“From Line to Design” … Before you enter Architecture School

About the course:

For high-schoolers (ages 15-18), who are thriving to find their passion.

Objective:

• Helps you explore your talents and develops your skills.
• Orient high-schoolers before applying to architecture schools through an introductory course to architecture and design.

Intended Learning Outcomes (ILO’s):

• Develop imaginative and imaging skills.
• Provide a theoretical review about architecture as a discipline.
• Identify famous architects and buildings.
• Endorse freehand sketching and drawing abilities.
• Practice one-point and two-point perspective.
• Exercise the effect of shade and shadow on forms.
• Experience the human scale and its proportions.
• Practice basic architecture drawings.

Requirements for the Workshop:

1. One Canson sketch sheets A4 (224gm)
2. One ruler
3. Three pencils (2H-HB-2B) one of each
4. One rubber
5. One sharpener
6. Acrylic colors (red- blue-yellow-white- black) one of each
7. Three brushes (different sizes) one of each
8. One color palette
9. Pencil colors
10. Architecture markers
11. Three Uniball pens (0.3-0.5-0.9 or 1.0) one of each
12.  One glue stick
13. A4 colored sheets (for portfolio according to personal preferences)
14. Markers for text
15. A3 sheets (180 gm)- black or white for portfolio, according to personal preferences
16. One cutter
17. One pair of scissors
