Faculty of Dentistry Collaborates with Operation Smile Egypt to Support Children’s Oral Health

The Community Service and Environmental Affairs Committee welcomed a dental and oral health awareness mission in collaboration with Operation Smile Egypt at the MIU Dental Clinic Complex. This mission aligns with the faculty’s commitment to serving surrounding and nearby residential communities, while providing specialized care to promote children’s oral and dental health. The mission was conducted over two days, Sunday, December 21, and Monday, December 22.

The convoy was received by the Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Affairs at the Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine, along with members of the committee. During the mission, a total of 23 children aged 3 to 14 years received dental treatment. Dental care was provided in the Pedodontics clinics, where interns performed the required procedures under the direct supervision of faculty members from the Pedodontics Department.

In addition, the team carried out an oral and dental health awareness campaign, during which 60 toothbrushes and toothpaste sets were distributed to the participating children.

This mission offered a valuable educational and social experience, enhancing the interns’ clinical skills while delivering essential dental care to children in need. It reflects the committee’s ongoing commitment to integrating academic excellence with meaningful community service.

A satisfaction survey conducted among patients and participants indicated a 100% satisfaction rate.

استقبال كلية طب الفم والأسنان لقافلة مؤسسة عملية الابتسامة – مصر بمجمع العيادات بالجامعة

قامت إدارة خدمة المجتمع وتنمية البيئة بكلية طب الفم والأسنان بالترحيب بقافلة علاجية وتوعوية بالتعاون مع مؤسسة عملية الابتسامة – مصر (Operation Smile Egypt) داخل مجمع العيادات بالكلية ،وذلك في إطار حرص كلية طب الفم والأسنان على تقديم خدمات مجتمعية في محيط الجامعة الجغرافي

والمناطق السكنية المحيطة وتوفير الرعاية المتخصصة للحفاظ على صحة الفم والأسنان للأطفال، وقد تم استقبال القافلة بالكلية على مدار يومين وهم الأحد 21، الاتنين 22،من شهر ديسمبر 2025.

كان في استقبال القافلة السيد الأستاذ الدكتور وكيل الكلية لخدمة المجتمع وتنمية البيئة و أعضاء لجنة خدمة المجتمع و تنمية البيئة. وقد تم استقبال عدد 23 طفل (من الفئة العمرية من 3- 14 سنة) على مدار أيام الزيارة ممن يحتاجون إلى علاج الفم والأسنان، وقد تولى أطباء الامتياز بإشراف مباشر من أعضاء هيئة التدريس بقسم طب أسنان الأطفال إجراء التشخيص وكذلك خطوات العلاج المطلوبة وعمل حملة التوعية بصحة الفم والأسنان

كما تم توزيع عدد 60 فرشاة ومعجون أسنان ضمن حملة التوعية بصحة الفم والأسنان وكذلك.

وقد كانت هذه الزيارة فرصة تعليمية و اجتماعية ساهمت في تنمية المهارات الإكلينيكية لأطباء الامتياز، وتقديم علاج الأسنان اللازم للأطفال المحتاجين، وهو ما يعكس التزام كلاً من الكلية والمؤسسة بالدمج بين التميز الأكاديمي والخدمة المجتمعية.

وقد تم إجراء استبيان لقياس مستوى الرضا العام للمرضى والمشاركين وأوضحت نتائج الاستبيان أن نسبة الرضا وصلت 100%.
