A visit to Dar El-Mariem Orphanage

On Tuesday, February 17, 2026, the Community Service and Environmental Affairs Committee at the Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine conducted an outreach visit to Dar El-Mariem Orphanage in Nasr City.

The delegation included the Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Affairs, one member of the committee, two representatives from the Internship Training Administration, and seven male and female interns.

The visit aimed to raise awareness of oral and dental health among both residents and caregivers. The orphanage cares for girls with special needs aged 6 to 24 years.

During the visit, the interns delivered an educational lecture highlighting the importance of proper oral hygiene. They also provided a practical demonstration of correct toothbrushing techniques. In addition, clinical dental examinations were conducted for the residents, who were later invited to continue any necessary treatment at the university’s Dental Clinic Complex.

As part of the campaign, 70 toothbrush and toothpaste kits were distributed to residents, staff, and supervisors during the awareness sessions. This initiative was implemented in partnership with the World Dental Federation (FDI).

To evaluate the program, surveys were conducted among the orphanage staff to identify oral health needs, assess the effectiveness of the activities, and measure overall satisfaction. The results showed a 100% satisfaction rate. A separate feedback survey completed by the participating interns also indicated a 100% satisfaction rate.

فعاليات الزيارة الميدانية الي دار المريم للايتام ذوى الاعاقة

في يوم الثلاثاء الموافق 17 فبراير 2026، نظمت لجنة خدمة المجتمع وتنمية البيئة بكلية طب الفم والأسنان زيارة ميدانية إلى دار المريم للأيتام بمدينة نصر. بحضور كل من وكيل الكلية لشؤون خدمة المجتمع وتنمية البيئة، وعضواً من لجنة خدمة المجتمع وتنمية البيئة، وعدد 2 ممثل من إدارة تدريب الامتياز، بالإضافة إلى 7 من أطباء الامتياز (ذكور وإناث).

هدفت الزيارة إلى نشر الوعي بصحة الفم والأسنان بين نزيلات الدار ومقدمي الرعاية بها. وتقوم الدار برعاية فتيات يتيمات من ذوي الاحتياجات الخاصة تتراوح أعمارهن بين 6 و24 عاماً.

خلال الزيارة، قدم أطباء الامتياز محاضرة توعوية تناولت أهمية الحفاظ على نظافة الفم والأسنان، مع عرض عملي للطريقة الصحيحة لتنظيف الأسنان بالفرشاة. كما تم إجراء فحوصات تشخيصية للحالات، وتم توجيه الدعوة للنزيلات لاستكمال العلاج اللازم بمجمع عيادات طب الأسنان بالجامعة.

وفي إطار الحملة، تم توزيع 70 فرشاة ومعجون أسنان على النزيلات والعاملين والمشرفين خلال الجلسات التوعوية. وقد نُفذت الفعالية بالتعاون مع الاتحاد العالمى لطب الاسنان (FDI).

ولقياس أثر المبادرة، تم توزيع استبيانات على العاملين بالدار لتحديد احتياجات صحة الفم، وتقييم مدى فعالية البرنامج، وقياس مستوى الرضا العام. وأظهرت النتائج نسبة رضا بلغت 100%. كما قام أطباء الامتياز المشاركون باستكمال استبيان تقييم منفصل، وأظهرت نتائجه أيضاً نسبة رضا 100%.
