FAE 01 Trip to the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization

On Wednesday and Thursday 20-21/11/2024, two educational trips to the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization were organized for about 240 students enrolled in the Fundamentals of Academic English I (FAE 01) course.

The purpose of the visit was to provide the students with a learning experience about Egyptian history and culture, which they were required to describe in both oral and written forms in their classes the following week. Throughout the visit, the students were encouraged to use English in asking questions and discussing the exhibits with their teachers and peers, improving their language skills and cultural awareness.

رحلة مقرر FAE 01 إلى المتحف القومي للحضارة المصرية

في يومي الأربعاء والخميس الموافق 20-21/11/2024 تم تنظيم رحلتين تعليميتين إلى المتحف القومي للحضارة المصرية لـ240 طالبًا مسجلين في مقرر أساسيات اللغة الإنجليزية الأكاديمية I (FAE 01).

كان الغرض من الزيارة هو تزويد الطلاب بتجربة تعليمية حول التاريخ والثقافة المصرية والتي طُلب منهم وصفها شفهيًا وكتابيًا في المحاضرات في الأسبوع التالي. وأثناء الزيارة تم تشجيع الطلاب على استخدام اللغة الإنجليزية في طرح الأسئلة ومناقشة المعروضات مع معلميهم وزملائهم مما أدى إلى تحسين مهاراتهم اللغوية ووعيهم الثقافي.

Students of Al-Alsun & Mass Communication Participate in a Community Service Visit to Al-Nas Hospital

The Faculty of Al-Alsun & Mass Communication Community Service Sector organized a visit to Al-Nas Children’s Charitable Hospital in Shubra El-Kheima on Monday, November 25, 2024.

The faculty members and students were welcomed by Amr Saad, the hospital’s Communication Manager who shared insights into the hospital’s history and its commitment to providing free treatment for children with congenital heart defects and digestive system diseases. During the visit, students toured the hospital, learned about its mission and distributed toys and stationery to the children. Two students generously donated blood, demonstrating a strong commitment to helping others.

This initiative aligns with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goal of ensuring good health and well-being for all. By participating in this community service activity, students gained valuable experiences and developed a deeper sense of empathy and social responsibility.

طلاب الألسن والإعلام يشاركون في زيارة لمستشفى الناس

نظم قطاع خدمة المجتمع بكلية الألسن والإعلام زيارة لمستشفى الناس الخيري للأطفال بشبرا الخيمة يوم الإثنين 25 نوفمبر 2024.
وكان في استقبال أعضاء هيئة التدريس والطلاب عمرو سعد مدير الاتصالات بالمستشفى الذي تحدث عن تاريخ المستشفى والتزامها بتوفير العلاج المجاني للأطفال الذين يعانون من عيوب خلقية في القلب وأمراض الجهاز الهضمي. وخلال الزيارة قام الطلاب بجولة في المستشفى وتعرفوا على رسالتها وقاموا بتوزيع الألعاب على الأطفال. وقد تبرعت طالبتان بالدم مما يدل على التزامهما القوي بمساعدة الآخرين.
تتماشى هذه المبادرة المجتمعية مع الهدف الثالث من أهداف التنمية المستدامة للأمم المتحدة المتمثل في ضمان الصحة الجيدة والرفاهية للجميع. ومن خلال المشاركة في هذه الزيارة اكتسب الطلاب خبرات قيمة ونما لديهم الشعور بالمسؤولية المجتمعية تجاه الآخرين.

Faculty of Business Administration Held an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Workshop

Faculty of Business Administration held an Artificial Intelligence (AI) workshop for the Business Intelligence students and Faculty Staff on two successive days 13^th and 14^th of November. The workshop was conducted by Mr. Andrew Labib & Mr. Peter Ibrahim, AI technology experts. The focus was on crafting high-quality prompts to optimize results from various AI applications. Students were introduced to over 15 AI tools across different domains, including data analysis and content creation. To solidify their learning, they undertook a comprehensive capstone project. This involved developing a practical project idea and then using the acquired AI skills to bring it to life. The goal was to create projects that could benefit the community.

عقدت كلية إدارة الأعمال ورشة عمل حول الذكاء الاصطناعي

عقدت كلية إدارة الأعمال ورشة عمل لاستخدام أدوات الذكاء الاصطناعي لطلبة وأعضاء هيئة التدريس في قسم ذكاء الأعمال على مدار يومين متتاليين 13 و14 نوفمبر. أدار الورشة أ. أندرو لبيب وأ. بيتر إبراهيم وهما خبيران في تكنولوجيا الذكاء الاصطناعي. وتم تدريب الطلاب على كيفية عمل (Prompt) صحيح وكتابته ليحصلوا على أفضل النتائج من أدوات الذكاء الاصطناعي وتدرب الطلاب على استخدام أكثر من ١٥ أداة من أدوات الذكاء الاصطناعي في مختلف المجالات مثل تحليل البيانات وصناعة المحتوي وغيرها. وفي نهاية الورشة قام المشاركون بعمل مشروع كامل بفكرة عملية ودعمها بالأدوات التي تعلموها خلال الورشة لتطبيق وتنفيذ أفكارهم التي تساعد المجتمع.

2024 Med Safety Week at MIU: Raising Awareness About Drug Safety

The Faculty of Pharmacy at MIU successfully organized the fourth annual Med Safety Week in collaboration with the ISOP-Egypt Chapter. This event took place from November 17 to 21, 2024, and focused on promoting awareness of pharmacovigilance, which includes the monitoring and management of adverse drug reactions.

Activities were conducted on MIU campus and concluded with an outreach event at NeuroSpine Hospital on November 21. The campaign engaged outpatient clinic physicians, nurses and administrative personnel.

This annual initiative reflects our commitment to advancing safe practices in healthcare.

أسبوع السلامة الدوائية 2024 في كلية الصيدلة بجامعة مصر الدولية

نظمت كلية الصيدلة بجامعة مصر الدولية أسبوع السلامة الدوائية للعام الرابع على التوالي بالتعاون مع فرع الجمعية الدولية لليقظة الدوائية (ISOP) في مصر.
أقيمت الفعاليات في حرم الجامعة خلال الفترة من 17 إلى 21 نوفمبر 2024 واختُتمت بحملة توعوية في مستشفى نيوروسباين يوم 21 نوفمبر. استهدفت الحملة موظفي العيادات الخارجية والأطباء والممرضين والإداريين حيث قدمت لهم معلومات مهمة عن سلامة الأدوية والإبلاغ عن التفاعلات الدوائية الضارة.
يعكس هذا النشاط السنوي حرصنا على تعزيز الوعي بممارسات السلامة في الرعاية الصحية.

Al-Alsun Students Visit “Forever is Now” Art Exhibition at Giza Pyramids

Students from the Computer-Assisted Translation course visited the “Forever is Now” contemporary art exhibition held at the Giza Pyramids with the aim of creating a “Bilingual Digital Guide”, enhancing their copywriting and translation skills.

Students explored the artwork and installations, documenting the trip through photos and interviews with both artists and curators. This offered them a unique opportunity to admire the blend of ancient history and modern art and gain a deeper understanding of the cultural significance of the Pyramids of Giza.

قام طلاب مقرر “الترجمة بمساعدة الكمبيوتر” بزيارة معرض الفن المعاصر الذي أقيم في أهرامات الجيزة بهدف كتابة دليل رقمي باللغة العربية والإنجليزية لتعزيز مهاراتهم في كتابة النصوص والترجمة.
استكشف الطلاب الأعمال الفنية في المعرض وقاموا بتوثيق الرحلة من خلال الصور والمقابلات مع الفنانين. وقد أتاح لهم ذلك فرصة لاكتساب فهم أعمق للأهمية الثقافية لأهرامات الجيزة.

Freshman I Students Cinema Trip

The English Language Program at MIU organized a trip for Freshman I students to watch the critically acclaimed movie, “The Wild Robot,” at Point 90 Cinema. To enhance their critical thinking skills, students engaged in a post-movie discussion to analyze the film’s themes, characters and narrative techniques. This analysis serves as a foundation for their upcoming essay writing assignment.

Al-Alsun Students Step into Ibsen’s World Through Augmented Reality (AR)

Through the integration of AR technology, students enrolled in the “Survey of English Literature II” course had the opportunity to explore classic literature in a dynamic and interactive way. Using the innovative game Play the Knave, students took on the roles of characters from Henrik Ibsen’s A Doll’s House and performed key scenes through animated avatars, bringing the play’s dramatic moments to life.

By choosing their own avatars and performing scenes, students were able to creatively embody the characters and explore the themes of the play in a modern and technologically enhanced setting.

من خلال دمج تقنية الواقع المعزز أتيحت للطلاب المسجلين في مقرر “دراسة الأدب الإنجليزي 2” الفرصة لاستكشاف الأدب الكلاسيكي بطريقة تفاعلية. باستخدام اللعبة المبتكرة Play the Knave تولى الطلاب أدوار شخصيات من مسرحية A Doll’s House لهنريك إبسن وقاموا بتمثيل المشاهد الرئيسية في المسرحية.
ومن خلال اختيار استخدام تكنولوجيا الواقع المعزز تمكن الطلاب من تجسيد الشخصيات بشكل إبداعي واستكشاف موضوعات المسرحية بطريقة عصرية.

Faculty of Business Administration held a qualitative market research workshop

The Marketing Department at the Faculty of Business Administration hosted a workshop on qualitative market research, led by Ms. Hana El -Khawanky, Marketing manager at TBS. The workshop, held on November 17th, provided Marketing major students with the chance to delve deep into the challenges facing TBS by conducting real-world research. Through focus groups and in-depth interviews, they gained valuable insights into the company’s needs. By applying their knowledge and skills, students developed innovative strategies and recommendations to help TBS thrive in the future. Over 90% of participants expressed satisfaction with the workshop, highlighting its effectiveness in enhancing students’ practical skills and knowledge.

استضاف قسم التسويق بكلية إدارة الأعمال ورشة عمل حول أبحاث السوق النوعية، بقيادة الأستاذة هناء الخوانكي، مدير التسويق في TBS. أتاحت ورشة العمل، التي عقدت في 17 نوفمبر، لطلاب قسم التسويق الفرصة للتعمق في التحديات التي تواجه TBS من خلال إجراء أبحاث على أرض الواقع. ومن خلال مجموعات التركيز والمقابلات المتعمقة، اكتسبوا رؤى قيمة حول احتياجات الشركة. ومن خلال تطبيق معارفهم ومهاراتهم، طور الطلاب استراتيجيات وتوصيات مبتكرة لمساعدة TBS على الازدهار في المستقبل. وأعرب أكثر من 90% من المشاركين عن رضاهم عن ورشة العمل، وأبرزوا فعاليتها في تعزيز المهارات والمعرفة العملية لدى الطلاب.

MIU’s Faculty of Pharmacy Partners with Education First Foundation to Advance Technical Education

Misr International University’s Faculty of Pharmacy and Education First Foundation have collaborated to elevate technical and applied technological education in Egypt. A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed on November 12, 2024, by Dr. Salma El-Bakry, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of Education First Foundation and Prof. Dr. Samy Emara, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at MIU.

This strategic partnership aims to enhance the scientific curricula of the Bank Misr School of Applied Technology and Pharmaceutical Industries, under the supervision of Education First Foundation. Using MIU’s academic expertise, the collaboration aims to promote a higher standard of learning within Egypt’s applied technology sector.

تعاونت كلية الصيدلة بجامعة مصر الدولية ومؤسسة التعليم أولاً للارتقاء بالتعليم الفني والتكنولوجيا التطبيقية في مصر. تم توقيع مذكرة تفاهم في 12 نوفمبر 2024 من قبل الدكتورة سلمى البكري رئيس مجلس أمناء مؤسسة التعليم أولًا والأستاذ الدكتور سامي عمارة عميد كلية الصيدلة بجامعة مصر الدولية.
