The Department of Al-Alsun offers a four-year program (8 semesters) leading to a Bachelor’s Degree in English.
Total Credit Hours: 40 courses/ 144 credit hours
I. University Requirement Courses: 6 courses/ 18 credit hours
- 4 required courses/ 12 credit hours
- 2 elective courses/ 6 credit hours
II. Faculty Requirement Courses: 2 courses/ 6 credit hours
III. Al-Alsun Department Requirement Courses: 15 courses/ 57 credit hours
IV. The Department offers 2 programs:
Program Requirements: 12 courses/ 48 credit hours
a. Teaching English as a Foreign Language Program:
- 9 required courses/ 39 credit hours
- 3 elective courses/ 9 credit hours
b. Specialized Translation Program:
- 9 required courses/ 39 credit hours
- 3 elective courses/ 9 credit hours
V. Free Elective Courses or Minors: 5 courses/ 15 credit hours

- Minor in TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) for Specialized Translation Program Students

Students must select only one program along with either a minor from the ones mentioned above or 5 free elective courses.
