As part of the national and global efforts to eliminate hepatitis, Infection Prevention and Control department in collaboration with Community Services and Professional Development departments organized three interactive sessions on 14th, 23rd and 28th of August 2107 for teaching assistants, clinicians, nursing staff, specialized dental clinics administrative officers, radiology technicians and environmental service personnel. The main goal of these sessions was to raise awareness about blood-borne hepatitis viruses (HAV, HBV, HCV, HDV) including epidemiological & clinical characteristics, modes of transmission, diagnostic approaches, exposure risk among health care personnel and preventive strategies. The session also highlighted the national efforts to treat hepatitis C infected patients, particularly screening methods and new treatment modalities.
