Faculty of Computer Science – Supreme Council of Universities Visit for PhD Program Review

On Tuesday, May 20th, 2025, the Faculty of Computer Science proudly welcomed a distinguished delegation from the Computing and Informatics Sector Committee of the Supreme Council of Universities, Ministry of Higher Education.

The visit marked a significant milestone in MIU’s ongoing efforts to advance academic excellence and expand its postgraduate offerings in the field of Computer Science.

The esteemed committee members were:

● Prof. Hala Zayed

● Prof. Sherien Abdel Kader

● Prof. BenBella S. Tawfik

The primary objective of the visit was to review and validate the curriculum for the proposed PhD program in Computer Science. The committee engaged in in-depth discussions with faculty members and thoroughly assessed the faculty’s academic and research capabilities.

As part of the evaluation, the committee toured the faculty’s research labs, examined ongoing research initiatives, and explored the infrastructure and resources supporting postgraduate education at MIU.

This visit represents a major step toward launching the first PhD program in Computer Science at MIU, aligning with the university’s vision to foster cutting-edge research and support Egypt’s national agenda for innovation and scientific advancement.

كلية المعلومات والحاسبات – زيارة لجنة قطاع الحاسبات والمعلومات بالمجلس الأعلى للجامعات لمراجعة برنامج الدكتوراه

في يوم الثلاثاء الموافق 20 مايو 2025، استقبلت كلية المعلومات والحاسبات بكل فخر وفدًا رفيع المستوى من لجنة قطاع الحاسبات والمعلومات بالمجلس الأعلى للجامعات – وزارة التعليم العالي.

تمثّل هذه الزيارة محطة مهمة في مسيرة الجامعة نحو التميز الأكاديمي والتوسع في برامج الدراسات العليا في مجال علوم الحاسب.
ضمت اللجنة الموقرة كلًا من:
● أ.د. هالة زايد
● أ.د. شيرين عبد القادر
● أ.د. بن بيلا إس. توفيق

وكان الهدف الرئيسي من الزيارة هو مراجعة واعتماد البرنامج المقترح للحصول على درجة الدكتوراه في علوم الحاسب. حيث أجرت اللجنة مناقشات معمقة مع أعضاء هيئة التدريس، وقيّمت الجاهزية الأكاديمية والبحثية لإطلاق هذا البرنامج المتقدم.

كما قامت اللجنة بجولة داخل المعامل البحثية بالكلية، واطّلعت على المبادرات العلمية الجارية، والبنية التحتية الداعمة لتعليم الدراسات العليا داخل الجامعة.

تُعد هذه الزيارة خطوة محورية نحو إطلاق أول برنامج دكتوراه في علوم الحاسب بجامعة مصر الدولية، بما يتماشى مع رؤية الجامعة في دعم البحث العلمي وتعزيز الابتكار والمساهمة في تحقيق الأجندة الوطنية للتقدم العلمي في مصر.
