Eleven Years of Success: MIU Pharmacy Students Win Awards at Dubai International Pharmaceutical Conference (DUPHAT’24)

The Faculty of Pharmacy at Misr International University (MIU) is thrilled to announce an outstanding achievement by its Pharmacy students at the 29th Dubai International Pharmaceutical and Technologies Conference and Exhibition – DUPHAT (DUPHAT’24).

For the eleventh year in a row, MIU Pharmacy students won prestigious awards as they received the fourth Best Creative Pharmacy Poster award and the fifth Best Innovative Pharmacy Poster award.

The Conference, held from January 9th to January 11th 2024 at the World Trade Centre, Dubai, UAE, was attended by 21 students representing the Faculty. Under the expert guidance of distinguished staff members, the students had the invaluable opportunity to present their work before judges, chairpersons, staff members, and supervisors from other prestigious universities.

The Microbiology team, led by Prof. Dr. Mervat El Borhamy, Dr. Khaled Samir, Dr. Heba Magdy, and Dr. Noha Kamel, demonstrated exceptional skills and knowledge. They earned the fourth Best Creative Pharmacy Poster award for their work titled “Assessment of the Knowledge and Attitudes of Misr International University Students towards Smoking with Special Emphasis on Second-hand Smoke.” Congratulations to students Roaa Abdelmajeed, Sandy Morad, and Mariam Ayman for their outstanding contribution to this accomplishment.

Similarly, the Analytical Chemistry team, under the guidance of Dr. Rasha Mahmoud and Dr. Noha Ibrahim, showcased their innovation and excellence. Students Rana Abdelrahman, Hana Tarek, Asser Gamal, and Adham Mohamed secured the fifth Best Innovative Pharmacy Poster award for their remarkable poster titled “Greenness Assessment of Chromatographic Method of Quantification of some Antibiotic Residues in Industrial Wastewater Samples.”

The Faculty of Pharmacy congratulates both teams on their exceptional achievements, which further strengthen the university’s status as a center of excellence in pharmaceutical teaching and research. The faculty looks forward to more successes and breakthroughs from its talented students in the future.
