MIU Pharmacy and DIMAS Unite for a Successful Blood Donation Campaign

The Faculty of Pharmacy at Misr International University, in collaboration with the DIMAS student activity, successfully organized a two-day blood donation campaign on November 25th and 26th, 2024. The event, overseen by healthcare professionals from the Ministry of Health and Population, aimed to encourage community members to donate blood and save lives.

DIMAS students played a crucial role in raising awareness about the importance of blood donation and provided valuable information on blood types and anemia through an accompanying educational initiative.

The campaign was a resounding success, with 177 donors from students, faculty and staff generously donating blood. We extend our sincere gratitude to all participants, including those who were unable to donate due to medical reasons. Your dedication to helping others is a testament to the strong sense of community spirit at MIU.

حملة ناجحة للتبرع بالدم بتنظيم كلية الصيدلة وDIMAS

نظمت كلية الصيدلة بجامعة مصر الدولية بالتعاون مع النشاط الطلابي DIMAS حملة للتبرع بالدم على مدار يومي 25 و26 نوفمبر 2024. وقد هدفت هذه الفعالية التي أشرف عليها متخصصون في الرعاية الصحية من وزارة الصحة والسكان إلى التشجيع على التبرع بالدم وإنقاذ الأرواح.
ولعب طلاب DIMAS دورًا حاسمًا في رفع مستوى الوعي حول أهمية التبرع بالدم وقدموا معلومات قيمة عن أنواع الدم المختلفة والأنيميا من خلال مبادرة توعوية مصاحبة للحملة.
وقد حققت الحملة نجاحًا باهرًا حيث تبرع 177 شخصًا من الطلاب وأعضاء هيئة التدريس والموظفين بالدم. ونتقدم بخالص امتناننا لجميع المشاركين بما في ذلك أولئك الذين لم يتمكنوا من التبرع لأسباب طبية.

Pharmacy Third-Year Students Visit ACDIMA International Pharmaceutical Factory

On Wednesday November 27, 2024, the Pharmaceutical Technology Department organized an educational visit for 22 third-year students to ACDIMA International Factory, a renowned manufacturing facility.

The visit started with an informative orientation session, introducing students to the factory’s products and safety protocols. This was followed by a guided tour of the production area, where students observed the complete manufacturing processes for various dosage forms.

The experience provided invaluable practical knowledge, enriching their academic studies and preparing them for future careers in the industry.

زيارة طلاب السنة الثالثة بكلية الصيدلة إلى مصنع أكاديميا الدولي للأدوية

في يوم الأربعاء الموافق 27 نوفمبر 2024 نظم قسم تكنولوجيا الصيدلة زيارة تعليمية لاثنين وعشرين طالبًا من السنة الثالثة إلى مصنع أكاديميا الدولي وهو منشأة تصنيع مرموقة.
بدأت الزيارة بجلسة تعريفية للطلاب بمنتجات المصنع وبروتوكولات السلامة وبعد ذلك ذهبوا في جولة في منطقة الإنتاج حيث شاهدوا عمليات التصنيع الكاملة لأشكال الجرعات المختلفة.
وقد وفرت هذه التجربة للطلاب معرفة عملية تثري دراساتهم الأكاديمية وتعدهم للمهن المستقبلية في هذا المجال.

Al-Alsun Students Engage in Linguistics Research with Professor Ola Hafez

On Monday, the 2nd of December, Al-Alsun Department had the pleasure of hosting Ola Hafez, Professor of Linguistics, Faculty of Arts, Cairo University.

Professor Hafez shared insights into the findings of her research entitled “Moving Discourse: Egyptian Bumper Stickers as a Communicative Event”.  This sparked an interactive discussion with Al-Alsun students who were eager to apply the theoretical and practical knowledge they gained from their Discourse Analysis course.

The success of the event highlights Al-Alsun’s Department commitment to invite renowned professors to further enrich the knowledge of our students.

محاضرة د. علا حافظ لطلاب الألسن

استضاف قسم الألسن يوم الاثنين الموافق 2 ديسمبر أ.د. علا حافظ أستاذ اللغويات بكلية الآداب جامعة القاهرة.
تحدثت د. علا حافظ عن بحثها بعنوان ” Moving Discourse: Egyptian Bumper Stickers as a Communicative Event”. وقد أثار هذا مناقشة تفاعلية مع طلاب الألسن الذين كانوا حريصين على تطبيق المعرفة النظرية والعملية التي اكتسبوها في مقرر تحليل الخطاب.
يسلط نجاح هذا الحدث الضوء على التزام قسم الألسن بدعوة الأساتذة المرموقين لإثراء معرفة طلابنا.

Enhancing Sociolinguistic Understanding Through Film Analysis

On November 25, 2024, a group of 65 Alsun students enrolled in the Sociolinguistics course went on a trip to Al Obour Cinema to see the Arabic film “The Ex of My Wife.”

Prior to the trip, students were instructed to observe and analyze sociolinguistic aspects of language use in the film. Following the movie, they participated in group presentations, sharing their insights and analyses with their classmates. The trip provided a valuable opportunity for the practical application of sociolinguistic concepts.

رحلة طلاب مقرر علم اللغويات الاجتماعي للسينما

في 25 نوفمبر 2024 ذهبت مجموعة مكونة من 65 طالبًا من طلاب الألسن المسجلين في مقرر علم اللغة الاجتماعي في رحلة إلى سينما العبور لمشاهدة الفيلم العربي “إكس مراتي”.
قبل الرحلة تم توجيه الطلاب إلى مراقبة وتحليل الجوانب المختلفة لاستخدام اللغة داخل الفيلم. وبعد الفيلم شاركوا في عروض تقديمية جماعية وتبادلوا أفكارهم وتحليلاتهم مع زملائهم في الفصل. أتاحت الرحلة فرصة للطلاب للتطبيق العملي للمفاهيم اللغوية الاجتماعية.

في 26 نوفمبر 2024 تم تنظيم ورشة عمل بعنوان “القيادة: رحلة لا نهاية لها” قدمها أ. د. ناصر الشريف، عميد الجامعة اللبنانية الأميركية. زودت ورشة العمل أعضاء هيئة التدريس باستراتيجيات القيادة العملية والتوجيه لتعزيز الابتكار والتعاون مما يسلط الضوء على التزام جامعة مصر الدولية بتوفير بيئة ديناميكية وداعمة تعزز التميز.

Enhancing Clinical Expertise in Anticoagulant and Antiplatelet Therapy

On November 28, 2024, the Faculty of Pharmacy Development, Awareness and Training Committee hosted a staff development seminar on anticoagulant and antiplatelet therapy. Led by Dr. Hazem Elewa, Associate Professor and PharmD Program Director at Qatar University, the seminar provided Faculty members and teaching assistants with insights into launching a pharmacist-led anticoagulant clinic, including its requirements, challenges and significance. Participants also learned about tailoring oral anticoagulants, managing complications and making rational decisions regarding antiplatelet use.

تعزيز الخبرة السريرية في العلاج بمضادات التخثر ومضادات الصفائح الدموية

في 28 نوفمبر 2024 نظمت لجنة تطوير الوعي والتدريب بكلية الصيدلة ندوة لتطوير قدرات أعضاء هيئة التدريس حول العلاج بمضادات التخثر والعلاج بمضادات الصفائح الدموية. وقدمت الندوة التي أدارها الدكتور حازم علوي، أستاذ مشارك ومدير برنامج دكتور الصيدلة بكلية الصيدلة في جامعة قطر، معلومات قيّمة حول دور الدكتور علوي في إطلاق أول عيادة يديرها صيادلة لمضادات التخثر في قطر، بما في ذلك أهميتها ومتطلباتها والعقبات التي قد تواجهها.
تحدث د. علوي أيضًا عن كيفية تخصيص مضادات التخثر الفموية حسب حالة كل مريض وإدارة المضاعفات واتخاذ قرارات منطقية بشأن استخدام مضادات الصفائح الدموية.

FAE 00 Trip to Abdeen Palace

On Wednesday 27/11/2024, a group of 30 students enrolled in the Fundamentals of Academic English course (FAE 00) went on an educational trip to Abdeen Palace in Cairo. The students explored the luxurious interiors of the palace, including its grand reception halls, exquisite furniture, collection of historical artifacts and museum which houses rare historical objects.

The trip gave the students an opportunity to get to know Egypt’s cultural heritage while enjoying a day out of the classroom. The students were later required to reflect on the experience, describing their visit both orally and in writing as part of their coursework.

رحلة مقرر FAE 00 إلى قصر عابدين

في يوم الأربعاء الموافق 27/11/2024 قامت مجموعة مكونة من 30 طالبًا مسجلين في مقرر أساسيات اللغة الإنجليزية الأكاديمية (FAE 00) برحلة تعليمية إلى قصر عابدين بالقاهرة. واطلع الطلاب على التصميم الداخلي الفاخر للقصر بما في ذلك قاعات الاستقبال الكبرى والأثاث الرائع ومجموعة التحف التاريخية والمتحف الذي يضم مقتنيات تاريخية نادرة.

أتاحت الرحلة للطلاب فرصة التعرف على التراث الثقافي لمصر أثناء الاستمتاع بيوم خارج الفصل الدراسي. طُلب من الطلاب لاحقًا وصف زيارتهم شفهيًا وكتابيًا كجزء من متطلبات المقرر.

Prof. Nasser Al-Sharif’s Visit at MIU

The Faculty of Pharmacy at Misr International University (MIU) hosted Prof. Nasser Al-Sharif from the Lebanese American University for a visit from November 17 to November 27, 2024. 

During his stay, Prof. Al-Sharif engaged fourth-year undergraduate students in a series of interactive lectures and discussions, emphasizing new perspectives on contemporary medicinal challenges and advanced pharmaceutical concepts. 

He also participated in departmental meetings, sharing valuable insights that support MIU’s mission to continually enhance academic standards. 

This visit reflects the Faculty of Pharmacy’s dedication to providing its students with enriching learning experiences and building strong collaborations with global academic leaders. 

زيارة أ. د. ناصر الشريف لجامعة مصر الدولية

استضافت كلية الصيدلة بجامعة مصر الدولية أ.د. ناصر الشريف من الجامعة اللبنانية الأمريكية في زيارة من 17 إلى 27 نوفمبر 2024.
قدم أ.د. ناصر الشريف محاضرات ونقاشات تفاعلية لطلاب السنة الرابعة مما أتاح لهم اكتساب رؤى جديدة حول التحديات الطبية الحديثة وتعميق فهمهم للمفاهيم الصيدلية المتقدمة.
كما شارك في اجتماعات الأقسام الأكاديمية حيث قدم رؤى قيمة تدعم مهمة جامعة مصر الدولية في تعزيز المعايير الأكاديمية باستمرار.
تعكس هذه الزيارة التزام كلية الصيدلة بتقديم تجارب تعليمية غنية لطلابها وتعزيز التعاون مع القادة الأكاديميين العالميين.

FAE 01 Trip to the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization

On Wednesday and Thursday 20-21/11/2024, two educational trips to the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization were organized for about 240 students enrolled in the Fundamentals of Academic English I (FAE 01) course.

The purpose of the visit was to provide the students with a learning experience about Egyptian history and culture, which they were required to describe in both oral and written forms in their classes the following week. Throughout the visit, the students were encouraged to use English in asking questions and discussing the exhibits with their teachers and peers, improving their language skills and cultural awareness.

رحلة مقرر FAE 01 إلى المتحف القومي للحضارة المصرية

في يومي الأربعاء والخميس الموافق 20-21/11/2024 تم تنظيم رحلتين تعليميتين إلى المتحف القومي للحضارة المصرية لـ240 طالبًا مسجلين في مقرر أساسيات اللغة الإنجليزية الأكاديمية I (FAE 01).

كان الغرض من الزيارة هو تزويد الطلاب بتجربة تعليمية حول التاريخ والثقافة المصرية والتي طُلب منهم وصفها شفهيًا وكتابيًا في المحاضرات في الأسبوع التالي. وأثناء الزيارة تم تشجيع الطلاب على استخدام اللغة الإنجليزية في طرح الأسئلة ومناقشة المعروضات مع معلميهم وزملائهم مما أدى إلى تحسين مهاراتهم اللغوية ووعيهم الثقافي.

Students of Al-Alsun & Mass Communication Participate in a Community Service Visit to Al-Nas Hospital

The Faculty of Al-Alsun & Mass Communication Community Service Sector organized a visit to Al-Nas Children’s Charitable Hospital in Shubra El-Kheima on Monday, November 25, 2024.

The faculty members and students were welcomed by Amr Saad, the hospital’s Communication Manager who shared insights into the hospital’s history and its commitment to providing free treatment for children with congenital heart defects and digestive system diseases. During the visit, students toured the hospital, learned about its mission and distributed toys and stationery to the children. Two students generously donated blood, demonstrating a strong commitment to helping others.

This initiative aligns with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goal of ensuring good health and well-being for all. By participating in this community service activity, students gained valuable experiences and developed a deeper sense of empathy and social responsibility.

طلاب الألسن والإعلام يشاركون في زيارة لمستشفى الناس

نظم قطاع خدمة المجتمع بكلية الألسن والإعلام زيارة لمستشفى الناس الخيري للأطفال بشبرا الخيمة يوم الإثنين 25 نوفمبر 2024.
وكان في استقبال أعضاء هيئة التدريس والطلاب عمرو سعد مدير الاتصالات بالمستشفى الذي تحدث عن تاريخ المستشفى والتزامها بتوفير العلاج المجاني للأطفال الذين يعانون من عيوب خلقية في القلب وأمراض الجهاز الهضمي. وخلال الزيارة قام الطلاب بجولة في المستشفى وتعرفوا على رسالتها وقاموا بتوزيع الألعاب على الأطفال. وقد تبرعت طالبتان بالدم مما يدل على التزامهما القوي بمساعدة الآخرين.
تتماشى هذه المبادرة المجتمعية مع الهدف الثالث من أهداف التنمية المستدامة للأمم المتحدة المتمثل في ضمان الصحة الجيدة والرفاهية للجميع. ومن خلال المشاركة في هذه الزيارة اكتسب الطلاب خبرات قيمة ونما لديهم الشعور بالمسؤولية المجتمعية تجاه الآخرين.
