Faculty of Computer Science – Panel Discussion: “Bridging the Gap – Preparing Students for Careers in AI and Cybersecurity”

As part of the Graduation Projects Expo on June 24, 2025, a dedicated panel discussion titled “Bridging the Gap: Preparing Students for Careers in AI and Cybersecurity” was held. The session focused on aligning academic preparation with the practical demands of the rapidly evolving fields of artificial intelligence and cybersecurity.

The discussion provided students with valuable insights into global industry trends, emerging career paths, and the interdisciplinary skills required for success in both domains.

Distinguished panelists included:

1. Dr. Mohamed AbdelFattah – Regional Subject Matter Expert (OT), Fortinet
2. Eng. Ahmed Saafan – Vice President of Security R&D, Cyshield
3. Dr. Yusuf Hegazy – PhD Researcher in Hardware Security, University of Birmingham, UK
4. Eng. Heba Farahat – Offensive Security Lead Consultant, Liquid C2

Together, the panelists shared professional experiences and practical advice, helping students better understand how to transition from academic study to impactful careers in AI and cybersecurity.

أقيمت خلال المعرض جلسة نقاش بعنوان “سد الفجوة: إعداد الطلاب للمهن في الذكاء الاصطناعي والأمن السيبراني” يوم الثلاثاء 24 يونيو 2025، وهدفت إلى ربط المعرفة الأكاديمية باحتياجات السوق العملية في هذه المجالات المتطورة يوم الثلاثاء 24 يونيو 2025،.أثرت الجلسة الطلاب بأفكار حول المسارات المهنية والتوجهات العالمية والطبيعة التداخلية للنجاح في مجالات الذكاء الاصطناعي والأمن السيبراني.
