Faculty of Al Alsun and Mass Communication Raises Awareness of Sustainable Water Consumption among Primary School Children!
12 Mar 2020In its efforts to raise awareness of sustainable water consumption among kids, the Faculty of Al Alsun and Mass Communication made a visit to Mogama’a Alexandria primary school in Al Salam City on March 6, 2020. The visit was organized by the Faculty of Al Alsun and Mass Communication and Misr Foundation for Health and Sustainable Development with the objective of educating children about water issues and taking action to conserve water. This is in line with the Faculty’s support of Egypt Vision 2030, which reflects the country’s long-term strategic plan to achieve sustainable development principles in all areas.
Prof. Hanan Kilany, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environment Development, gave a talk on the importance of saving water and improving water use efficiency to ensure sustainability. Dr. Enjy Farouk, Associate Professor in the Department of Al Alsun, led a workshop for the school’s English teachers on how to use educational materials about water conservation. Aya El Shazly, a Mass Communication teaching assistant gave a short presentation on water scarcity as one of the world’s most pressing environmental issues and Egypt’s efforts for water conservation. At the end of the visit, water awareness sign boards and short stories in English, prepared by Al Alsun and Mass Communication students were presented to the school library.
