MIU-Operation Smile: Delivering Happiness, Smiles and Oral Healthcare

Another successful mission was conducted in collaboration with Operation Smile Egypt at the Dental Clinic Complex of the Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine. Under the leadership of the Community Service and Environmental Affairs Committee, along with faculty members from the Pedodontics Department, the mission was organized over three days—January 5, 19, and 20, 2026.

The mission was attended and supervised by the Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Affairs, as well as Prof. Rania Bakry, Director of the Operation Smile team.

During the mission, dental treatment was provided to 40 children aged between 3 and 14 years at the Pedodontics clinics. Interns carried out the required procedures under the supervision of faculty members from the Pedodontics Department. In addition, an oral health awareness campaign was conducted for the children and their parents, during which 100 toothbrushes and toothpaste sets were distributed, along with awareness flyers provided by the World Dental Federation (FDI).

On the sidelines of the Operation Smile mission, a workshop titled “Recent Cleft Lip and Palate Management” was delivered by credentialed members of Operation Smile to staff members and teaching assistants from the Pediatric and Orthodontic Department, as well as the Prosthodontic Department.

This mission embodies the core belief that oral healthcare is a fundamental right. By partnering with esteemed organizations such as Operation Smile, the Faculty continues to make a tangible difference in the lives of many families. Satisfaction surveys completed by patients and participants indicated a 100% satisfaction rate.

قافلة ناجحة أخرى بالتعاون مع مؤسسة عملية الابتسامة – مصر (Operation Smile, Egypt)، وذلك بمجمع عيادات كلية طب الفم والأسنان. وتحت قيادة لجنة خدمة المجتمع وتنمية البيئة، وبمشاركة أعضاء هيئة التدريس بقسم طب أسنان الأطفال، نُظِّمت المهمة على مدار ثلاثة أيام: 5 و19 و20 يناير 2026.

وقد حضر القافلة وأشرف عليها وكيل الكلية لشؤون خدمة المجتمع وتنمية البيئة، إلى جانب الأستاذة الدكتورة رانيا بكري، مدير فريق عملية الابتسامة.

وخلال القافلة، تم تقديم العلاج السني لـ 40 طفلًا تتراوح أعمارهم بين 3 و14 عامًا داخل عيادات طب أسنان الأطفال، حيث قام أطباء الامتياز بتنفيذ الإجراءات العلاجية المطلوبة تحت إشراف أعضاء هيئة التدريس بقسم طب أسنان الأطفال. كما تم تنفيذ حملة توعوية لصحة الفم والأسنان للأطفال وأولياء أمورهم، تم خلالها توزيع 100 فرشاة أسنان ومعجون أسنان، إلى جانب منشورات توعوية مقدمة من الاتحاد العالمي لطب الأسنان (FDI).

وعلى هامش القافلة ، تم تنظيم ورشة عمل قدمها أعضاء معتمدون من مؤسسة عملية الابتسامة لأعضاء هيئة التدريس والهيئة المعاونة حول أحدث أساليب علاج الشفة الأرنبية وشق سقف الحلق.

وتجسد هذه المهمة الإيمان الراسخ بأن الرعاية الصحية الفموية حق أساسي للجميع. ومن خلال الشراكة مع منظمات مرموقة مثل مؤسسة عملية الابتسامة، تواصل الكلية إحداث تأثير ملموس في حياة مئات الأسر. وقد أظهرت استبيانات الرضا التي تم استكمالها من قبل المرضى والمشاركين نسبة رضا بلغت 100%.
