبة من 401 – 600 في تحقيق الهدف السادس عشر (السلام والعدل والمؤسسات القوية) وجاءت الجامعة في المرتبة من 1001 – 1500 في تحقيق الهدف السابع عشر (الشراكة من أجل التنمية المستدامة).

يبرز هذا التصنيف الذي وصلت إليه جامعة مصر الدولية التزام أعضاء هيئة التدريس والموظفين والطلاب في الجامعة ببذل الجهود من أجل تحقيق أهداف الأمم المتحدة للتنمية المستدامة ويعزز من مكانة الجامعة عالميًا.

نظمت جامعة مصر الدولية في يوم السبت الموافق 17 فبراير 2024 مؤتمرها الأول حول أهداف التنمية المستدامة 2030 في مقر الجامعة والذي حمل عنوان ” نحو مستقبل مستدام: الابتكارات والتحديات والفرص”. تأتي هذه الخطوة ضمن جهود الجامعة لنشر الوعي بأهمية التنمية المستدامة والمساهمة في تعزيز مكانة الجامعة في تصنيف “التايمز” الدولي الذي يستند إلى مساهمة الجامعات في تحقيق أهداف الأمم المتحدة للتنمية المستدامة.

شهد المؤتمر مشاركة فعّالة من قبل أساتذة الجامعة والطلاب والخريجين، بالإضافة إلى مشاركين من جامعات ومؤسسات تعليمية وبحثية مثل الجامعة الأميركية بالقاهرة وجامعة عين شمس وجامعة الإسكندرية وهيئة الدواء المصرية والمركز القومي للبحوث ووزارة الاتصالات ومؤسسة القادة الشباب. وتميزت الجلسات بتقديم أبحاث علمية تتناول مختلف جوانب التنمية المستدامة وأهدافها.

وقد حضر المؤتمر شخصيات بارزة في عدة مجالات ساهمت بتقديم رؤى وتوجيهات قيمة لدعم مسيرة الجامعة نحو تحقيق المزيد من التميز والنجاح في تحقيق أهداف التنمية المستدامة. وكان من بين الحضور أ.د/ محمد ضياء زين العابدين رئيس جامعة عين شمس، و أ.د/ عبد الناصر سنجاب، عضو اللجنة الثلاثية لإدارة أعمال نقابة الصيادلة، و أ.د/ أيمن الخطيب، نائب رئيس هيئة الدواء المصرية، إضافة إلى أساتذة من المركز القومي للبحوث وأخصائيين في الإستراتيجية والاستدامة من شركة جيزة سيستمز الرائدة في مجال تمكين التحول الرقمي.

ومن أبرز القضايا التي سلط المؤتمر الضوء عليها أهمية دمج أهداف التنمية المستدامة في المناهج الأكاديمية وضرورة تنمية مهارات القيادة واتخاذ القرار وحل المشكلات بين الطلاب من أجل تمكينهم لخدمة المجتمع على النحو الأمثل. كما تناولت جلسات المؤتمر الممارسات الصديقة للبيئة التي تنفذها الجامعة وكذلك الهيئات الحكومية في كافة القطاعات.

ودعا المؤتمر الباحثين إلى إجراء دراسات بينية والسعي لمعالجة مختلف أهداف التنمية المستدامة، ليس بالضرورة تلك المتعلقة بتخصصاتهم المحددة.

ساهم المؤتمر في نشر الوعي بأهمية التنمية المستدامة ودور الجامعة في تحقيقها من خلال استعراض إنجازات الجامعة والتجارب الناجحة التي حققتها استجابة للعديد من الأهداف، ووفر منصة لتبادل المعرفة والخبرات بين الباحثين في مجالات مختلفة.

قدم المؤتمر توصيات مهمة تهدف إلى دعم جهود الجامعة في تحقيق أهداف التنمية المستدامة وتعزيز مكانتها في التصنيفات الدولية المتعلقة بهذا الجانب، ومن بين المقترحات التي قدمها الحضور ضرورة تنظيم هذا المؤتمر سنويًا لما له من تأثير كبير على توجيه العملية التعليمية والبحث العلمي في خدمة المجتمع.

وعلى هامش المؤتمر، اقامت الجامعة معرضًا لخريجي وطلاب الجامعة للترويج لمنتجاتهم اليدوية والملابس والإكسسوارات بهدف تعزيز ريادة الأعمال وتشجيع روح المبادرة بين الطلاب من خلال دعم مشاريعهم الصغيرة.

تم إرسال استطلاع إلى المشاركين في المؤتمر لقياس مدى رضاهم، وكانت النتائج إيجابية للغاية، حيث عبر الحضور عن رضاهم الشديد عن الجلسات وتنظيم الفعاليات.

يعد مؤتمر الجامعة الأول حول أهداف التنمية المستدامة خطوة مهمة نحو تحقيق التنمية المستدامة في مصر، وتعزيز دور الجامعات في خدمة المجتمع.

On Saturday, February 17, 2024, MIU held its 1st conference on Sustainable Development Goals 2030. The conference was held on MIU premises under the title “Creating a Sustainable Future: Innovations, Challenges and Opportunities”.

This initiative reflects the university’s commitment to raising awareness about the significance of sustainable development and bolstering its standing in the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings, which evaluates universities based on their contributions towards attaining the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Distinguished by vibrant engagement, the conference witnessed active participation from university faculty, students, and alumni. Participants from various academic institutions and research bodies, including the American University in Cairo, Ain Shams University, Alexandria University, the Egyptian Medicine Authority, the National Research Center, the Ministry of Communications, and the Young Leaders Foundation also joined the conference.

The conference attracted esteemed figures from diverse fields who imparted invaluable insights to support MIU’s journey towards excellence in sustainable development. Prof. Dr. Mohamed Diaa Zein Al-Abidin, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Dr. Abdel Nasser Sinjab, a member of the tripartite committee managing the Pharmacists Syndicate, and Prof. Dr. Ayman Al-Khatib, Vice President of the Egyptian Medicines Authority, were among the attendees. Experts from the National Research Center and sustainability specialists from Giza Systems, a leading digital transformation company, also participated in the sessions.

The conference emphasized the importance of integrating the SDGs into academic curricula and equipping students with leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills to empower them to serve the community. Furthermore, the sessions spotlighted eco-friendly initiatives and practices undertaken by the university and governmental bodies across sectors.

In her opening speech, the University President urged scholars to address various SDGs, transcending their disciplinary boundaries. This call underscored the significance of collective efforts in achieving holistic sustainability.

The conference contributed to spreading awareness of the importance of sustainable development and the university’s role in achieving it by reviewing the university’s achievements in response to many goals, providing a platform for exchanging knowledge and experiences between researchers in different fields.

Several recommendations were made by the participants and attendees, including a suggestion to hold this event annually due to its transformative impact on education and research.

On the sidelines of the conference, the university hosted an exhibition showcasing handmade products, clothing, and accessories branded by university alumni and students. The event aimed to foster entrepreneurship, and cultivate a spirit of innovation among students by supporting their small projects.

A survey was sent to the attendees after the event to measure their satisfaction with the conference. The responses were generally positive, affirming the rich content presented in the sessions and the excellent organization of the event.

MIU’s 1st conference on SDGs is a significant stride towards advancing sustainable development in Egypt and emphasizing the essential role of universities in community service.

Misr International University holds its first conference on Sustainable Development Goals 2030 on Saturday, February 17, 2024. Misr International University is proud to announce that the Journal of Fundamental and Clinical Research (JFCR), the official journal of the medical sector at MIU, has attained a commendable rank of 6 out of 7 by the Supreme Council of Universities.

JFCR is a multidisciplinary online journal, committed to delivering comprehensive high-quality research and sharing advanced pharmaceutical, dental, and medical knowledge. Its mission is to benefit all health professionals across various disciplines.

As a peer-reviewed, double-blind, open-access and free-of-charge medical journal, the JFCR serves as a platform for insightful research contributions. To ensure a steady flow of knowledge, two issues of the JFCR are published per year in June and December.

All health professionals, researchers, and students are invited to explore the wealth of knowledge within the pages of JFCR and to contribute to the advancement of the medical field.
