Visit to Aswan University Hospital

As part of the collaboration agreement between the Faculty of Dentistry at Misr International University and Operation Smile – Egypt, the Faculty’s Community Service and Environmental Awareness Department organized a field visit to inspect the annual convoy of Operation Smile – Egypt in Aswan, which took place from 7 to 10 December 2024.

The visit was attended by the Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry for Community Service and Environmental Awareness, as well as a representative from the faculty’s teaching staff, who participated in the annual convoy’s activities.

The convoy included 85 individuals, consisting of certified doctors, surgeons, nursing staff, and administrators from various medical specialties related to the treatment and rehabilitation of cleft lip and palate patients, including plastic surgery, pediatrics, psychiatry, and dentistry.

The tour began with an inspection of the rooms designated for patient preparation, documentation of medical histories, and psychological preparation of children before undergoing surgeries. The group also visited the operating rooms, where a team of specialized professors and certified nurses from the foundation, including international staff from countries like the United States, Canada, Spain, Morocco, Jordan, and United Arab Emirates were providing services.

The visit also included an inspection of the supplies storage and materials sent from the international foundation, as well as the mobile dental clinic and the mobile dental treatment units. The team reviewed the daily surgery schedule, which was color and line coded. One hundred and forty-eight patients benefited from surgical procedures, while 550 received dental treatments.

The visit concluded with the development of an initial plan for collaboration between the Faculty of Dentistry and Operation Smile – Egypt Foundation.

زيارة مستشفى أسوان الجامعي

في إطار توقيع اتفاقية التعاون المشترك بين كلية طب الفم والأسنان – جامعة مصر الدولية وبين مؤسسة جمعية الإبتسامة – مصر، قامت إدارة خدمة المجتمع وتنمية البيئة بالكلية بعمل زيارة ميدانية لتفقد القافلة السنوية لمؤسسة عملية الإبتسامة – مصر في مدينة أسوان، وذلك في الفترة من 7 إلى 10 ديسمبر 2024.

شارك في الزيارة الميدانية السيد وكيل كلية طب الفم والأسنان لشئون خدمة المجتمع وتنمية البيئة وكذلك ممثل عن أعضاء هيئة التدريس بالكلية، حيث قاما بحضور فعاليات القافلة السنوية.

شارك في القافلة عدد 85 فرداً من الأطباء المعتمدين والجراحين والتمريض والإداريين من مختلف التخصصات العلمية المتعلقة بعلاج وتأهيل مرضى الشفاه الأرنبية مثل جراحات التجميل، طب الأطفال، الطب النفسي، وطب الأسنان.

بدأت الجولة بتفقد الغرف المخصصة للتحضير والتوثيق لملفات المرضى والتاريخ وكيفية التحضير النفسي للطفل قبل إجراء العمليات الجراحية، وكذلك تفقد غرف العمليات حيث يعمل فريق عمل يشمل أساتذة التخصص وتمريض معتمدين من المؤسسة الأم من دول عربية وأجنبية مثل الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية, كندا, اسبانيا, المغرب, الأردن و الامارات العربية المتحدة.

وقد تم تفقد مخزن الخامات والأدوات الواردة من المؤسسة الدولية الأم وعيادة الأسنان المتنقلة ووحدات علاج الأسنان المتحركة، والاطلاع على جدول العمليات اليومية الملون والمشفر، وتبين أن عدد المرضى المستفيدين من الجراحات في هذه القافلة بلغ 148 حالة، بينما استفاد 550 مريضاً من علاج الأسنان.

وانتهت الزيارة بوضع خطة مبدئية لكيفية التعاون بين كلية طب الفم والأسنان ومؤسسة عملية الابتسامة – مصر.
