Al-Alsun students enrolled in the Postmodern Literature course used VR Oculus headsets which allowed them to interact with avatars to explore complex concepts like disorientation and relative reality through questions. This engaging method simplified theories and boosted participation, creating a lively and memorable lecture, reflecting the Department’s commitment to dynamic technology integration in education.

استخدم طلاب الألسن المسجلون في مقرر أدب ما بعد الحداثة نظارات الواقع الافتراضي التي أتاحت لهم التفاعل مع شخصيات رمزية لاستكشاف مفاهيم ما بعد الحداثة. وقد بسّطت هذه الطريقة التفاعلية النظريات وعززت المشاركة مما خلق محاضرة حيوية وهو ما يعكس التزام القسم بدمج التكنولوجيا في التعليم.

Al-Alsun Students enrolled in the Postmodern Literature course visited the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NMEC) to explore ancient Egyptian identities. Through examining pharaonic artifacts, they applied postmodern concepts, questioning fixed identities and using deconstruction. This hands-on experience allowed them to compare ancient and postmodern identities and reflect on their perspectives within their course.

Al-Alsun Department and iTranslate Group partnered to deliver two workshops in legal translation, equipping 48 third and fourth-year students with hands-on translation and localization expertise.

 To celebrate the success of these training workshops, iTranslate CEO Mohamed Mahmoud visited MIU to present the attending students with certificates and share with them career guidance.

These training workshops reflect the Department’s commitment to empowering its students with the confidence and technical knowledge required to succeed in their careers.

احتفاءً بنجاح هاتين الورشتين التدريبيتين زار الرئيس التنفيذي لشركة iTranslate السيد محمد محمود جامعة مصر الدولية لتقديم شهادات للطلاب المشاركين في التدريب.

On Sunday, May 11, 2025, students from Al-Alsun Department enjoyed an engaging and educational experience at the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization as part of Introduction to Conference Interpretation coursework.

During the trip, the students collected specialized terminology related to Egypt’s history and cultural heritage. They also photographed exhibit labels in both Arabic and English to evaluate the quality of the translations in terms of accuracy, clarity, and cultural appropriateness. The students toured the museum’s halls and expressed their pride in Egypt’s rich historical achievements.

The trip provided a valuable opportunity to connect classroom learning with real-world cultural and linguistic experiences.

زيارة طلاب الألسن للمتحف القومي للحضارة المصرية

زار طلاب مقرر “مدخل إلى ترجمة المؤتمرات” المتحف القومي للحضارة المصرية في يوم الأحد الموافق 11 مايو 2025.
وقاموا خلال الرحلة بجمع مصطلحات متخصصة تتعلق بتاريخ مصر وتراثها الثقافي، كما التقطوا صورًا لبطاقات الشرح الخاصة بالمعروضات باللغتين العربية والإنجليزية وذلك لتقييم جودة الترجمة من حيث الدقة والوضوح والملاءمة الثقافية. وقد قام الطلاب بجولة في قاعات المتحف وأعربوا عن فخرهم بالإنجازات التاريخية العظيمة لمصر.
وقد شكلت هذه الزيارة فرصة قيّمة لربط ما يتعلمه الطلاب في قاعات الدراسة بالخبرات اللغوية والثقافية في الواقع العملي.

On April 28, 2025, Al-Alsun department hosted a session led by alumna Rawan Nazmy, an expert in AI-integrated digital education. First-hand experience introduced students to applied AI, showcasing tools like ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Gradescope and DeepL. The session highlighted AI’s transformative impact on study methods and research by automating presentations, summaries, translations and revisions.

في 28 أبريل 2025 استضاف قسم الألسن ندوة قدمتها الخريجة روان نظمي وهي خبيرة في دمج الذكاء الاصطناعي في التعليم الرقمي. تناولت الندوة مقدمة عن الذكاء الاصطناعي التطبيقي وعرضت أدوات مثل ChatGPT ومايكروسوفت كوبايلوت وجريدسكوب وديب إل. سلطت الجلسة الضوء على التأثير التحويلي للذكاء الاصطناعي على طرق الدراسة والبحث العلمي.

At the MIU conference “AI for a Sustainable Future: Advancing the UNSDGs” on May 5, 2025, Al-Alsun Department held a workshop on AI tools for enhancing English and Arabic language skills. Moderated by Dr. Sama Dawood and Translation and New Technologies MA Program candidates Sandy Saleeb, Rawan El Hefny and Habiba Amr, the session showcased AI’s practical uses for language development and cultural preservation for researchers and students.

قسم الألسن يستضيف ورشة عمل حول تعلم اللغة المدعوم بالذكاء الاصطناعي في مؤتمر جامعة مصر الدولية

في مؤتمر جامعة مصر الدولية “الذكاء الاصطناعي من أجل مستقبل مستدام: تعزيز أهداف الأمم المتحدة للتنمية المستدامة” الذي عقد في 5 مايو 2025 أقام قسم الألسن ورشة عمل حول أدوات الذكاء الاصطناعي لتعزيز مهارات اللغة الإنجليزية والعربية. أدارت الورشة الدكتورة سما داوود وطالبات برنامج ماجستير الترجمة والتكنولوجيا الحديثة ساندي صليب وروان الحفني وحبيبة عمرو وعرضت ورشة العمل الاستخدامات العملية للذكاء الاصطناعي في تطوير اللغة والحفاظ على التراث الثقافي للباحثين والطلاب.

First-year Al-Alsun students in their Phonetics in Practice course used Virtual Reality (VR) headsets for an interactive speech game with an avatar. This boosted pronunciation and communication by providing real-time feedback for improvement, making practice dynamic and effective.
