The Architecture Department’s Final Graduation Project Evaluation was held from June 25- 27. The jury featured renowned jurors- Prof. Luca Deon, professor of architecture at Hochschule Luzern and founder of Deon Architekten and Prof. Amr Abd El Kawi, professor of architecture at the American University in Cairo.

The esteemed professionals brought a wealth of experience and expertise to the table, providing students with invaluable feedback and deeper insights into their projects. This engagement not only validated the students’ hard work but also inspired them to push the boundaries of their designs and continue striving for excellence in the field of architecture. The guidance given by these jurors will undoubtedly shape the students’ future careers, leaving a lasting impact on their professional development and contributions.

The School of Architecture at Misr International University celebrates the successful completion of the Spring 2024 Design course for our fourth-year architecture students. Recently, these students showcased their final innovative designs for a “Mixed-Use Residential Tower” to the jury during the last week of May, marking the culmination of a semester filled with learning and creativity.

The esteemed evaluators, Prof. Yasser Sakr and Prof. Osama Abdou, provided valuable feedback as they assessed the students’ designs. This rigorous evaluation highlighted the students’ capabilities in integrating creative design concepts while adhering to regulatory requirements and functional considerations.

Under the guidance of Dr. Mostafa El-Attal and Dr. Mahmoud El-Nably, the Design course challenged students to push the boundaries of their design capabilities. They were supported by an academic team that included Arch. Layla Ashraf, Arch. Sherry Eskarous, Arch. Meritte Emad, and Arch. Yara Hesham, who provided mentorship and expertise throughout the semester.

This successful presentation reflects our commitment to nurturing excellence in architectural education, preparing our students to become future leaders in the field of architecture.

Third year MIU Architecture Engineering students had an enriching experience immersing themselves in El Gouna’s distinctive urban and architectural landscape. This was part of their Aquatic Research Center design course, a three-day  event, held from February 21st to 23^rd. This educational excursion aimed to provide students with practical insights into site analysis and urban planning, bridging the gap between classroom theories and real-world applications.  

On the first day, students explored El Gouna’s natural and artificial features, including topography, vegetation, street patterns, public spaces, and connectivity. They also evaluated two proposed design sites: the Mangrove Area and the Old Town Area, collecting data on their development potential.

The second day involved students presenting their detailed reports and visual aids, followed by discussions with El Gouna residents. These interactions provided valuable community insights and feedback on the proposed development sites.

Overall, the El Gouna visit emphasized the importance of incorporating local perspectives in architectural design, equipping students with essential skills for future challenges in urban planning. It reflects the faculty’s commitment to experiential learning and prepares students for their careers in architecture.”

تجربة غنية لطلاب السنة الثالثة قسم الهندسة المعمارية في كلية الهندسة جامعة مصر الدولية

استمتع طلاب السنة الثالثة قسم الهندسة المعمارية في كلية الهندسة جامعة مصر الدولية بتجربة غنية حيث اندمجوا في المشهد الحضري والمعماري المميز للجونة وذلك كجزء من دورتهم في تصميم مركز البحوث المائية التي عقدت من 21 فبراير إلى 23 فبراير. استمرت هذه الرحلة التعليمية لمدة ثلاثة أيام وتهدف إلى تزويد الطلاب برؤى عملية حول تحليل المواقع والتخطيط الحضري، مع تقديم جسر بين نظريات الفصول الدراسية وتطبيقات العالم الحقيقي.

في اليوم الأول، استكشف الطلاب معالم الجونة الطبيعية والاصطناعية، بما في ذلك التضاريس والنباتات، وأنماط الشوارع والمساحات العامة والتواصل. قاموا أيضًا بتقييم مواقع التصميم المقترحة: منطقة المنجروف ومنطقة المدينة القديمة، حيث جمعوا بيانات حول إمكانيات تطويرها.

في اليوم الثاني، قدم الطلاب تقاريرهم المفصلة والوسائط المرئية، تلاها مناقشات مع سكان الجونة. توفر هذه التفاعلات رؤى قيمة من المجتمع وتعليقات حول المواقع المقترحة للتطوير.

في المجمل، أبرزت زيارة الجونة أهمية دمج وجهات النظر المحلية في التصميم المعماري، مما يجهز الطلاب بالمهارات الأساسية لمواجهة التحديات المستقبلية في التخطيط الحضري. إنها تعكس التزام كلية الهندسة بالتعلم التجريبي وتجهيز الطلاب لمهنهم في مجال العمارة.

انتهت زيارة أعضاء فريق لجنة زيارة تجديد الاعتماد الموقرة من قبل الهيئة القومية لضمان جودة التعليم والاعتماد لكلية العلوم والفنون الهندسية وذلك يوم الثلاثاء الموافق 27 فبراير 2024.

يستقبل أ.د/ حسن غيطاني عميد كلية العلوم والفنون الهندسية فريق لجنة المراجعة الخارجية لتجديد الاعتماد من قبل الهيئة القومية لضمان جودة التعليم والاعتماد خلال الفترة من الأحد الموافق 25 فبراير 2024 وحتى الثلاثاء الموافق 27 فبراير 2024 وستبدأ اللجنة تنفيذ برنامج الزيارة وفقًا للجدول الزمني المحدد عقب الاجتماع البروتوكولي مع القيادات الأكاديمية بالجامعة.

On February 5th, 2024, fifth-year Architecture students went on a site visit to Ismailia city for their graduation project. They are working on creating a specialized museum & media center.
Students visited the Suez Canal and immersed themselves in the rich tapestry of Ismailia’s landscape, history, and culture. They also visited the Ismailia Monuments Museum where they gained a deeper understanding of the city’s architectural heritage and cultural significance.
The faculty would like to express its sincere gratitude to the graduation staff for their unwavering support and guidance.

طلاب الهندسة المعمارية يزورون متحف آثار الإسماعيلية

في 5 فبراير 2024 قام طلاب السنة الخامسة في كلية الهندسة المعمارية بزيارة ميدانية إلى مدينة الإسماعيلية لتعزيز مهاراتهم في العمل على مشروع التخرج الذي يهدف إلى إنشاء متحف متخصص ومركز إعلامي.

زار الطلاب قناة السويس واستمتعوا بالمناظر الطبيعية والتاريخ والثقافة في الإسماعيلية. وزاروا أيضًا متحف آثار الإسماعيلية حيث اكتسبوا فهمًا أعمق للتراث المعماري للمدينة. وتود الكلية أن تعرب عن خالص امتنانها لأعضاء هيئة التدريس الذين يشرفون على مشروع التخرج على دعمهم وتوجيههم الدائم.

استضاف قسم العمارة لجنة تحكيم مقرر التصميم Design 5Aفي 18 ديسمبر والتي تضم الأستاذ الدكتور عمرو عبد القوي من الجامعة الأمريكية بالقاهرة، والأستاذ أحمد حسني، وكيل كلية الفنون الجميلة، والأستاذ أحمد عاطف فجال، رئيس قسم العمارة بجامعة عين شمس، والأستاذ ياسر صقر، الرئيس الأسبق لجامعة حلوان. وقد قدم أعضاء لجنة التحكيم ملاحظاتهم القيمة التي ساهمت في توسيع آفاق المعرفة لدى الطلاب.

On December 18^th, MIU Architecture Department welcomed Professor Amr Abdelkawi, from the American University in Cairo, Professor Ahmed Hosny, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts, Professor Ahmed Atef Faggal, Dean at Ain Shams University, and Professor Yasser Sakr, former Director of Helwan University as jurors for Design 5A projects.

During the jury day, the professors provided their insightful remarks and valuable feedback to students, expanding their horizons and perspectives.
