In line with the celebration of the International Day of People with Disabilities, the Community Service and Environment Development Sector of the Faculty of Al-Alsun and Mass Communication held the First Annual Special Needs Handicrafts Exhibition on Wednesday, December 7, 2022.
Three associations for persons with special needs showcased their products: The Right to Live Association, Dar El-Sondons for Orphans with Special Needs, and Friends of Bright Tomorrow Association for Special Needs. The displayed products were made by the special needs trainees in the three associations and included wickerwork, ceramics, carpets, printed textiles, handmade bags, embroidered furnishings, and perfumes.
The aim of the exhibition was to promote the rights and well-being of persons with disabilities in the Egyptian society. To serve the same purpose, the Community Service and Environment Development sector also presented the Friends of Bright Tomorrow Association for Special Needs with canvas, oil and gouache colors, Canson paper and Duku markers to help them participate in the ninth international art festival entitled “My Country, How Beautiful it is,” which will be held at the Egyptian Opera House from February 9-14, 2023.
