Al Alsun Students Visit Mohamed Mahmoud Khalil Art Museum!
14 Dec 2022
Al Alsun students went on a field trip to Mohamed Mahmoud Khalil museum in Dokki on December 7 and 8, 2022. This recently renovated museum houses an impressive collection of paintings by Paul Gauguin, Auguste Renoir, Claude Monet, Johan Jongkind and Charles Francois Daubigny. The museum also exhibits a valuable collection of vases made in France, China, Japan and Iran, and a big collection of elaborately-made miniature works of art by Chinese artists.
The trip was part of the ENG 404 “Literature and the Visual Arts” course, which explores how literature and the visual arts inform one another and challenge the reading/viewing experience. The purpose of the visit was to engage students in the experience of viewing art and to empower them to make meaningful connections to the course concepts. The group was accompanied by the course instructors, Dr. Laila Galal and Dr. Mona Helmy.
