Dentistry visits El Yakeen Elderly Home Care

The Community Service and Environmental Affairs Committee of the Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine organized a field trip to El Yakeen Elderly Home Care on Wednesday, April 3, 2024. A group of dental interns and staff members from the faculty joined the trip to support the residents and caregivers.
The purpose of the visit was to raise awareness among residents, employees, and caregivers about dental health and improving oral care for the elderly residents.
During the visit, interns demonstrated proper tooth brushing techniques and discussed the importance of dentures for replacing missing teeth. They also provided recommendations for denture care. Throughout the visit, interns engaged with the elders, answering their questions about oral and dental health and taking photos with them.
Twenty-four toothbrushes and toothpastes were distributed to residents and caregivers, and food items were provided to the elderly home care facility upon request. Additionally, residents were offered free treatment at the MIU Dental Clinic Complex, with free transportation to and from the home.
Questionnaires were distributed to employees and caregivers to assess their dental health needs and evaluate the program provided. Another questionnaire was distributed to interns and staff members participating in the visit to evaluate its outcome.

زيارة ميدانية إلى دار اليقين لرعاية المسنين بالعبور

نظمت لجنة خدمة المجتمع وتنمية البيئة بكلية طب الفم والأسنان زيارة ميدانية إلى دار اليقين لرعاية المسنين بالعبور يوم الأربعاء الموافق 3 أبريل 2024 وشملت الزيارة مجموعة من أطباء الامتياز وأعضاء هيئة التدريس بالكلية.

وكان الهدف من الزيارة توعية المقيمين والموظفين ومقدمي الرعاية فيما يتعلق بصحة الفم والأسنان وكيفية تحسين الرعاية الصحية للفم للمسنين.

وقد عرض أطباء الامتياز خلال الزيارة التقنية المناسبة لتنظيف الأسنان بالإضافة إلى ضرورة تعويض الأسنان المفقودة من خلال تركيب أطقم الأسنان والطرق الموصى بها للعناية بهذه الأطقم .

وطرح المسنون جميع أسئلتهم المتعلقة بصحة الفم والأسنان وتم توزيع 24 فرشاة ومعجون أسنان على النزلاء ومقدمي الرعاية.

وتم إعلام إدارة الدار بإمكانية الكشف والعلاج بالمجان في مجمع عيادات الأسنان بالجامعة بالإضافة تقدم الكلية خدمة التوصيل من وإلى الدار لجميع المرضى.

وتم توزيع استبيانات على الموظفين ومقدمي الرعاية لتحديد احتياجاتهم من صحة الأسنان وتقييم البرنامج المقدم وقياس مدى رضاهم عن الزيارة. كما تم توزيع استبيان آخر على أطباء الامتياز والمشاركين فى الزيارة لتقييمها.
