18 May 2023The MIU Faculty of Pharmacy is proud of its academic partnership with the Faculty of Pharmacy, Cairo University, in the proceedings of the FOPCU 11th International Scientific Conference and 16th Employment Fair. This highly anticipated event was held at the Conrad Hotel in Cairo on the 14th and 15th of May 2023 under the patronage of the Ministry of Health and Population and the Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA).
The conference centered around the vital theme of enhancing pharmaceutical care within the Egyptian healthcare system, aligning with the Egyptian Health Care Vision 2030. It delved into crucial aspects at the educational, industrial, and practical levels, exploring innovative tools and strategies. Representing our faculty were two distinguished figures: Professor Mona Schalaan, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, and Head of the Office of Pharmacy Experiential Training, along with Assistant Professor Hekmat El Magdoub, Director of International Accreditation and acting Vice Dean for Environmental Affairs and Community Service.
Both experts actively contributed to two engaging discussion panels, namely “Next Generation Pharmacy Education, towards Interprofessional Practice” and “A Targeted and Unified Approach to International Collaboration: New Strategies for International Degrees.” These panels shed light on the paramount significance of interprofessional education and the profound impact of international collaborations. Our faculty’s expertise in pursuing international accreditation by the Accreditation Council of Pharmacy Education (ACPE) was also highlighted, further reinforcing our commitment to excellence in pharmaceutical education.
