A Visit to Modern Educational School (MES)

On Thursday 11^th of May 2023, the Community Service and Environmental Affairs Committee, Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine, organized a field trip for a group of interns and staff members from Restorative Dentistry and Endodontics departments as well as a group from the World Dental Federation (FDI) to Modern Educational School (MES).

The purpose of the visit was to raise the awareness of MES teachers and students regarding dental health. As such, awareness sessions were given by the lecturers and interns, showing the importance of tooth brushing and the proper techniques for oral hygiene. Then, the interns examined all middle school students and teachers and gave each a diagnostic card while the FDI team distributed hundred toothbrushes and toothpastes among them.

Questionnaires were distributed to the teachers to determine their dental health needs and measure their satisfaction with the visit. Another questionnaire was distributed to the interns and staff members participating to evaluate the visit and its outcome.
